You can turn it off in the options but people don't seem to realize this

Turn on Airplane Mode before the match starts so you lose your connection, then turn it back off. Race and wait at 2nd place for all the EZ CPUs to pass you, then speed past them all. Make sure you're connected to the internet before the race ends.
That exploit also works if you want the extra online Wumpa Coins for almost no effort, and to beat any other online GP challenges.

Is splitscreen limited to Local Arcade only? No adventure mode or online?

I just finished a battle and at the end of it it said I had a total of 10,615.
But then when I went to the grand prix menu it says 10,565.

You learn the maps and master the turboslide mechanic, don't even bother playing online before you have all the platinum relics and Oxide ghosts beat. When you learn the game you can easily climb up back to 1st place even if you get clocked and missiled to 8th place.

I think coins and nitro are stored on their servers since you need an internet connection to earn them, so you shouldn't lose them.

Honestly it kind of depends on the track. If there are item boxes near the starting line, I'll hang back a bit and let everyone fuck each other up. If not I'll boost off the line and try to get as far ahead as quickly as possible.
Beyond that yeah it boils down to boosting, shortcuts, and luck.

Seriously this is so hideous, I can beat oxides times with the first try but I still have to endure this many loading screens per track:
1. entering the track for the first time
2.exiting it because you can't just restart it
3.choosing n-tropy ghost from the menu and loading into it again
4.exit to choose the next track

I'm playing on Switch and the worst that has happened was some cosmetics getting locked a day after I bought them, lost a bunch of money and it was a bummer but at least I haven't lost any adventure/time trial progress.

What do you guys think of the new track? I love it.

Don't do this, I finish first in 99% of the races and I start every match with a perfect boost. It's easier to focus on good slides when the track isn't littered with shit and then you're already so far ahead of the others that they can't do much to you, missiles can be dodged with a sharp turn. Even if you get hit by something that just pretty much leaves you with the rest of the flock.

Feels weird that it starts at night on the desert and ends at day in the market place. Feels like it should've been the opposite. Also would've liked if the market section was along the roof tops like in Crash 3 and if the tomb section was longer and had more hazards.

It's pretty good. The track design is alright, a little simplistic, but what really sells it is the Egyptian theming. It was fun to slowly go through the track in time trial just to see the scenery, especially in the daytime section.

Most luck based track is probably Papu's Pyramid. The beginning is always a clusterfuck and I can't break away without being hit. Proceed to get killed on the shortcuts 50% of the time and it is my most inconsistent track

Some are good like deep sea driving and tiny temple, others like out of time are meh and slightly inferior to the original. Hyper Spaceway is the worst one because they just removed the anti-grav part and didn't replace it with anything. They also took out the second colisseum jump so the track feels way shorter than it should and lacks curves.

yes but it's just as easy to go to single player race, select coco park, select 7 laps. You just lap them a couple of times within 6 laps then take your time reversing on the 7th lap for an easy victory even with lowest speed characters
