>notice I'm 10 turns away from nukes
>mfw my 5 subs killed 30+ russian ships
>mfw dropped 6 nukes and obliterated russia>
>mfw got both russia and zulus embargo'd in world conference
>mfw they were spamming me every turn for peace

Is this true? Civ 5 diplomacy honestly felt great, they reacted convincingly to your actions and had flexible agendas.

No. Fucking No. "I-have-550-hours-in-this-game-and-this-has-never-fucking-happened"-sized No. These AIs have never been worth a damn, EVER.
That said, I feel like the simple fact that these games have victory conditions makes them not very good for playing cooperatively

They don’t gift you resources, but if you both have an excess of a luxury, they’ll try to make something happen

Civ 4 > civ 5
Civ 5 modded > the rest

Can you give the tldr on each of these so I don’t have to look them all up? Lazy I know but so far I’ve only done additional civs.

Bio weapons adds bio weapons which makes tech tree better
Expanded tech tree adds more research late game
Civil war allows for civil wars between civs
Great rebels allows for great rebels which fucks with
Leaders are leaders
Spy extended makes spies do more and are better overall
Total collapse adds anarchists with barbarians and it is easier for rebels to spawn. It allows civs to fully break apart if you are not careful.
There is a mod that allows barbarians to create a city of you leave their camp out too long.

V on release was awful compared to VI. Most of VI's problems it inherited from the changes made from V, including AI that can't play the game.
