OG Xbox was better than PS2 in every way, yet why didn't developers make more games for it instead for PS2?
OG Xbox was better than PS2 in every way, yet why didn't developers make more games for it instead for PS2?
Because ps2 was the best selling console of all time? Use your brain.
Get raped and kill yourself, you retarded fucking tranny faggot sack of nigger shit with down syndrome.
Well of course it was when developers ignored Xbox and made games for Playstation. Like why didn't Rockstar first release GTA's for Xbox?
>No future xbox console ever got the same support from Tecmo and Sega
The xbox line had so much potential but they fucked all of it up with the 360.
You're mean.
sadly xbox was released way too late.
>Brand new western console that hasn’t proven itself yet
Vs
>The sequel to the playstation which was the best selling console of all time back then
I wonder why...
>halo combat evolved
>mechassault 2
>fable
>jade empire
yeah it was based
That's just four games, PS2 had like hundred great games and hundreds of decent games
Shit eating nigtard
>Jet set radio future
>Ninja gaiden
>Dead or alive 3
>Panzer dragoon orta
>Shin megami tensei nine
>Voodoo vince
>Phantom dust
>Blinx
>Crimson skies
>Fuzion frenzy
OG xbox was cool as fuck
To be fair developers warmed up to it over time once it became obvious that it was a success with Halo. The major problem aside from brand recognition was that Microsoft couldn't convince enough of the big Japanese developers (which still conquered a big share of the market back then) to release their big games for the Xbox. There's varying reasons as to why, of course, but on a publisher level there was still work to be done on Microsoft's part.
Because the PS2 sold like gangbusters right from the get go (the pre-launch hype alone nearly killed the Dreamcast by itself), developing for it was a safe bet with a guaranteed audience of a fucking lot of people. Microsoft couldn't even remotely touch that kind of immediate momentum, there was little guarantee the thing would even sell enough to last past a couple holiday seasons and the much-vaunted online features were basically a leap of faith since the required broadband connectivity simply wasn't widespread enough at the time.
do you want me to list hundreds of games or something? I just listed the ones on the top of my head
>OG Xbox was better than PS2 in every way, yet why didn't developers make more games for it instead for PS2?
Except in games. Also it nickeled and dimed you a lot more.
>Shin Megami Tensei xbox exclusive
that just blew my fucking mind out my anus and put a hole in the wall behind me.
im 100 % sure that even devs looked at this chunky boi here and just noped the fuck out.
I played with that controller as a kid and it was "interesting" to put it that way
>Like why didn't Rockstar first release GTA's for Xbox?
GTA 3 was originally a launch title for Xbox and Rockstar were considering just putting it on Xbox because it ran like shit on PS2 kits while it was flying on the Xbox dev kits (When it released on Xbox it supported a native 720p. It was 224p on PS2). But post Columbine. Microsoft felt uneasy about it as a launch title because the bad press could sink the system and bet on Halo instead (Which they wanted a T-Rating for but Bungie decided the M-Rating was enough). Sony swooped in with a moneyhat to keep it and Vice City off PC and Xbox for a long time.
Only released in japan but there is a translation for the neutral-neutral route.
Because Microsoft stopped subsidizing devs before Sony stopped the same practice.
Both companies had the program where they subsidized any and all devs to create games for their platforms with as much creativity as possible, and even provided programming advice service for free.
Microsoft pulled out first, followed by Sony between the PS2 and PS3 era.
Because it's was a cheap DVD player that could also play videogames, brainlet.
Fuck off, the duke was great. I even got the xbox one version. And the slim controller came within the year, if I remember correctly.
This, MS really had the odds against them when they decided to enter the market, so it really wasn’t realistic to expect that they would ”win” the 6th generation with their console. The fact that they managed to establish a good enough foothold and brand recognition that allowed for success with the next console release was a great accomplishment on itself, I don’t think that even MS themselves could have asked for more.
I always thought the white and black buttons where cool when i was younger, i don't know why that was the standout for me.
I always loved the duke over the fragile as fuck ps2 controller. The duke could be used to beat someone to death, hammer in a nail, then exist until the heat death of the universe. Ps2's virgin controller creaked and groaned by gripping it and pressing the buttons hard enough were enough to break them. I know this because half the buttons on my ps2 controller are fucked from playing burnout and ace combat and armored core. My xbox controllers are all pristine. Only retarded idea about it was the memory card went into the controller.
Except for its build quality which was rubbish, and the controller which sucked, and its software lineup which wasn't anywhere near as good.
this is a controller for people with big hands and therefore a big penis, this is a chad's controller
Japanese ignored it for not being domestic, without japanese games you're ignoring at least 3/4 of good games ever released. Only ones who contributed were Sega who were immensely butthurt at the pse for killing them off
The Duke was fucking ace. I had both a PS2 and an Xbox as a kid and I went through maybe 6-7 different PS2 controllers, I still have my original Duke and it works absolutely fine to this day.
It got some good Jap stuff though. Breakdown from Namco is a great game. I wish I could play it on PC.
This is a controller for people who like mad max: fury road and therfore are a weird ogre that lives in a basement, this is an ogre’s controller.
Tecmo supported it a shit ton too.
some of the best games of the gen were developer for xbox like splinter cell and chaos theory. the xbox was so much more powerful than the ps2 they had to downgrade the games so far it actually was embarrassing. the ps2 was the target hardware because it was simply weaker.
>Ninja Gaiden Black
Yeah, this makes up for at least 10 low effort Squeenix JRPGs on PS2
It's sad when people like OP can't use their brains properly
Hundred of games that no one plays these days because they aged like milk.
