Atelier Ryza

No news of a time limit so far. Are you ready for max comfy?

It's probably similar to Lulua with that, no time limit but there's still a calendar. I would love if they sometimes actually put seasons in the game, but maybe that's too expensive for them. Different seasons would have different things to gather etc.

Reyza is kino as fuck.

You get to play as a cute girl, synthesize medicines and bombs, and beat up monsters.

Talk about lazy, where are the bkinis?

That depends entirely in if you enjoy a game like Atelier. There's tons of slice of life actions between different set of characters, you travel through different looking fields where you battle monsters and gather ingredients. Then you use said ingredients to make items that people require or items such as bombs and potions that you use in battles. The items also have things like quality and traits attached to them that make a whole lot difference how powerful they are.

The games plots don't usually involve anything world destroying epic saga, in certain game you are simply trying to save your sister . In another your goal is to find your mom. There's still some very powerful foes that you will face if you are willing to go to the post game, which can get quite difficult if you up the difficulty. These games are not for people with ADHD. Also the production values might be a turn off for some people as these are not your typical big money games.

Hmm, Arland DX is a solid choice for that.

It's free DLC and you get to see more of her tits. Works for me.

I like the time limits, though.

Start with Rorona

Rorona. If you like that then move on to Totori and Meruru.

You don’t.

Fondling Ryza's Ryzas.

Based
Thanks

I prefer the games with time limits, but it's not a deal-breaker.

did they fix the lack of jiggle physics?

Time limits provided pacing to Atelier games. The Atelier without time limits have braindead grinding as a substitute. This is why not having time limits is shit.

I've never played an Atelier without time limits but that's always what it seemed like it would turn into in theory.

You don't want to know. Just don't start nu-Atelier unless you're masochistic.

Somehow i already miss flat skinny alchemist.

Why? Ryza's amazing. It's some high level waifu alchemy there, I tell you hwat.

I still love you, Totori.

I love you too, user!

I love merururururururu as well

I like grinding games
Give me the best nu atelier

It just feels kinda pointless not having them. I just played Lulua and it still has all the time management aspects from previous Arland games (each item having its own synthesis time, travel time on the world map depending on the location you want to move to, items to cut down on traveling time, warp back to towns and so on) but it's all meaningless baggage now since how much time you spend doesn't matter. The silliest part is that it still took me around two years to finish the main story like it would in Totori and Meruru before the extensions, so they could've had the usual three-year time limit anyway.

There are two things I'd do to fix it while also not restoring the time limit completely: first, have a time limit only decide whether you get the best ending. If you go beyond it, you can keep playing indefinitely, you simply won't get the best ending. Second, like someone else already suggested in this thread, tie the passage of time to more gameplay mechanics and special events. There is already a tiny nugget of that in Lulua, going to a gathering area during the day or night changes which enemies appear, and there are exactly one material and two events tied to which month of the year it is, they should go all-out a la Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing with seasons and seasonal events so that having indefinite time still gives you stuff to look forward to and prepare for.

those assholes charging me for this

but goddamn is this sexy as fuck

I asked in a different thread on /vg/ but is the pc port to Nelke really bad? It's very slow on anything but city charts and conversations. Also, I think this game is pretty fun despite the prevailing opinion that it's a bad atelier game. It helps having never played any of these games before I guess? I just enjoy city building

Ateliers past Sophie don't run so well on a potato, but anything having an RX 570 should be able to run Atelier games well.

It's free for a limited time after launch so technically they don't charge you from the start.

I'm surprised there aren't more comparisons to dead rising's time limit. Both serve their purpose and the gameplay for both series end up changing when the games make the time limit more lax and eventually removing it. Dead rising 4 became a shitty musou clone and the ateliers without it introduce some extra tasks in place of the removed limit.
