Yes, but as usual, he is right in a vague general sense but wrong about the reasons and details. Basically everything is political because, outside sitting in your room and not discussing anything, nearly everything involves speaking with other people and trying to influence them in some way. Or, at least, trying to influence how the world works around you. Saying that games should not be about politics is basically saying that games should be about one thing and not about another, or primarily about one thing and not another, and is attempting to influence people to support that and change how things work. Nobody said "Keep politics out of my games!" and didn't want anything to change.

But as normal, he's sort of missing the point and trying to hold up some random irrelevant bit as supporting his point. And as normal, it doesn't really do that well. Rescuing somebody who has been kidnapped and bringing them back home - or even fighting off some kidnappers so a government ruler can get back to ruling - is not "political". It's moral. It's establishing that somebody should have the right and freedom to do their job. It's not favoring the Mushroom Monarchy over the Koopa Monarchy; the two are not having a political debate which you throw your hat into. It's saying that kidnapping people and locking them in a dungeon until they give into your demands is wrong.

And yes, he's right about the privileged thing but again, Princess Peach is not exactly a shining example to use for that point.

Donkey Kong is probably the most positive portrayal of black people I've ever seen in video games. He's strong, heroic, caring, but not afraid to get violent when someone tries to disturb the peace on Kongo Bongo. I haven't played much of the series, but I'm struggling to think of an "emo" main character in the series. Cecil is a bit depressed at the beginning of IV because of not knowing his stance towards his country, maybe part of VI has the characters go through tough times after Kefka does his thing? Haven't reached there yet. Squall is more aloof and sarcastic than emo, and in X I know Tiddus cries at parts. All in all though, FF characters tend to be more upbeat than anything. It's hardly an emo series.
