New puzzles, outfits and all that.
Layton's Mystery Journey Deluxe Edition coming west November 8th
Ok I love the news, but who the fuck is that girl and where is Professor Layton?
Wow another fake fan getting triggered for a game he doesn't even play
Katrielle is Layton's daughter. I could tell you where Professor Layton is but that would defeat the whole point since he disappeared and she looks for him.
Might as well copy-paste the page:

oh my
didn't this game suck ass compared to the regular Layton entries?
I'm not sure whether actual new outfits have been added over the 3DS version, most of the ones in that picture are recolors of existing outfits (which only had one color scheme each on 3DS). Still, it sounds like they added all of those as proper in-game unlockables while in the Japanese version they had to be unlocked by scanning little charms (like the cupcake one next to "Sweet sweets" in the picture) via the NFC reader.
Hopefully they're not far away from announcing a sequel now.
It's been 2 years since this game technically, with the 3DS version, so hopefully they've been working on something. Though they might be busy with bringing the other games to Switch as well.
The same localization company that put up credits for Mystery Journey a few months ago, basically soft-leaking today's announcement, also put up credits for a Switch version of The Curious Village.
God I want to fug Katrielle so hard, only for Layton to come home early and murder me for touching his daughterfu.
Not as good as old Layton IMO.
I'm thinking of getting this but I feel this game will mock me for being a brainless moron every new puzzle.
This isn't a mean-spirited franchise at all, even if you get a puzzle wrong, the game encourages you to try again and gives you a little nudge towards how to approach it.
Not sure if this game has them but you can always use the coins to cheese it.
Yes, it still has the three hints + super hint system and you can find tons of hint coins in the environments.
I can't wait to SOLVE PUZZLES and DRESS UP
For some reason I've managed to miss out on every single layton game except mask of miracles despite really wanting to play them since the first one.
The first two (Curious Village and Diabolical Box) recently got mobile HD remasters if you're okay with that.
It's still not enough content to justify a repurchase. I'll be waiting for a new game at some point.
>lose a puzzle
>reset the game before it saves
>don't lose any picarats
heh, who's the smart one now
Knowing Layton games, you could sell your OG copy and preorder the new, and have cash leftover
