Two was shit though, the DR1 cast popping up at the end and the tie-in revelations to DR1 at the end saved the game along with Nagito in general. You're right that 1,2 and UDG had bad 3rd chapters but at least v3 makes up for it

Even that has been made out to them just being brainwashed so it wasn't really their faults. They went through such loops to make the DR2 cast look so innocent and special that I'm turned off by the series because of it.

It was alright in comparison but it felt like it had a lot of missed opportunities and wasted potential.

Sayaka's concept punishment was to be eaten by a giant venus flytrap after being cheated at a game of DDR.

1-10 were all games/anime in the V3 universe. that's why I hate when people say V3 turns the older games into reality TV, because they're just spreading false info.

It also has literally 3 times the amount of CGs compared to 2 and they are all done by 1 artist team compared to the sprite images which are all high quality and have a much larger team.

My biggest problem was who was right in V3. Seeing as the survivors are just Brain washed persona's and not actual people what does rejecting hope or despair do for them. Do they proceed to live out the lie of the life they know they have, or do they go back to being a bunch of fanboys. This is what really gets me about the ending. Not the point it was all a show but the fact no one seems to have an existential crisis knowing they are not the person they thought they where.

Okay technically she did but she was also a major character in Despair side while Bandai Namco has about four lines of dialogue and everybody basically forgets he existed after he dies, so it still keeps the spirit of the trope if you ask me.

even if their personalities were just fiction, that doesn't change the fact that they're real people who think and feel. I do agree that it would be nice to see what they did after they left, but I think the ending is better off left open.

The survivors were dull af, they barely had any personality to lose in the first place. We could have gotten to see some great breakdowns if characters with stronger motivations and feelings suddenly had their identities questioned. Because Danganronpa 1 and 2 were actually video games, and Danganronpa 3 was actually an anime. It was only starting with Danganronpa 4 that they started the Ultimate Real Fiction, everyone from 4 on is considered "real people" for Tsumugi's Cospox.
