Exclusives are good for the industry. They promote competition and force companies to come up with new IPs. They drive console sales which creates revenue for making new games. When a game is a multiplat on all platforms, companies don't need to compete with it because they know it will come to their console. But when an exclusive game is wildly successful, it promotes competing console companies to come up with new games and new IPs to try and be even better than it, and perhaps even inadvertently create a genre leader. If every game was guaranteed to be a multiplat, companies like Sony and Nintendo would have no incentive to use their personal wealth in the funding of new games, and all games would be bottom of the barrel shit like sports games, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed sequels, etc.

OP is a fag
Not an argument, faggots.
The OP imahe doesn't have a right thumb but has 5 fingers and 1 of them disappears into oblivion
Why has there never once been an Animal Crossing clone for other platforms, then? It's one of Nintendo's best-selling properties, shouldn't that be forcing competition?
I'm scrolling through, quick replying and refreshing
I aint got time to read your words, B^Uckly
Kill yourself
exclusives are dumb
you are purposely making less money out of choice
>Satania
No, you kys.
cringe
your right and the average mongoloid how browses this site is too stupid to understand that. If you want an example look at fucking sega. Think of all the crazy and fun shit they developed during the dreamcast era and before, now they have what, Yakuza? besides that i can't name a single good game they actually develop in house
>exclusives are dumb
Cool so when is Sony and PC getting ports of BOTW and Smash?
they are inhouse ips by the brand thats trying to sell you a console
third party games have no fucking excuse in being exclusive
youtu.be
Smash is next
>back then most games were made for 1 platform (ported by other developers later after release if ported at all)
>working on 1 platform gave then more time and resources to make a polish game and refine content
>with a smaller budget it gave them a lot of creative freedom to make wacky weird games
>7th gen more and more developers going multiplatform
>working on multiple platforms meant requiring a lot more money and developers
>a lot more money meant less creative risk and developers pushing DLC and microtransactions to recoup the costs
>making a game for a larger audience went you had to dumb down and streamline mechanics for a majority of people to understand
Is there any good argument for multiplatform development except MUH EVERYONE GETS TO PLAY!
Exclusives are good for the industry when the console manufacturer funds a project that otherwise would not exist like bayonetta 2 or bloodborne. Exclusives are bad when a game is already being funded andf made and then a console manufacturer pays them money specifically to not release it on other platforms.
Except when the console company has a large financial role in their development. Also game devs creating a game and optimising it for one console only means they can focus on getting the most out of that console and having it run perfectly on that console, rather than wasting time and effort on making multiple ports that all run at mediocre levels.
But I'm guessing you're more of the "it's okay when nintendo does it" sort of person
>anime poster saying exclusives are good
how much do all your subscriptions cost, surely you aren't spouting this horseshit while pirating.
I pirate everything on PC because I can. If a game is on console, I don't pirate because I have to pay for it. It just adds to my point that exclusives are better for the business.
Yeah, no one has to buy 4 different consoles to play whatever they want whenever they want. A switch, xbox, and playstation all together are easily more expensive than a PC, while a PC can take anything you throw at it
Exclusives are bad for the industry. The competition should be on hardware and services provided, not on who got the best games.
People are retard corporate bootlikers for being mad at exclusives going multiplat while that changes NOTHING except that now more people will get to play the game.
Post data that supports your claims, like how the Bloodborne PS4 bundle outsold the regular PS4 box (oh wait that didn't happen) or how Bayonetta 2 sold better than Bayonetta 1 (oh wait that didn't happen either), etc.
>He doesn't have all consoled, handheld and top of the line mobile device on top of having a PC
Stay poor, neet
But I'm a wagecuck at $17/h
Smash out sold Bayonetta despite being on 1 console. check mate
I shouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars on video game systems to be able to play the games I want to play.
>$17/h
LMAO, I'll pay you 50/h to shut the fuck up
And Tetris outsold both of them combined despite being on tons of systems.
I get what you're saying OP, and from a business competition standpoint I agree, but it's shitty for the consumer
>They promote competition and force companies to come up with new IPs.
*Pay for exclusivity
Why shouldn't you? its not anybody fault that you can't afford it
$17 is good for a wagie. Minimum wage is $7.25. If you're going to insult him, insult him for being a wagie.
Nigga I don't give a fuck about the industry, I just want Bloodborne on PC REEEEEEEEE
Tetris sucks so who cares
>why shouldn't you
because a consumer shouldn't support anti-consumer business practices
so does smash and bayo
>He got brainwashed by the industry, thinking he's missing out if he doesn't have every new console and every new game and that hapiness can obly be obtained by materialism
oof and yikes
>anti consumer
>buying a PC that twice the price of a console
>mad that it got no games
its not anti consumer, you just retarded
>focuses entire argument on one thing when the discussion is about video games in general, which includes consoles and handhelds too
>happiness can't be obtained with materialism
Have sex user, oh you can't because nobody want a broke ass loser as a life partner
ya probably cant use the bayonetta example, since platnium already said that 2 was never going to be made to begin with if nintendo didn't fund it as an exclusive.
And I want Demon's on PC just so I don't have to rely on private servers for multiplayer these days, but I don't see it happening.
How tech illiterate are you to not know how to pirate on console
at least he actually has an example, unlike the op
Because only PCfag like to port begging to justified their $2000 indie games machine.
Most people are so tech illiterate that one "how to" google search is too high a hurdle for them to jump.
wow op you make so much sense, unfortunately for you, you are posting this on 4channel, where logic and facts go straight out the window.
so NOT based, i repeat, NOT based.
Keep telling that yourself while you waste your money on useless stuff the industry tells you to buy, things that will only make you happy for a couple of days before you waste your money on MORE useless stufd, while I find true hapiness in the sinplicity of nature
Just like time, money spent on something you enjoy is not wasted.
There are plenty of amazing multiplatform games, I can survive without Bloodborne, Mario 69 or Forza 14 if it means this exclusive fanboyism mentality stop.
No one is arguing against exclusives. But there are countless 'genre leaders' that came out as Multiplatform. Fornite is on every console, so is PUBG, and they were the OG battle royales
>forces companies to come up with new IPs
That isn't really true, in fact what console exclusives have done is given us the same stale IP's over and over and over again, and the few that haven't survived died after maybe 2 or 3 installments because they weren't making enough money on their single plat.
>If every game was guaranteed to be a multiplat, companies like Sony and Nintendo would have no incentive to use their personal wealth in the funding of new games, and all games would be bottom of the barrel shit like sports games, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed sequels, etc.
Okay this whole statement just proves how retarded you are lol
