Is For Honor worth buying and does it have a playerbase? It's dirt cheap on steam but i dont want to waste money on a multiplayer game that no one plays

>He PAID for For Honor

It was free for months

I'm literally asking if i SHOULD buy it you illiterate retard
Also if it was free before will it be free again?

Honestly, the playerbase is pretty good and active, theres a lot of dead and bad memes like the vultcano, but the comunity is great if you like to see people rage and say that you are bad after losing, and like the general salt. The mechanics are FUCKING GREAT, and the combat is amazing honestly, but its up to you if you wanna buy it or wait until it is free, if you have any questions i will gladly anwser them

It's good
It's cheap
It's fun

It's a mine of salt, tho.

No

This. It's basically fundamentals the game with small combos and mix ups. All mind games and counters from here.

Also pic related is before demons embrace was still a one hit kill. Such a fun match holy fuck.

MEANT WHEN demons embrace was STILL a one hit kill jesus.

On Xbox the playerbase is completely dead and it takes forever to get into a match, and when you do it's completely unbalanced and filled with autists that have played way more than you. One of the things that sucks about the game is how empty it can feel. There's no reason for the giant maps when it's 3v3 at most. You can tell they added the enemy armies marching through because otherwise every non-duel map would be a ghost town.

Ok then, here are some questions
Is it hard to get into at this point, since its been out for a long time and the skill gap between me and veteran players will be big
Will it be free again or was that a one time deal
What faction/character do you reccomend to start with if i buy it

I only play warden and two hit into shoulder bash. Should I hate myself

About the skill gap between you and the vets, it's gonna take some time, but not too long, if you want to play for fun you gotta be prepared to match against really good players, but with some training against bots, and the completion of the campaign, you are gonna be able to fight against them in most cases, the combos are not that hard to learn, you just have to play the correct mind tricks for them to suceed, and this stuff is obtainable with some time playing.
About the price, i honestly dont know, but given that ubisoft wants to keep expanding the player base, it will probably be free again, tho the time is uncertain, they keep adding new stuff regurlaly tho.
And about the factions, you should pick whatever your heart says, the vikings and samurai are way more tryhard, so if you wanna play to win they are more suited for you, and the knights are more chill, they have the best memes and are fun guys to play with, but we dont win a faction war for some time because we keep deploying troops at the "vultcano", but you can change them, so if you get bored or wanna try another faction, just go for it. I will be glad if i can help you any further

don't buy it, it seems cool and all at first but then you realize quickly that everyone will just use the cheesiest tactics to win and then you start cheesing to stay competitive and then it's just who can get who in an unstoppable loop of minor damage that eventually kills the other

it's boring after about a day and a half of fighting on the same battlefields and if you're not playing with a full pre-made group then you're gonna have a bad time in almost every encounter

No, there are thorough youtube guides for all the heroes. Watch the most recent ones because there are patches/reworks that change characters movesets pretty substantially. Play through the campaign or practice against bots if you want before heading in to the multiplayer and that will help you get comfortable because the controls take some getting used to.
It's been free a few times, but $7 is a good price and it hasn't been free for several months so I wouldn't bank on it happening again too soon. Even when it was free it jacked up the cost of unlocking heroes so it's a better deal now. It doesn't cost real money, just your time to grind ingame currency.
The factions are all balanced. Some heroes are easier to play as, but I'd suggest trying as many as possible/going with who you have fun with. The "Vanguard" classes are well rounded and generally easy. Viking Vanguard Raider is one of the strongest in the game now because he just got his moveset reworked a few months ago.
Vikings usually win the overarching "war" metagame but the rewards are shit and nobody really cares about it.

Don't buy, it's trash.

Should have added you aren't locked in to playing the characters of your faction. It only changes the shape of your emblem, and who benefits from your wins toward the faction war metagame.

Not while Mordhau exists

no. mechanics are shallow, balance is terrible, and the userbase is almost entirely redditors. it's for people who aren't smart enough to play fighting games but think they're geniuses. it's developed by ubisoft. honestly if you're stupid enough to consider buying this shit then you'll probably fit right in

No, it's shit.

You could always try and refund it OP

im gonna be honest with you man, the last season of For Honor had a significant player count drop after they introduced a boring character and over-buffed an older character beyond all reason. The new season is in a couple of weeks and if it doesn't deliver something good things won't be looking up for For Honor. The general is already on it's last legs with a few dedicated autists pity bumping it at page 10.
But the game is fun I guess. I've been playing it since launch and hesitate to recommend it. It would be like saying "hey purgatory is pretty great you should fucking kill yourself like I did!" It's a great game held back by a borderline retarded dev team that works at a snail pace.

There isn't a game that makes me quite as angry as For Honor. I don't even know why, but I become the saltiest fuck on the planet when I play, win or lose. Pick it up, it's a fun, yet very frustrating game.

>its good

Actually its categorically the worst fighting game in recent history, and I'm including those early 3d dbz fighting games
The only reason it still exists is because it falls under ubisoft's games as a service arm which they support the hell out of.

Thank you all for your input
I've decide to wait a few weeks and see how well the new season does before i decide on buying it

its definitely worth buying, don't let the anons trick you, i love it to death and i'm willing to train you if it gets too hard. the playerbase is still very active

nice bait user, its a genuinely good game, but Yea Forums doesn't play video games so why even ask you

lmao no

Actually categorically youre the biggest fag in this thread

lol seethe much?

not even a seethe

He's right, and I played this game enough to know it. This game is fucking trash, and ubisoft is so incompetent that the dedicated aervers didn't even fix the issues that they planned on fixing when implementing the change. The game has horrible bnalancingnissues, even after the character "fixes", the music is bland shit and the game is fucking boring to play. Everyone just focuses on the shitty 4v4 mode as well. You just seem like an ass blasted ubidrone, this game sucks cock and Ubisoft is so aware of it that they had to give it away for free twice in order to try and bolster the playerbase, but it failed both times because everyone knows how garbage this game is.
