Do you play with viewmodels on or off?
Do you play with viewmodels on or off?
both
>not using mini viewmodels
pleb
>he doesn't play with 3:4 resolution stretched to 16:9 with his NVIDIA graphics card
>tf2
thats gonna be a yikers from me dawg
who actually gets mad about backcapping, how hard is it to watch the point right in front of your spawn
Yes.
The sole reason you shouldn't use them is if you want to use the cock muncher which takes up a solid half of the screen while recharging
No, otherwise I won't be able to see my festive australium rocket launcher that I paid an arm and a leg for.
bad players get mad at video games in general
based
i use min models.
can't aim projectiles for shit without them on for some reason.
He's autistic.
FACT: if you can't look down and see your characters tits, its not worth playing
Name two games.
No mods
No licenced games (that jurassic park game)
On. The part that's covered by the weapon is so minimal that I don't bother turning it off.
cl_first_person_uses_world_model 1
Viewmodels on but I used 90fov iirc
Not a crazy high one like some I saw but you could see the end of your hands being attached to nothing
It's crazy how good stretched helped my game.
Also, just for my sniper bros, don't tell Valve teamfortress.tv
i have a hotkey to switch between them
name games
I use transparent minimized viewmodels.
Also the transparent viewmodels thing can sometimes have a neat bug where you can see through some props like the cart on frontier or through some of those garage doors, it's pretty cool.
Also switched from regular 1080p to stretched 1440x960 it helped a lot for some reason.
came here to post this
can you get banned for this
>90 FOV
>110 viewmodel FOV
>minimized viewmodels
Works well for me.
You can only get banned for that in competitive leagues, I've been using it ever since it came out and have never had any problems whatsoever.
Who here /Axtinguisher/?
>that glorious feeling of chaining together kills as you rip through the enemy teams backline
remember when 90% of pyros in the game were using degreaser and this piece of shit
b4nny would rage in any of these.
Old Axtinguisher was disgustingly good looking back, especially with how much more control airblast took away from people and the fact that it did full crits on burning targets. I will never forget being a one man death machine with the Degreaser, Flare Gun, and Axtinguisher.
Imagine being so retarded that you play your game through a fucking fishbowl filter because once you read online that it would maybe perhaps give you a minuscule advantage (source: my ass and also please don't think about the fact that the tiny amount of redundant peripheral vision also shrinks your center-of-screen aiming area because I don't want you to realize that this retarded FoV meme is is at best a trade-off) in a non-competitive videogame that doesn't even reward you for winning.
These are the same fucking autists that play with minecraft graphics configs so they can get 300fps in their 50HZ monitor because dude that extra 1/288th of a second will give me the GAYMER EDGE I need to win my epic victory royale XD
Fucking retarded
I actually play better with stretched, why are you mad?
Who the fuck ups the FOV for advantage? I do it purely because I think it looks better. I hate not having peripheral, it fucks up my sense of perpsective.
>Who the fuck ups the FOV for advantage?
More autists than you would think.
I guess that's an inherent issue with TF2 when Valve decided to give players as much control over the game as possible.
They seriously need to find some way to clean their code, optimize here and there and just call it a port to Source2 or something.
Yeah, I can't help but laugh at retards who unironically use stretched. Only exception is if you grew up playing on an actual 4:3 monitor, otherwise you look like a retard falling for damaging placebo.
Everything else: OFF
The Original: ON
stretched makes a little bit of sense
superhigh FoV is 100% gold-plate retarded
min view models with scout, viewmodels on for everyone else. Might consider using min view models for soldier too because of shit like the direct hit and mangler blocking almost half of my screen
streamable.com
This is a friend of mine, he played in 16:9 1080p for 7 years and three months ago he switched to stretched.
If stretched is such a meme, then why do so many pros use it, too, even when they started playing at a regular resolution?
>If stretched is such a meme, then why do so many pros use it
they also use 1000$ gamer chairs and aimbots
So no arguments?
sniper is aids
bro your "argument" is literally an appeal to authority fallacy and nothing fucking else except a webm of some guy spawncamping in harvest
Based and redpilled
People say stretched makes player models wider, but that's no reason to play with a fucked up resolution. Just play in American servers, everyone will be wider anyways.
Your friends playing a valve pub as sniper with a pocket medic. Posting this was really pointless.
Stretched makes the characters lzrger so they're easier to hit, that'ls all there is to know.
>appeal to authority
Pros do what they do to reach the top, if it was useless to use stretched they wouldn't do it.
so they're basically cheating then
IT'S TIME
Post your top 3 classes by playtime, for me it's
>Engy
>Sniper
>Scout
this but with flat chest and cunny instead
>Stretched makes the characters lzrger so they're easier to hit, that'ls all there is to know.
other important things there are to know:
>the change is only visual, hitboxes etc. remain the same
>your crosshair also becomes larger anyways
>your horizontal FoV is decreased in order to give the stretched effect, objectively providing a disadvantage
>your vertical FoV is also decreased, which is so fucked up you can't even cause this with console commands
so basically you are huffing your pubstomping friend's farts and saying "that's all there is to know" tells us you're not interested in actual discussion here, despite asking for "arguments"
>Want to get back to TF2
>Know that if I do, I'll become obsessed with it to the point where it affects the rest of my life
I just love this game too much.
Did you stop playing before MYM? If so, you have nothing to fear friend, the TF2 you loved is halfway gone.
Axetinguisher is complete ass now, valve please fix it.
Well I play better since I use it, you can keep seething if you wish, I just tried to help you.
>it's placebo
I actually recorded my average k/d and damage per game and there is an increase, I need to collect more data but what's certain is that I hit shots I couldn't hit before.
I almost asked about the stretched thing, but looking at this thread I realized is a meme for retards.
>engineer
>pyro
>heavy
Marvel at my excellent taste.
k
Nope, I've since gone back to it several times but it completely takes over my life every time. Every second I'm thinking about TF2 related stuff, I'm watching TF2 related stuff, I even missed work days because I was talking on Yea Forums about TF2, if it was a particularly good thread.
There's something about this game that completely takes over me and I'm never satisfied until I have as much TF2 related content as humanly possible.
why are tf2 players so fucking stupid?
SMALLER
And just so you know, my "pubstomping friend" fucks up platinum/invite tier snipers on the regular, I'll gladly huff his farts, braap :^)
ORIGINAL OR STOCK??
When did you first start playing? TF2 is the only game I've played since 2014. 4300 hrs
It's placebo.
What team is he on? Don't tell me you mean, only in casual.
Settled on stock mostly because of the fact that I love Hazard Warning War Paint
Cow Mangler 5000
>TF2 threads are still the only threads even worth bothering on this board
Never change, you fucks. You actually fucking discuss the game.
Beggar's bazooka.
They're both great but my jumps change so drastically when I switch between them. My c-taps and right handed jumps are amazing on stock but on the orignal I can actually hit left handed jumps, technical jumps, and speed pogos more reliably.
Whip or Escape Plan
He currently plays for team Scotland.
m.twitch.tv
Also, ever heard about the effects placebo could have? I hit better shots, period.
I only switch to the original when I get bored
Stock ftw
>tfw keep getting urges to reinstall tf2 but i haven't played since the mech game mode or whatever it was and i have none of the new stuff
I've known about TF2 since it was released but I only followed the shorts and later comics since I never was into multiplayer games. But I always loved the art style, characters, all that.
Actually decided to try it in 2015 although I only tried it for about 5 hours before quitting for a year. It can be pretty unforgiving to actually get into it without any knowledge about it. A year later, after finding some TF2 videos that went over the basics, I finally understood how the game worked and I was hooked. Have around 2000 maybe close to 3000 hours, since I usually binge for a while before stopping for several months, just for the sake of my own health.
>marked for death so that you can run a little faster
No thanks
On the contrary, how come /tf2g/ threads are so trash?
I prefer stock although I'll switch to this Original I renamed if I see some thin skin player that I know will get a rise.
You would hit the same shots regardless, it's placebo.
>worrying about unlocks
>/vg/
that's why
Don't get hit. The escape plan makes it infinitely easier.
Different user here. I have no idea but I've also heard that it's terrible. There's apparently some rule of not actually quoting anyone so just reading the thread is a mess.
But Yea Forums TF2 threads are still some of the best. It's just people having fun, telling stories, giving ideas, sharing the pain of Valve not updating the game, just the normal stuff.
You sound just like me in that regard. TF2 was the first multiplayer game I ever played since I had a little anxiety about playing them. Online friend convinced me to download it and play it with her, and the rest is history. I love FPS games in general, and I played the SP of RTCW hundreds of time growing up, but never got into anything multiplayer until TF2. Great fucking game.
At that low of health you're probably gonna die if you get hit anyways, might as well make it harder for them
>You would hit the same shots regardless, it's placebo.
I used to never hit airshots, and now I hit them, I used to ALWAYS get fucked up by scouts at close range, now I headshot them, same for spies behind me or havies/pyroes making my aim jitter.
I know myself better than you do and I now I play better. I'd tell you to try it but I'm afraid you wouldn't try it out of pettiness.
I only this year found out that the place where soldier's rocket comes out in the game world is dependent on player's viewmodel settings. I had previously been under the impression that the viewmodel was purely a client-side aspect to the game.
Which other weapons also impacted by viewmodel? Do Demoman's weapons function similarly? Does it apply to all projectile weapons?
Both are honestly 10/10 melees in their own way. No reason to use anything else.
pretty sure it applies to all projectile weapons, although I've never tried it on the huntsman
>2fort
>After a lot of trouble finally get the intel out
>Get killed but the soldier I was with picks it up
>Gets hit but survives on 2 health
>Takes out the Escape Plan and runs through the sewers
>I'm seeing all of this while waiting for respawn
>See three enemies firing at him
>Crit rocket straight for him
>Hits the wall under the stairs just as my team's soldier gets past it
>Was actually holding my breath, seeing that rocket getting closer as he ran as fast as possible
Not him but that's the definition of a placebo retard, the game functions the same, it's just stretched, but your monkey brain tricks you into reacting different.
use the shovel and frag nerds with your elite rocket jumping skills.
Pretty much. Since then I've tried some other mp games but there's just nothing that even comes close. It's a perfect bubble that can't be replicated.
I've honestly thought about writing the TF2 equivalent to Half Life's Raising the Bar book. Just go over the genius of the game in as much detail as possible.
So do pros optimize their viewmodel settings with this fact in mind?
He says I would've hit the shot and I perfectly know I wouldn't have, I perfectly fucking know the game plays the same, but the game also plays the same if you play it in 240p 15fps.
Stretched makes me play better and thatns a fact, trying to argue against it is silly.
You're missing a lot of the game's charisma without Scout reloading by flicking the lever on his gun infinitely, or Demo just pumping his sticky bomb launcher or loading 4 grenades into his 6-grenade capacity pipe launcher, or Soldier literally stuffing multiple rockets up the mouth of his bazooka.
Whip if you play thinking about your team, Escape Plan if you only focus on yourself. Both are very useful.
how do i make this work sensei, i added it but i still have tunnel vision
Don't know. I do know that left handed-viewmodels have a slight advantage on Powerhouse if you're on team BLU due to how the map is mirrored .
The only thing that changed is whether the viewmodel is on your left/right shoulder. viewmodel_fov has no impact at all
And since there is so console command to switch viewmodels side, it's never used.
>mat_phong 0
This looks so much better. Why is the default option 1?
You can do absolutely batshit insane things with the speed boost. I jumped over a crit rocket and melee crit'd the soldier who shot at me. In the right hands your juking/evasion skills go up by a gorillion percent.
oh well. but this fact interestingly creates a functional difference to the Original rocket launcher. I personally feel like hitting is easier when rockets come out from the center of the screen.
i love being killed by hitscan bullets from round a corner because he has 80 ping very cool
You are so retarded he gave up on replying to you, I'll do the same, because holy shit you are as stupid and stubborn as a mule.
When is it best time to use the quick fix?
You just got better at the game, stretched had absolutely nothing to do with it. Spend more time focusing on getting better at the game before you start falling for placebo.
Git gud.
When your team sucks.
That's every multiplayer shooter ever
No
I also have explosions, soundscapes, dust, and tracers disabled
>decide to use the sandman again
>still able to land every shot
>it does nothing now
thanks valve
On, it fucks with my aim if I don't have the weapon model as a frame-of-reference.
When you're playing in a low population server
Never, absolutely never. Everyone on your team would rather get no heals at all then be gifted the false confidence bestowed upon them by the piece of shit uber from the quick fix. You're basically asking your patient to go out and kill themselves in front of the enemy team.
Sandman should do everything it does right now like letting the stunned player fire back, but bring back the crit guillotine combo. Easy fix.
viewmodel off + crosshair off
plebians
I need to practice with it. I always use the whip since it often saves me with a crit just when I need it and it's great to get Heavy's to the front lines but I've often been killed by the Escape Plan and I'm always left wondering how I allowed that to happen.
You also don't have to keep the EP equipped 24/7, doing small hops and switching to rockets mid air then back to the EP is also another option that lets you fight back. Makes the enemy work their absolute hardest to kill you and letting you still be a considerable danger.
youtube.com
Stuff like this is also possible and works on so many enemies thanks to the speed.
The Escape Plan is actually a straight upgrade to stock just when it comes to dealing melee damage, LET ALONE the speed utility.
>but you take minicrits while it's active
If you're taking out your melee on Soldier, it's already a dead mans hand situation. Either you win the fight and retreat, die, or both. Also, if you're at 20 HP, you'll die to one rocket, melee hit, or meatshot anyway. You still get the benefit of the speed boost to line up your melee hit, which is usually a crit if you're doing a lot of damage.
Same with the Whip. The longer melee range makes up for the damage penalty, especially when the thing crits like crazy. No reason to use stock.
Yes, I'm sure that raising my k/d by 19,3% over the course of a month sounds like your typical improvement for a sniper that played the game for well over two years, I imagine it follows the traditionla logarithmic improvement curve.
What do you have to say to that?
I remember the 360 version of this game had some odd features and exploits that always interested me. They were things like pressing certain button combinations to disable your HUD, or how to "jelly hop" out of certain parts of the map to build sentries. Some information like how to glitch out of the map in certain areas has been documented, but it always felt like there were a lot of esoteric things you could do in that version that only a few people knew about and kept to themselves.
Jesus Christ
Stuff like this in TF2 always makes me feel so embarrassed.
>Doing well as mvp
>Having fun
>Suddenly scout comes around the corner
>Dodges every single attack
>Won't even fire until I try to pull out melee
>Fucker is toying with me
>Two perfect meatshots and I go down
>Consider suicide
all the time because its op as fuck
is it made up of bots, or are they all mentally ill?
Other guy here, I don't think you understand what a placebo is
>well over 2 years
lol so you're going 1:5 instead of 0:5 now
Nice
Those exploits still pop up in the PC version sometimes. I remember Upward being unplayable for awhile due to engies putting a sentry underground at the point before last. Plus that one glitch that made the fucking cart disappear.
I am guilty of doing the same to people at times. There's just something about it in games like this where you can just exert/exude dominance on other people without having to do anything; the rush of being a cheeky little cunt is amazing. The main point of it though is get into peoples heads and make them upset or make mistakes. Best thing you can do is just take it in jest and realize what they're doing and compose yourself since standing there like a smug twat can make you pretty vulnerable to stuff like headshots, I would know from experience. Smugness is a dangerous drug.
Self-heal weapons shouldn't be a thing and healing should stay firmly in the hands of the Medic
Meme kill-combo weapons like the Sandman and Flying Guillotine's old combo should stay firmly in the hands of the Pyro as per his ambush/panic-sowing role
Banners should've been for the Heavy to emphasize his support/defense "heavy-artillery" role
The Half-Zatoichi should've been exclusive to Soldier because of the Killer's Kabuto
Swords for Demoman should've stopped at the Eyelander and by God he should've had a shillelagh weapon by now
The Ullapool Caber shouldn't have been nerfed and competitive players that already instantly banned the weapon should've learned to adjust to a screaming nigger in the sky coming for their Medic if they were seriously that worried about it
They should've done more highly-exclusive events like the Golden Wrench
They should've added a metal sink that isn't crafting more hats instead of poopooing the entire idea
The Greek finance-minister responsible for the first wave of hats being removed from the drop and crafting tables should've been kicked flat out on his ass for even suggesting such a thing, and the Valve employee that thought TF2's economy should be investigated, curated or controlled kicked out with him
i don't know if CS is significantly different in this regard, but that game, in my experience, always gives the advantage to the player with the better connection. i suppose it handles more stuff on the server side?
>Self-heal weapons shouldn't be a thing
I would agree with this, but only if they buff Engineer's dispenser to give increased healing rates AND overheal when standing next to it.
>Self-heal weapons shouldn't be a thing and healing should stay firmly in the hands of the Medic
I personally love them because I'm regularly a top player in a pub match and self-healing allows me to rampage freely by myself.
I'm specifically talking about Concheror and Pocket Pistol. Sandvich is nice too.
O F F
I'm more of an MVC guy, myself.
I can't stand roaming players but I don't mind the Sandvich because it comes with a severe drawback, it's not in the same category to me as things like the Pocket Pistol or Mad Milk where the only real drawback is it's not the stock pistol
>festivizing your weapons
*retard alert*
>/vg/
/vg/ is only good for new games that are FoTM, niche games, and during major new content drops where there's new shit to discuss.
Any other game discussed too long without new content degenerates into trash conversation because they've already discussed everything else to death.
Engineer
Soldier
Spy
>its another heavy banner poster
Why can't you comprehend that heavy is fine and this would break the class?
I don't want a straight translation of any of Soldier's banner effects, I'd have preferred for the concept to have been implemented with Heavy in mind. Certainly nothing stupid like the Concheror's passive HP regen as an effect for any of Heavy's banners.
It's the best defensive medigun by far, since if you are not pushing an objective it is much more valuable for keeping your team alive and avoiding the long respawns that comes with playing on defense. I use it for most a/d, payload defense, and koth maps, and stock otherwise.
Thing you have to realize about /vg/ is that even a multiplayer game only has so much you can maintain a constant thread about.
We've all had good laughs about the thousands of katawa shoujo generals but that sort of decay, the way a DNA strand can only replicate so many times before it becomes the progenitor of cancer(in the literal sense of decay and not dying when they should and not the way we use the term cancer liberally), is inevitable in that environment.
Threads last forever, they go up over 700 and they can only go so fast and can talk about so much. But people don't leave. Soon it becomes just another chat room, tripfag or anonymous it might as well be a groupchat you have on your phone where you just jizz random inane thoughts.
I used to think /ksg/ was sympathetically pathetic, and /sc2/ was just a weird fever dream of a torrential vomit of single word nonsense posts that would only make sense to someone that lurked those threads longterm, but then you realize that's basically what anything on /vg/ will become if artificially propagated.
When your team is getting shit on and you're the only competent medic.
I perfectly understand what placebo is and it doesn't matter whether it's placebo or not, my aim improved and that's all that matters.
>lol so you're going 1:5 instead of 0:5 now
Sounds like someone's projecting, you keep making bad decisions while I get out of ym comfort zone and take giant leaps.
Fuck friendlies
No, it wouldn't.
>Certainly nothing stupid like the Concheror's passive HP regen as an effect for any of Heavy's banners.
How would a, at best,+4 HP regen on a sandvich-less 300 HP class be OP?
>axtinguisher gets murdered because pyro, the close-range class, should not have a reliable melee weapon
>ullapool caber gets murdered because demo, the mid-range class, should not have a reliable melee weapon (even if it has a downside)
>sniper, the long-range class that is supposed to be weak at close range, still gets the bushwacka because fuck you
Explain this shit.
No, really, explain it.
>healing should stay firmly in the hands of the Medic
No fuck off
Medic is already OP as shit because nothing else comes close to his abilities. Engie should take up a secondary role as an AoE healer so medic stops being a mandatory pick in literally every game of TF2 ever.
Go for it, it would be a far better use of your time than actually playing this update-deprived game.
Any increase to the Heavy's survivability on top of his already high health-pool, the assumption that he has a Medic or other form of help near-by for him to even get any use out of a banner's effects, and extreme close-quarters power starts tipping the scales. Heavy can heal himself but the drawbacks are not having a shotgun and making yourself a sitting-duck for the duration of the heal.
>the healer should not be the only healer
I'm still mad about the axtinguisher, puff and sting pyro was so fun to play.
/tf2g/ threads are fucking miles better than Yea Forums's constant Valve dick sucking about how flawless the garbled mess of a video game is
>memetic cancer
Honestly not a bad vein of thinking, I'm gonna hold onto this idea
Thanks user
stop it guys... i'm gonna do it...
you can go back now
Axtinguisher is still good, only thing that changed is that not every mongoloid in the planet can use it now since you have to work for your damage.
>Yea Forums's constant Valve dick sucking about how flawless the garbled mess of a video game is
I don't think I've seen a single TF2 thread where somebody's not complaining about it in some fashion, let alone where somebody is actually defending Valve. Are you feeling alright?
Like you said, heavies would likely need a medic to get any use out of the banners since he has no sandvich and a slow move speed to get to any of the health pickups, which other classes like Soldier and Scout are meant to scoop up anyway. I constantly hear how Heavy getting Soldier's banners would break the game, yet I don't think they've ever thought about how difficult it would be to build up 600 damage with no sandvich in a pub, let alone make use of it before dying right away.
>but pocket medics
ANYONE with a pocket medic attached to them would be stronger than a non-buffed player, that's kind of the point of overheal.
>Best thing you can do is just take it in jest
That's exactly how I react. I always try to either praise the player for doing well or make a joke when I get killed in some silly way that I know I should've been better at.
Sure as soon as you fuck back off to reddit with the rest of the ass kissers
Valve only nerfs classes they don't like
>Spy gets nerfed constantly despite being the weakest class in the game

How out of your fucking mind do you have to be to come up with these? They have nothing to do with the design of the classes they were given to and I don't think anybody asked for these, ever.
Yes that's what I said retard.
/tf2g/ threads are impossible to read through because of your retarded no-reply rule. Go back and stay there.
was that on upward just now? i was in that game too.
heres his profile if you wanna report him but he's been doing it for months and valve dont give a shit.

they weren't thinking at all with a lot of weapons.
good example of this is the crit-a-cola, where it was designed a day before it was put in the game.
>I don't think I've seen a single TF2 thread where somebody's not complaining about it in some fashion
You're full of shit too faggot, if anyone has any little complaint about the game the responses are either git gud or some other apologist bullshit about how Valve is too busy to optimize the fucking game when it's being held together by duct tape and semen covered socks
When you want to follow an explosive jumping class.
The mobility it gives is disgusting.
>some other apologist bullshit about how Valve is too busy to optimize the fucking game
You didn't try at all, mate.
Even the best players get shown up sometimes.
When they first introduced some of these weapons I think they pretty much just thought "this sounds like it'd be fun", then tried to balance around that. The sun on a stick for example could've been a really good weapon, specially since there's usually at least one pyro on the team, it could've been one of those fun first type of weapons but it's just too weak to be useful.
Depends. Usually I use no viewmodel for hitscan and switch between the two when using projectile weapons.
>You didn't try at all, mate.

First, find the correct HudAnimations file, it's the one with the "event DamagedPlayer" in it, use ctrl+f.
Second, put the first chunk of code at the end of this file.
Third, replace the "event DamagedPlayer" bracket with the one in the tf.tv thread
Fourth, put the last chunk of code into your autoexec file, make sure it's executed at game launch.
You need to hit an ennemy for the scope to be removed each time you launch the game, so load up tr_walkway or whatnot.
Tell me if you're still here first, otherwise I'll probably leave, tell em if you have any more errors.
The only game Gabe gives a shit about is dota.
To be fair, TF2's idea of teaching new players is "sort it out yourselves" A decent training/tutorial for basic concepts wouldn't go amiss.
Usually if the game has the option it also tends to use the viewmodels to determine where the path of the bullet/projectile comes from so I need to have them on.
In TF2's case I just use transparent viewmodels, a lot better and I wish fps games integrated it as a standard, this is the only game I play and know of that even has such a thing available.
Nice, I remember using a mod for this back when they were still allowed on valve servers.
It was.
>other bronies in his friends list with steam levels in the hundreds
I... I just don't understand.
Don't Heavy's bullets actually come out of his face instead of his gun?
Are you gonna reinstall it?
That's not a fucking excuse. I've played dozens of FPS games of all kinds and not a single one has a playerbase anywhere near as bad as TF2's. The average TF2 player is borderline retarded.
Think of how many talented developers there must be in the TF2 community that also love the game. Why can't Valve just fucking hire them to work on the game.
>but Valve's strategy
Yeah, it's just so stupid. We could have a working tutorial system which would greatly improve the quality of matches, help retain newer players, and overall make more money for Valve. We could have so much if Valve just hired 2 or 3 dedicated TF2 devs who played the game more than 10 hours a year.
Reinstall the mod? Why? It doesn't work anymore. I will use this script though.
i fixed it 40-ish minutes ago, but you've given me a great gift user
how do i do this
No worries, prepare to hit the widest and wildest fucking flicks.
Using google would be a great first step.
>it's a soldier npc
>90% of pyros in the game were using the only combo that made pyro fun and good
You don't say. Clearly what we need to do is take the only usable weapons and make those bad too.
>fucking with the UI at all
why? its not like the UI is holding you back.
Fuck your mother you son of a bitch.
> all healing should be medic
You're right, the game does have a functional balance if the only way to sustain yourself away from your team is to take a medic with you. But a few relatively limited sustain options open up more playstyles than they do problems.
Mad Milk and Pocket Pistol need readjustments though.
> meme kill combos belong to the pyro
Addendum: make them actually fucking work. Axtinguisher is better but still not as good as it should be.
> half-zatoichi should be exclusive to soldier
haha, no
> eyelander is the only sword that needed to exist
Factually correct, all others are useless anyway. Does the skullcutter count? It's bro-tier.
> caber shouldn't have been nerfed
good opinion
> more highly-exclusive events
there are 2 billion unusuals, exclusive enough for you?
> metal sink that isn't more hats
Thank FUCK
> old hats shouldn't have been removed
once again correct
>scattergun out of ammo
>whip out the sun on a stick
>get 3 frags
>all others are useless anyway
eyelander is unironically one of the worst and is only good in pubs.
>wojak poster
i win
Preferably off. Some fucking weapons and reload animations are so FUCKING cancerous that they block up the fucking screen. Like, I always laugh my ass off as how fucking obnoxious Torbjorn's reload animation is, for example. Like, you know for a fact Blizzard had no fucking clue how to make an FPS since they opted for flashy shit that covers up 90% of your screen during a reload in a fucking FPS. Thank god I never picked up that POS game.
>Yea Forums threads: Actual discussions and anons who have enough brain cells to actually reply to one another
>/vg/ general: Bottom of the barrel sewer trash with what appears to be baboons just hitting the post button
>But a few relatively limited sustain options open up more playstyles than they do problems. Mad Milk and Pocket Pistol need readjustments though.
I largely agree, I don't actually mind any form of a heal on another class so long as they have a severe drawback related to it. I adore the Sandvich and related food items because of the eating time, I fucking hate the Concheror giving Soldier a Medic passive-regen and the Mad Milk ggez'ing a large group of enemies because it heals just to attack them.
>haha, no
Fight me faggot it drives me up the wall to see a katana in the Scottish character's hands when he doesn't drone on about Sun Tzu's Art of War and honor the way Soldier does.
>Does the skullcutter count? It's bro-tier.
I'm fine with Skullcutter, it makes you a monster in melee ranges but makes it harder to actually get and keep melee range.
>there are 2 billion unusuals, exclusive enough for you?
Not related to microtransactions, I should've clarified. Unusuals are shit-ugly which doesn't help my opinion on them and they don't have the community-oriented "race to the finish" aspect that the golden wrenches had; they feel like and are a gacha prize.
Here's the catch with /vg/: the majority of the threads pushing slower threads down and off the board are cancerous ones like the gacha generals and autistic ones that have been going on for way past the game's ability to hold any level of discussion and serve only as a form of chatroom (like /ksg/ or /ddlc/), if your general isn't shitposting a lot of bumping the thread from falling off the board by posting worthless as fuck bump posts every 15 minutes then your general will die. This is the inherent problem with /vg/ now. It's TOO fast for any form of slow burn discussion. Yea Forums is fast as well, but in these small moments people can find time to focus and actually talk about the game rather than treat the thread like a sinking ship.
>Skullcutter
>fine
Ah yes a melee with sword range and +25% should totally get random crits.
Persuader forces you to go full demoknight without the eyelander's speed buff.
Claidheamh mor is a fucking joke.
Half-zatoichi is maybe a sidegrade at best, and also encourages full demoknight.
Eyelander or bust, you dumb fucking casual.
I legitimately forgot about the concheror. I think it'd be okay with a slightly lower charge requirement and little to no passive regen. Mad Milk is also okay as an AoE, but should "wear off" after a certain amount of healing which scales down by how many people were hit by it.
> fight me faggot
Demoman uses swords.
Demoman was friends with Soldier, Soldier got cool sword.
This is not rocket science.
> not microtransactions
Ok then, we good.
Entering melee range against the Skullcutter is like entering melee range against the heavy, it proves you're an irredeemable retard who deserved to die anyway OR that the guy using it knows what he's doing. Shut the fuck up.
It IS fine, Skullcutter's speed-reduction hampers you to the point if you see one with it out you're generally either about to get a heavy hit, have your death-warrant signed, or it's your own fault for letting them waddle into range.
>weapon has bonus range
>tf2's hit reg is famously bad, especially for melee
>Claidheamh mor is a fucking joke.
confirmed bad
>claymore is a fucking joke
It's pretty good for hit and run hybrid demo.
>fists of steel decreases damage from ranged attacks by 40%
>they also increase the amount of melee damage you take by 100%
why can't they just make it a 40% increase instead? Take twice the amount of melee damage is just overkill.
I don't use the Skullcutter anymore precisely due to the switch speed nerf. It's fine.
because heavy has assloads of hp, with a 40% increase he'd still be at a fair advantage in a melee fight for most classes
Left-handed viewmodels
I only play Tf2 on Xbox 360 so that's a yes to the viewmodel
heavy shouldn't even have damage resistance in the first place, it makes him even more broken when played properly.
A game has got to be pretty damn niche, get the occasional new mod surge, and nothing- NOTHING- that can be waifu'd for a general to not be shit. Multiplayer anything is going to already be shit by default, unless if it's not the main focus of the community. Without fail. Of course, there are exceptions: /gsg/ /kspg/
Nonsensical rambling and passive aggressive shitposting in a sea of piss is not better than this shithole. We've seen your hole in the wall.
Can you blame them? The game is abandonware at this point
fuck friendlies
post yfw you enter THE ZONE
Based.
Why does the community defend friendlies when they're always some autistic kid who whines in chat when he gets killed, calls votes on people playing the objective, and just generally awful people?
Most of the time these days a lot of people in Casual seem to also think friendlies are fucking stupid and agree to votekick them when I call one, usually actual children or total spergs say some shit like 'let them play how they want' ;~;
If they're not on my team I can usually manage to target them enough for them to get fed up and try to kill me, which ends up with them actually playing the game
It's only a small subset of faggots who defend friendlies, mainly other friendlies.
>'let them play how they want' ;~;
*tries to cap on CTF or Hightower*
REEEE STOP CAPPING KICK HIM
*kills hoovy blocking the objective since that's how I want to play*
WTF I'M FRIENDLY, FUCK YOU FAGGOT
It's all so tiresome.
God every time I play Hightower and I have spergs screaming to stop capping I just solely focus on the objective the entire time
The votekicks never manage to work on me so it's funny as fuck to hear them screech at me.
I can already hear the one Soundsmith fanboy replying to you about how you hate fun or something when they don't realize that, for people like us, playing the objective is fun and, for them, sitting around spamming x+5 is fun.
>decloak
>cap spawn in 2 seconds
>found dracula
>lost dracula
lost
I just tell those faggots to go play on Lazypurple and kick them
Usually just saying that they're taking up a slot that someone who actually wants to be playing could use in chat manages to get them out
also by 'get them out' i mean get them kicked, not them leaving on their own volition because fuckin as if they'd do that
I only kick em if they're being vocally annoying and whiny, which is usually over 50% of the time.
When they bitch at someone for killing them is the moment I call the kick lol
Occasionally they're cool and just shoot the shit in chat and throw sandviches to me after a fight but that's super damn rare
I'm a big fan of pissing those types off since they fight HARD to keep you from capping the objective once they realize somebody's doing it, I've never had so much fun with Hightower as I have when I started doing that regularly.
Even worse than the friendlies are the dudes that enter a server and spam
>Can anyone help me with a contract?,
get mad when no one does, and proceed to be useless for the rest of the game. Contracts aren't even hard to complete.
I hack on tf2
