Asian girls in anime works always have big eyes. Women of European descent in anime always have narrow eyes, unless they are very young. For instance, in Attack on Titan, Mikasa is asian and has big eyes. Ymir and Annie are white and have narrow eyes(especially Ymir). Tifa in all FF art both old and recent has always had large expressive eyes. This means she is Asian. In FF 7 all of her official art she had large eyes. She was always meant to be Asian even from the very start. Anyone saying she was supposed to be white or looks like "Jennifer Connelly"(who has a man face and narrow eyes btw) is fooling themselves. Tifa in Advent Children was how she's supposed to look, and with this they are sticking with that, she's Asian, deal with it.
Now Aeris is white, she has more narrow eyes and a horse face, which is a white woman feature.
