Squeenix actually has good writers in their building, writers that can create good characters, with sensical motivations and create good scenarios. Why dont they make them work on the single player stuff?

are you trying to say that tetsuya nomura ISN'T a good writer?

Its painfully obvious hes shit.

Bad management, the thing that has been plaguing the company for eternity at this point.
An example tied to XIV is the fact that it's using the localisation team of XII, wich has immense potential, but that after the rough development of XII was relocated first with The Last Remnant, then with this, while XIII and XV got very basic translator teams.

how can you say that?

While overall the ShB story has been good (and miles better than StB) there are still moments that are very frustrating.
>Literally no reason for the exarch to pretend to be a villain harvesting your light for 90 seconds
>No reason for him to not tell everyone his plan so they can all try and find a solution or at least so they could have protected him while he was doing it
There were one or two others too that were pointless and went against logic because they wanted to build drama/tension. I hate that shit.

Still, overall it's pretty great.

They did and do.

that is literal kindergarten shit tier writing you mongoloid

No

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The character on the left is blind, so the character on the right is explaining the night sky to her.

It's also the first night sky the world has had for about a hundred years, so it's pretty important.

As for the really fucking weird cropping, I have no idea.

user, it was his dream to help you in such a meaningful and epic way. Its autisim. But I commend him for doing it

Redpill me on FFXIV's story. What makes it better?

While a Realm Reborn seems a little flat now, it sets up alot even in its side content. There is the allure that 1.0 is no longer to be played but those of us who have returned remember to tell the stories.
And the story is not just a MMO background for you to quest in and fluff. FFXIV is a RPG upfront and all the content you do has Inuniverse implications and, yea the concept of being the main character in an MMORPG might seem a little offputting at the start. But by the time you reach HW it already feels like your story and everyone has a different way of telling it.
Its a story about stories. And I can not point at any recent fantasy thing that is as expansive to such an autistic degree that everything you can do ingame, even the AOE markers are explained ingame.

XV probably 'had' a great story, but then 75% of it got hit by the chopping block in order to release a fucking game after years of mismanagement.

>Bad management, the thing that has been plaguing the company for eternity at this point.
All management has to do is stop snorting coke from expensive prostitutes. Fuckers can't even think straight.

To be fair Nomura never exclusively writes any of his games. He does create the outline though.

Who's lead writer on FF7 remake?

There was nothing wrong with XIII's localization, if anything it went above and beyond most localizations since they reanimated the character's faces to fit the English voices. It completely lacks the awkward/rushed timings of a lot of dubs. Haven't played XV but I imagine it's similar.

Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to cut off a portion of the game's plot so it could be sold as a CG movie? At least Advent Children was a sequel with its own story.

Honestly what were they thinking?

What the fucks a Sonic

>Honestly what were they thinking?
They were thinking of the old business model EA dropped, which was integrating your big name thing into every media possible (which they did for Dante's Inferno & Dead Space). I'm surprised there wasn't an FFXV novel to go with it.

Reminder they're going to try this again with FF7 remaster, Zack flashback, Wutai sidequest and Vincent past will all be DLC

But there is
finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XV_-The_Dawn_of_the_Future-

Instead of cutting shit out they should just come up with their own extra story, that could maybe developing an existing character. e.g. a Yuffie story about Wutai, or Sephiroth on a mission for Shinra, etc.

There's more to localization than lip sync. I didn't much like FFXII overall but its localization is absolutely amazing. One thing I appreciated(but which 90% of people seem to miss or even criticize for some reason) was the fact that they gave British accents to the Archadians, Russian accents to the Rozarrians, and Indian accents to the Bhujerbans. The political standing and relationships between those nations in the game almost exactly parallel their real-world counterparts during the Cold War.

Yeah but in XIII's case the modern style works just fine given the setting and characters, it wouldn't make sense to make them Shakespearean.

And also Fang/Vanille are given Australian accents because they're from Pulse. The reason stuff like that doesn't shine more is that XIII's setting is woefully underdeveloped in-game.

Ack, you're right, I completely forgot about that(which I guess makes you doubly right in a way).

Also with Vanille in particular can we agree it's not so much Australian as ?????

KH3 is one of the worse written garbage I've ever experienced.
I question how much of it actually comes from the game becoming into a mediocre sequel for and endless series, instead of the culmination of the sage it was going to be, and how much from just having shit writers, though.
