Unpopular Opinion Thread

I think New Vegas has a bad soundtrack. I don't mean the radio, I mean the original soundtrack that plays when you're on missions, or out exploring the Mojave.

I dont think thats a very unpopular opinion because i share it
Also Fallout 3 main theme > Fallout: New Vegas main theme

Most of NV's ambient soundtrack is straight from 1 and 2. It was made many many years before NV came out, so it makes sense why it doesn't fit.

They use a lot of the original songs. However, giving the NCR song shit is a bad opinion.

Speaking of bad soundtracks, I really don’t get the love for RDR2 in this regard. People always talk about how awesome the songs are during story moments, but the music you hear during free roam is so boring and sparse. It’s the worst soundtrack I’ve played in an open world game, the music just adds basically nothing to the atmosphere.

The only good track from New Vegas is Radiation Storm from The Glow. Weird how it only plays inside the Lucky 38 Suite though.

There's this one soundtrack in RDR2's ambiance that I like, everything else is just kinda meh?

The original tracks by Inon Zur are generic garbage for plebs

I like the Fallout 3 music you hear in Novac

TP is best Zelda

It's alright. I like the background music in Primm, it's calming.

I think Brawl's mechanical changes were made in a naive attempt to balance the game through universal changes rather than prevent competitive play. I doesn't make sense for Sakurai to try to prevent something he probably wasn't even aware of.

Fallout 3 had a really great soundtrack, so hearing NV's soundtrack after hearing FO3's soundtrack really makes you realize just how boring it is. Isn't it mostly just war drums?

I'm honestly concerned that the Skyrim fans will be as toxic to TES VI fans, just as the Morrowind and Oblivion fans were to them, signaling that the cycle of "old good new bad" tribalism will never ever end.

Objectively looking, how much worse can things get after Skyrim?

Fallout 4

I actually really liked the reuse of the original FO1/FO2 soundtracks to locations in NV. However the issue is that there are plenty of other areas where it just uses generic shit by (((Inon Zur))), and I hate the jarring contrast. I wish the original NV tracks had simulated a similar dark industrial ambient theme as the FO1/2 tracks so that they'd all fit together seemlessly.

Not at all. The only objective truth here is that the games are practically sidegrades of one-another, not straight up upgrades or downgrades.
Besides, considering that Bethesda is putting the majority of their focus and resources into Starfield, a brand new IP, and will perhaps be used to introduce all-new mechanics and engine as well, just like how Half Life 2 is practically a Source engine demo in the first two hours of gameplay.
If this is going to be a "Bethesda bad" circlejerk, I'd rather hear none of it, reddit and tumblr both do it to death.

>unironically using the word toxic
they implement some kind of mechanic that's a great idea on paper, but completely fail to execute it properly, and makes the entire game worse as a result

I've never seen anyone give a shit about RDR2s OST. RDR1 on the other hand has a fucking 10/10 OST.

so how does one pronounce falafel?
>fall-a-fell
or
>fa-laugh-fel

I like the hoover dam theme. It really sets the mood for the coming battle. The rest of the soundtrack is quite forgettable tho.

Learn the difference between score and soundtrack, retards

In what world do people praise the main questline? It's a chain of fetch quests leading to two OP weapons, a stat-boosting crippling illness, and a bunch of NPCs stammering in awe of you. The point is that everyone opts out of the main questline to do their own shit like join factions, kill the hell out of Vivec and decorate his temple in skulls and Daedric weapons.
also the combat is so easy to exploit and make always-accurate attacks out of that it's not worth complaining about unless you prefer ripose-and-evasion-heavy combat

Fuh-LAW-ful.

*AW-FUL

I never wrote the word toxic though

I will be honestly impressed if Bethesda manages to dumb down Elder Scrolls even more.
I cannot think of anything that could be added/removed that would make things worse.

Destiny and Destiny 2 weren't actually that bad at any point. In fact, they were pretty good, and have only gotten better.

Easy
>skills further simplified to just three: warrior, thief, and mage
>dialogue wheel and voiced protagonist (and you don't even get different voices for each race)
>only 1 town in the game, told to build your own settlements and populate them with generic NPCs
>all quests are radiant fetchquests
>chests at the end of dungeons are all replaced with lootcrates
>all mods are through creation club only

>Tfw Inon Zur will probably compose the soundtrack for Elder Scrolls 6

I fucking hate this fag. His tracks are bland garbage. I have no idea how Bethesda looked at the original fallout games and said "you know what would be a good fit for this? inon zur"

they could've at least had jeremy soule do something for FO3/4 instead.

They probably picked him because of his Fallout Tactics soundtrack which is pretty close to the original in terms of feel and sound.

>caring about Bethesdashit after the colossal failures of fallout 4 and 76

you're wrong

Why is Fallout 4 considered a bad game? I've had fun with it, and 76 seems to be heading into a replayable and stable version, or so its regular players tell me.

>5 atoms have been deposited into your account

great and mature counter-argument, user.

It's not that they're old and don't fit, I actually enjoy NV's OST but it's so FUCKING repetitive and full blast all the god damn time without end that it gets tedious.

and kids would fucking love it

I've never cared for the non-licensed tracks in any of those old RPGs either. Fallout 1, 2 and the ambient tracks of Arcanum. So no, didn't care for the non-radio music of Fallout NV. Not that it's in the way or anything.

The whole 20 minutes of sad violin music in Arcanum is the exception.
