Why are they replacing peach with toadette as a playable character?

It's a crime when only blue or yellow toad gets in a game. Blue toad is always my fav but it's a shame we can't pick yellow in SMM2. Blue toad wasn't even on the box for NSMBUD but he was playable. I don't mind toadette but classic toads will always be superior.
What is a shame is that Wario will never be playable in a mainline 2d mario.

They've already replaced every other Mario character with Toads, it's only natural they start replacing primary characters too.

They use blue toad because it visually differentiates him from the other characters. Red for Mario, Green for Luigi, Blue for Toad, Pink for Toadette.
If they used regular red Toad then it wouldn't look as good

No, he and Yellow Toad are abominations that never should have been added to NSMB. Yellow Toad should have been Wario or Daisy. Blue Toad should have been Waluigi, Peach, or Rosalina. Instead they just put different fucking colors on Toad and slapped him in there twice. There were so many more interesting and better options. Thankfully we've now replaced Yellow Toad with Toadette at least, which is a step in the right direction. We need to finish the job and get that blue bastard out of there.

SMB2 and 3DW got it right.
The only way to improve it is adding Wario on the side with his shoulder bash after running for a bit. And Rosa is already there too. Honestly I really want a 3DW sequel, or at least a port with extra characters to switch. It's byfar the most underrated Mario game.

Considering that Nintendo is willing to add totally segregated styles like 3D World now, it might be possible. It wouldn't matter that the game has very different physics and controls because they could just make it incompatible with other styles like they already did for 3D World.
