I tried it once hated it and wondered why anyone would waste their time on it? There is little to no strategy and its pretty much all watching rng play out how is that fun?

its more like a card game than a moba. the economy management aspect and is moba like, but trying to beat the rng to get to late game with proper comps and item combos feels exactly like a card game. except you dont have to buy card packs and theres tangible fighting happening for the visual

i only played tft since i play league, but its so barebones in terms of UI, and item rng is busted right now with tons of weird bugs that stun your character and items that straight up doesnt work that i dont feel like its a legitimate good contender atm outside of brand name recognition

there is def strategy, for example i was blowing dicks in one match early on because i was saving gold to reroll for an ultra rare unit, then i got him to complete my 4 unit class bonus and it gave my team double damage. i slapped 3 items on my strongest backliner and he completely butt fucked every enemy and i came back with a quarter of my hp

RNG removes skill. AutoChess is purely RNG, just like those shitty card games, and therefor takes no skill, and as such isn't worth even installing. There are VNs that give you more choices.
