if you play on official matchmaking, sometimes yeah, they'll pop up, but it's much easier to detect now so they tend to get banned real quick. Most people have moved on to non valve matchmaking servers though and they take that shit seriously and will log your IP and dox you and shit instead of just banning you, so people tend not to do things that are easily tracked.

Gmod just sucks when it comes to prop welds. Some weird physics gimmick instead of solidifying an object as a single piece. It makes for hilarious results though.
