How do you feel about roadmaps in early access games like Risk of Rain 2?
How do you feel about roadmaps in early access games like Risk of Rain 2?
I like them, but only if they give hints so we can speculate about the updates' content.
They're ok as long as they're not retarded like RoR2's
Can anyone tell me why the Thicc Mod doesn't work? Is it not working in the current version of the game?
Why is it early access again?, 1 was a huge success, and
>published by gearbox.
So wtf?
>Why is it early access again?
because they don't consider it a polished finished product
>Is it not working in the current version of the game?
Yes.
Modanon's made Ryuuko for Merc and Nonon for Arti for this patch already, look through the archive if you're interested.
because it has conter for like 4 hours
it's their first 3D game, i imagine the help they're getting is invaluable
>i imagine the help they're getting is invaluable
no, they're still just 2 dudes coding and gearbox's QA team is G A R B A G E. they spent a fucking week figuring out that the runs break if they last over an hour. a fucking week, and they're a dedicated QA team
Ah, okay. Thanks user
I love it so long as they stick to it. Which RoR2 has done so far.
Do you remember how little faith everyone had that they could pull it off in 3D? I'd imagine the devs felt the same way. You can see in the patch notes just how many changes are suggested by players.
It's their first 3d game, and their first attempt at releasing a genuinely balanced game (RoR1 wasn't even close to being well balanced and they knew it). They want to involve the community so that the game is as well balanced as possible upon its 1.0 release.
The patches are a little infrequently, arguably, but they've implemented a shitload of stuff based on community feedback. They've handled EA well, shitty gearbox QA aside.
>their first attempt at releasing a genuinely balanced game
Yeah I doubt that.
And listening to the community is the last thing you want to do if you want to achieve actual balance.
>Yeah I doubt that.
You're right, that's why they're putting actual thought into the patch notes, and frequently asking the community how they feel about the game's balance.
>And listening to the community is the last thing you want to do if you want to achieve actual balance.
Oh, right, because everybody but you is retarded. You're totally correct user, Hopoo alone should try to balance the game. I mean, why shouldn't they? I would love a game that releases with six overpowered whites like Stickies/Guillotines, two overpowered lunars like GotD, a handful of worthless classes like Artificer, and one elite type that's skullfuckingly strong while every other elite type is useless. Hopoo is clearly so excellent at balancing the game.
No, faggot. People autistically theorycraft this game to hell and play it for hundreds of hours. Hopoo doesn't. Community feedback is good.
>put game in early access
>don't let your players test upcoming updates
hopoo you dumb fucks
The updates *are* tests, user. That's what early access is. Every build in early access is essential open beta; incomplete, possibly buggy, and always susceptible to change.
We're literally testing the game every time we launch it. Do you know what you signed up for when you bought this game?
Look at stickies
Look at guillotines
Look at medkits
Look at brooch
Look at aegis
You know I can go on.
And no, it's because the community will never decide on anything and everything will be contradictory.
According to the devs, it's literally not.
It's a finished patch, nothing more to do with it. Bugs? QA handles that, not the community.
I despise the tethering to Gearbox's QA.
>Game being tested for weeks
>QA approves after finding a big bug
>Play the game for two minutes
>Merc has a major bug for his dash
Fucking charlatans.
gotta best bl3
ror2? whats that?
I promise you there is nothing wrong with guillotines unless you're playing single player.
>Look at stickies
Nerfed due to community feedback.
>Look at guillotines
100% going to be nerfed due to community feedback.
>Look at medkits
>Look at brooch
>Look at aegis
These are fine.
>And no, it's because the community will never decide on anything and everything will be contradictory.
Except for the fact that the most recent patch was literally 70% community suggestions. Arti/Merc buffs, item buffs, QoL changes, all of that shit. They even put an icon next to community ideas so that you can visualize how much community feedback impacts the game.
>According to the devs, it's literally not.
Citation needed.
Oh my god you're the autist that was arguing up a storm yesterday. Fuck off retard, I don't have the patience to deal with your dumb shit and insults.
Roadmaps are shit and I hate them. I played Destiny and their roadmaps are a perfect example of why developers should either have daily/weekly updates or just radio silence until the next update. A roadmap creates this weird in between shit where weeks could go by with nothing happening and then a month randomly drops a shit ton of content. It also create more outrage when dates are pushed back or some promised content is going to be cut.
>hurr i'm fucking retarded, i'll shitpost every single day then scurry off the instant someone demonstrates how wrong i am
Great, thanks for contributing, now kill yourself.

They never pan out
Just look at KF2 and how they said Early Access would last 4 months only but they instead took years and added micro transactions before adding all 6 original classes
I don't remember KF2 having a roadmap.
Before KF2 released all the devs ever talked about was
>We're doing Early Access right
>The game will be fully released by December
Stop responding to me. And anyone in general.
I'll gladly discuss these matters with anyone but you. Even sônyggers.
What I've seen of your discussions was absolutely retarded, Yea Forums's quality would improve tenfold if you were gone.
Well I remember that, just not a roadmap. Remember the martial artist that was promised? Man I was so looking forward to that.
I'll always be here nigga. Don't post stupid shit and I won't bother you so much. Seems pretty simple to me, but then again, it's hard for me to imagine what it's like to be functionally retarded.
>some one counters you with facts
>fucking autists
you got told user im sorry
>Finally fucking found an aurelionite shrine
>It was on a run where I picked up Brittle Crown for shits and giggles
>Got him to 50% and got wiped
Can't help but feel it's like a wasted effort. The shrines are so unbelievably rare with no trigger that I don't even feel motivated to keep trying, only annoyed that it wasn't on a good run.
On a sidenote, good god I hate Brittle Crown. There's so many wisps right now that it's hard to stay above water.
Even without the weird wisp bug thing, brittle crown is really terrible. I don't know why you would pick it up more than once.
Why would you ever pick up Brittle Crown? That item's completely detrimental.
Last call, 2/10.
See, I always told everyone that but I had really only picked it up way back when as Merc. Figured, I'll play MUL-T and use it. Gatling gun oughta fucking ruin enemies and give me loads of money. And it did, to a point.
But then a lemurian shot me and it dropped by 200, seemingly. Just insanity.
>phone call kills blessed run
