Well, show us your first game user
Surely it was a massive succes
Don't make your own engine. You'll never be finished and you'll burn out before you even get to making your own game. Just use Unity, it's the easiest to get started with because it has the most resources and guides available. If you don't know how to program, don't decide to learn first, it'll take a year at least to get started, give or take, and it's not strictly necessary to do it first because you can pick it up as you work on making a game. Basically, just focus on doing the thing you WANT to do and not the things you think you SHOULD do before you do that.
Generate interest by including anime tiddies.
Unironically make your first game a f2p gacha game with anime tiddies and you'll do great.
Might as well make something with HTML5, then.
> Dont make your own coding engine
> Use common tools of the industry for people who dont make their own engine
> "Oh so you're saying I should use html then huh? I'm very smart"
>Coding engine
???
There's literally nothing wrong with that advice.
You're learning a new skill, your first few attempts WILL suck. You should waste as little time as possible in your learning phase to make it less painful and time consuming on yourself.
I ignored him for a reason.
Making your own engine is fine if you a) actually work at it and b) set out to learn that kind of programming.
But yes, it adds a significant overhead to the development process at least for a good chunk of it. (though so does learning an engine to some degree)
is this how i do it
Wanting to learn to program and wanting to make your own video game engine are a totally separate task from making a game and a lot of people don't realize it, so it's important to emphasize that.
don't post about your game on Yea Forums
that's the advice
post more "how to draw" pics
