Fighsticks are a staple to the fgc's seemingly infinite levels of retardation. Only people who have a legitimate excuse to still be using fightsticks are the +30yo nip/chink/gook pros who grew up playing these games in arcades. 20yo faggots and trannies who play fighting games are embarrassing themselves by playing with fightsticks just because "muh daigo plays on one so it must make him good!".

I understand why people would use them, especially in Japan, which still (I think? at least it did recently) has an arcade culture. So playing a game in an arcade would need to transfer over to a console with the same controller. In the west I don't think it matters as much unless you're one of the few with an arcade nearby. But that being said, I do think that using a fight stick makes it easier to play the games, particularly because of the corners you can move the joystick into.
