it's clear game freak don't care about pokemon anymore. they know they'll make money no matter how poor of a product they shit out, so there's no incentive for them to bother. they know that shit like town will never be as popular as pokemon, but they're still putting their effort into it to try and at least get decent success without all the pokemon baggage because they'll always have that easy pokemon money to fall back on
I mean fuck, they could stop making pokemon games all together and just introduce new pokemon through the tv show and I'm sure they'd continue making boatloads of money.
