So when is he out?
Also, do you think Erdrick overshadowed him?

nah, XI and VIII are the only hero im going to pick. IV maybe, but personally i cant get into III
>Also, do you think Erdrick overshadowed him?
No, Banjo overshadowed all of these literal whos. Nobody cares about generic anime swordsman #2795, fuck off.
this, now waiting for Shadow to overshadow them all
No but 8 definitely did.
i only know one person irl who cares that banjo is in. most people i know are pretty dissapointed with all 3 dlc characters so far
All the other heroes, Erdrick especially, overshadowed him to me at least, but only because I've been holding out for 11S, so his game is the only I haven't beaten. Once 11S comes out and I can play it, I'm sure i'll appreciate him just as much.
your either retarded or this is bait or both, dragon quest is extremely popular in japan (to the point of having cafes) and has a decent following in the west, if you wanna get mad at anime sword fighters then blame fire emblem fags.
They might do what they did with Joker, and upload a YouTube video that details all about the DQ Heroes and Version 4.0.0. That said though, won’t it need to be soon, because of EVO? There’s something like a minimum one-month adjustment rule for adding game-changing content or updates before the tournament, isn’t there? Could be sometime this week, or an immediate drop afterwards in August.
As for that second question, weren’t a lot of people excited that generally speaking, we got four popular heroes instead of just the latest? I know I was.
I saw him and thought "Unexpected, neat, but I don't care, more jap pandering" Then I saw they were adding the others and got excited, but when I saw my boy VIII get in I got hype. Then completely forgot about it as soon as Banjo was announced, and I still forget most of the rest of E3 because of it.
Opposite for me
Everyone is hype about banjo but only one person gives a fuck about Hero
Probably sometime mid to late July, if I had to guess. August at the latest.
same here
I am going to love killing Banjo players using the hero.
Banjo looks kinda boring to me honestly. He doesn't look like he has much that's super unique about him or anything, but he has just enough gimmicks that he doesn't feel like he fits with the original cast like I was kind of hoping he would. The hero on the other hand looks like they crammed 4 characters into one, not just in costumes, but in specials as well. At least Banjo makes some people happy I guess.
What gimmicks? It's just them using their moves.
Eight overshadowed him, if that's what you mean
I'm excited for his gameplay but I also just fucking hate Dragon quest games, god, they're the worst parts of every JRPG combined
> people confused eight with chrono cross protag
big fucking oof
My absolute negro
probably the very end of july
They gave him enough screentime that I don't think any of them overshadowed the other. Showing the luminary and Erdrick tag teaming people in the trailer was top tier.
And fucking soon I hope. Dude has 16 sepcials and some of them look like they can be charged. Probably going to end up a main for me since I love that kind of "a tool for every situation" type character.
The golden feather thing. That doesn't look like a move a character would have back in 64 or Melee, and Banjo would seem cooler to me if he had the design philosophy of those games as a 'making up for lost time' kind of thing. Same goes for the grenade egg and moving while shooting eggs. I guess gimmick isn't really the right word, but rather he has moves that feel to akin to newer Smash games, but they don't really wow me like some of the really inventive stuff they came up with for other characters. Banjo to me is in a weird middle ground of being both too simple and not simple enough.
And the protagonists are lame uninteresting mutes. I hate no personality mutes. Especially in voice acted games like DQ11 where the main hero comes off as a mentally deficient autist because he chooses not to talk, but all the other characters do and treat him like some great sociable guy. This old vid sums up every single mute main lead in any videogame:
youtube.com
Coincidentally another Akira Toriyama main lead.
Hopefully soon.
By people, do you mean one guy? Because I have literally never seen this.
user...
you like kissing boys...
That could have been done in 64 or Melee if Banjo was in them. That's just how the move works.
why is android 17 so popular?
he jobbed like a bitch to the worst form of cell
>Banjo overshadowed all of these literal whos.
No one in the west even remembered Banjo existed until the Smash hype brought him back. Then, like Geno and K Rool, they all acted like they were always huge Banjo fans.
We only got Banjo because Japan kept voting for him on the official smash polls. They're bigger Rare fans than the west is. And every Rare character they've asked for has been put into the game now except Krystal. And you can kind of count Krystal because she's an Assist Trophy. The irony that all the Banjo "fans" keep ragging on Japan when Japanese fans are the reason he got in.
And when it comes to Dragon Quest, it's about to become a lot more popular in the west because it's featured in Smash. Can't use that excuse anymore.
At the very least, Dragon Quest is getting games
>H-h-h-he was never popular
Hoes mad
I didn't even know people still played dragon quest games
they were always that "generic in the background" series for me
>H-h-h-he was never popular
Not what he said. In fact, he said Banjo was popular. In Japan. And that he was largely forgotten in the west. Which he was, because he hadn't gotten a good new game in 20 years.
Could you please stop that. Being in Smash does NOT mean a series becomes more popular. Bayonetta is in Smash, more than once, and her games still don't sell great and many people still see her as a genderbent knock off of Dante who is the original face of 3D Action games. And don't expect Bayonetta 3 to somehow sell great either.
Bayonetta 2 was on Nintendo's worst performing console. And it still sold about as much as Bayonetta 1. Which means it actually did see an increase.
When it comes to Dragon Quest, the series already sells well. It's one of the best selling JRPG series in the west. And that's without marketing support. SquareEnix has finally woken up and they're giving Dragon Quest XI and Builders 2 marketing. For the first time in the series history, they showed a Dragon Quest game at E3. And they had the Dragon Quest Hero announcement for Smash at E3, rather than at a Japanese event like TGS. And they threw in Dragon Quest VIII content into Smash and Dragon Quest XI, precisely because Dragon Quest VIII is the most popular DQ game in the west.
For the first time in 30 years, Enix is actually putting in the effort to get Dragon Quest popular in the west. But really, the ultimate proof will just be time. What we can say is, all the anti Eldrick Smash fags have already increased people's awareness of Dragon Quest more in 6 months than 30 years worth of fan word of mouth has. And when Hero finally comes out, a lot of people are going to try him and go "I don't get why there was so much hate? He's pretty fun. I want to try some Dragon Quest games now." So for all the people who hate Dragon Quest, thanks for all the free marketing. Please keep it up.
There's plenty of reason to actually hate Dragon Shit. Lame art style of "We're tooootally not Dragon Ball Z guys!" mute uninteresting lame heroes, stupid waifu bullshit just like Persona, very stagnant repetitive gameplay, BAD music by design because Sugiyama wants to sell orchestra music separately so the first time you buy it you get Midi and need to BUY AGAIN the same shitty game to get decent quality music, and finally the stories are generic JRPG trash. There's a reason FF became the global top tier elite JRPG and Dragon Shit stayed behind and you fantards will love a shit series.
And if you think being in Smash means "Dragon Quest is now going to outsell Final Fantasy and ESPECIALLY FF7 Remake" think again you retard. Even FF9 one of the poorest selling FF games is better received that Dragon Shit.
Nah the hero in XI is a wet blanket
Not sure how I quantify this since all the heroes are silent, but you just know
Great game though. It's the other characters who make it. Sylvando especially.
It's hilarious hiow every DQ thread, we get an idiot like this. Who parrots all the decades old rumors and opinions he heard in previous threads. Which have been proven wrong countless times. And just prove he doesn't actually know about the series besides those often repeated things.
>And if you think being in Smash means "Dragon Quest is now going to outsell Final Fantasy and ESPECIALLY FF7 Remake"
No one ever said this. In fact, people have only talked about Dragon Quest selling better compared to itself. Never bringing up other series. The fact that you have to resort to this shows your insecurities.
>Even FF9 one of the poorest selling FF games is better received that Dragon Shit.
FFIX is not one of the poorest selling FF games. And since when does fan hype = sales? The most hated FF games from fans are XIII and XV. And they're also some of the highest selling. There goes your logic.
whatever, faggots, ignore the fact that hero could be dropping really soon and argue about dumb bullshit
It's just anti Eldrick fags crying. Actual DQ fans will just play it when it comes out. They're not the ones making or contributing to these threads.
