No, guns suck. Trust me. I just did a firearms build and it's pointless, you don't get more damage than melee and your accuracy will never go high enough that you can hit consistently from even medium range. And anything that can shoot at you from range will 100% be doing more damage, so you're better off just rushing them down. The ONLY thing guns were useful for was the final boss, which basically requires you to shoot it.

Not from start to finish, no. But the guns towards the end are strong. I'd put some points into firearms even though you'll end up just punching or clobbering things up until Hollywood because only guns available in the first two hubs are unusuable shite.

By the end of the game you'll be glad you put points into firearms.

You won't make the game unbeatable. You're fine. It's not a hard game, just put a couple points in melee and you'll do enough damage. With research books and NPC training you can have guns and melee maxed out by the end of the game. Just don't hardcore dedicate into guns until later on when you get ones that are actually useful, namely the deagle and autoshotgun.

The final bosses can be stupid hard without guns. Just saying, don't fuck your build up.
