The best games came out at the end of 2018. Using only 2019 games is like The Monkey's Paw. There's a ton of great games on the market for cheap, but the releases of this year were pretty terrible, allowing people to buy up last year's titles, while waiting for price drops.

Sekiro was the worst souls game since DaS2 they have ever done.
DMC5 wasn't as good as DMC3, story sucked and V gameplay was shit.
Kingdom Hearts 3 was great, but not as good as KH2FM. Maybe re:mind will fix it, but who knows.
REmake2 it's worse than the original game.
Crash and Ace combat are good, but I don't like those genres, so meh.
Bloodstained is a mediocre Castlevania game, that series has never been good.

The only strength Dad of Boy had was its story and that could some work.
Combat had potential but fell a little flat.

The combat in NuGoW was leagues more enjoyable than Sekiro.

God of War is about making you feel powerful and savage as fuck, then, generally when you’ve become pretty good at the games you move on to a higher difficulty to challenge yourself. The gameplay is tight as fuck, responsive and impactful.

On the other hand Souls is all about forcing the player to face a single, universal challenging difficulty. It’s about being a common nobody who you will define and mold throughout your playthrough. It forces you to not be a little bitch by keeping you in a constant state of tension through trial and error and surprises.

Both game types are great for what they set out to do and anyone who can’t appreciate their respective strengths is a pleb.

I disagree. I don’t hate KH3 but it’s a game that pisses me off for all that it failed to do. Final Fantasy was a core component of the identity of Kingdom Hearts. Them separating and erasing their relevance post KH2 has been hideous and a huge factor into why Kingdom Hearts lost its soul. It’s just like how Bethesda has been butchering Fallout with their own agenda for a once great series.

I remember back during the midst of KH1 to a year or two after the release of 2. It was a series that just made you feel cool and connected, and badass. It had a Disney hat on but the cock of a badass motherfucker by tying into Final Fantasy and anime tropes.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is comfy and does things right, but it also feels like it’s been so baby-ified. The Disney got pushed to 300% and the FF erased to a brief 10 second clip of Cloud and Auron during Olympus. All the keyblades look like they’re from funland. The plot which once was filled with mystery, depth and heartfelt connection has been replaced by bracing levels of confusion, cringe, and convolution.

Critical mode didn’t really change anything. KH has never been hard games but KH3 was by far the easiest and the very definition of spam X to win. Even KH2 demanded a little more variety in your moves if you wanted to win. KH3 has nothing, and I mean nothing, like the Data Organization.

It’s like Kingdom Hearts used to be a truly exciting franchise that was incredibly fun and it was going in a direction you were uncertain of but you knew it was going to be one heckuva ride. But now it’s in such an identity crisis anything it thought it was confident about back then has turned in on itself.

XV end: Noct sacrifices his life to banish the starscourge by performing providence which will kill Ardyn, erase the daemons, kill Noctis and destroy the ring of the lucii which had absorbed the crystals light into it, finally restoring the dawn to the world, finally at peace. This follows a long grueling self discovery noctis made about himself and where he finally starts taking responsibility and gains wisdom through his trials, emerging as the true king, and saying a heartfelt farewell to his brothers.

I think the buildup made it worse. Having everything crammed into the final world is a poor resolution for everything the side games setup. I wish the game was paced out better. III isn't shit by any means but I was wholly disatisfied compared to the old PS2 titles.

XV finished 2 years ago, only prequel or side story content was released as DLC post launch, why do you have to lie and act like the game being finished as every single player game goes through is somehow "put out of its misery"?
