tbf I stopped playing football sims regularly after PES 2015, but I did play a fair bit of FIFA 18. imo it mostly beats out PES in stuff like dribbling and flair, but passing and ball control feels way more fluid in PES for me (might be from having more experience on PES).
All that aside, I just like being able to shift your backline, choosing your runs and where to play 1-2s way too much for me to prefer FIFA over PES.
also PES 2011 had beautiful passing, even if super assisted

I actually wouldn't mind if it were PES. I haven't played any sports game in a decade and had fun with the series at the time. I was planning on resubbing PS+ for Death Stranding alone anyway. This would actually give me a reason to use my PS4 a bit more. I pretty much stopped once I built myself a PC. But I guess that's out of the window and Sony has disappointed me yet again. It's actually impressive how much I disagree with their decisions lately, even the smallest things.

This hits the nail on the head. Heavy Rain is funny because it's aged terribly and the story and acting is bad. Beyond is boring garbage that you cannot even laugh at because it's so dull. Detroit is a weird mix of stuff being unintentionally funny and hitting the mark, the best of them all. I'd play Heavy Rain and Detroit if you're interested in enjoyable trainwrecks.
