AMD FAILS AGAIN
People actually waited to build their gaming PCs for this

damn my 6700k is starting to lag behind, guess I need to bump my OC a tad
only legitimate thing i could think of is comparability
also, i wonder how much power the two use and how hot they get
>199$ dollar cpu vs 1k$ and 350$ cpu
I don't see the problem, isn't that really good for an entry-level cpu?
How is that entry level. That's 300+ dollars.
yeah, and you need to replace the $199 after 2 years with another one that costs the same, whereas the $350 will last for 4 years or more
t. someone who used AMD for all his components for years and swore by them before finally making the switch and seeing how shit they were all along
what the hell are you on about?
the processor itself is 200,and you can use it with older mobos dude
cpu.userbenchmark.com
AMD uses less energy, so I assume it's also cooler. Overall, it is at face value the better value.
>processors last 4 years tops
Do you use them to fry eggs or something what the fuck
based renderfag
I've literally had the same AMD cpu for almost 8 years pal.
have an old macbook unibody that's 11 years old and still runs
fairly sure my grandfather has a laptop that's 14-15 that still does
>""Leaked"" benchmark done by a huehue who straight up admit he had a hardware failure during the AMD bench
>Comparing mid-range to high-range
>Comparing different price classes as they were the same
I like Intel, but this is beyond retarded
>trying to build a new high end PC
>everything is covered in pointless power wasting LEDs now
>even the fucking RAM
I want to be able to sleep at night without my computer turning the room into a fucking disco.
i didn't im waiting to see how 3700x fares
The cpu is 200 dollars. Are you getting paid to lie about this?
So just... don't buy any of that shit? It's not like the shit without LEDs on it isn't just better anyway. The best components aren't even marketed toward "gamers" because workstations require components that actually aren't shit.
>buying workstation shit to play video games
please don't tell me you do this
>gaming PC
You save over $100 for the same performance. Looks like AMD FINALLY did something right. A shame it took them so many years to make a quality product at the right price.
>comparing a 300$ cpu to a 1k$+ cpu
>one of them is energy efficient, the other explodes your electric bill
durr
Where did you see a $300 CPU? Ryzen 3600 is $200, at best $250 for 3600X which is irrelevant since it's not in the OP pic.
The problem is it's getting harder and harder to find components that don't have that shit. With RAM there are plenty of options, but when motherboards and water cooling units do it too it's harder to find alternatives.
>have an old macbook unibody that's 11 years old and still runs
and you play games on it? because that's what we're talking about, this is Yea Forums, not /g/
>water cooling
it's zoomer shit so it's ok to pack it with leds
>and you play games on it? because that's what we're talking about
completely irrelevant because you're actually talking about CPUs, not vidya
all that matters is how much i've used the CPU, and boy does it get hot
>this is Yea Forums, not /g/
yeah, i know, you're too fucking stupid for that
I literally cannot think of a single reason to buy "gaming" ram or a "gaming" mobo. It's like buying a fucking gamer chair.
you can disable rgb on your bios probably. i disabled mine on first boot
Intcel Cope
>water cooling units
Kek'ed at the "real deal overclocker" here.
what the fuck does that have to do with workstation shit? do you even know what you're talking about?
>$800 more for 30 more fps
AMD BTFO
Same here. Disabled in bios in the RGB Fusion menu. Can't stand all those goofy lights.
now compare ryzen 7 3700x incel cope
I'm starting to think based on how confused you seem that you don't know what a workstation is, which is bizarre because it's not a complicated concept.
I'm not an overclocker, I'm just buying a higher end CPU than I've ever done before and guides online seem to be saying that stock fans don't really cut it anymore. Water cooling seems to be pretty easy these days with all in one units so I figured I'd give it a shot. I also like the idea of my computer running a little quieter.
Thought about shutting down your PC for the night, bro?
are you kind of person that bought a xeon because you think it'll make your video games faster?
>le gaming hardware troll
Go back to your cave
Under sustained load top of the line aircoolers like D15 run cooler and quieter than AIO watercoolers costing double the price. They are also easier to install and more reliable. Unless you're going custom, do not bother.
>quieter
>aio liquid cooler
oh no no no
I use my computer to play audio that helps me sleep better so that's not really an option. Also I like to leave stuff open on my computer that would be lost if I restarted it.
They're fine, but loud. Got a 9400f and had to switch out the fan immediately. Every simple task would spike the fan and it was not subtle. Even something like opening a web browser. And it keeps switching from high to low and is super distracting. Even the cheapest $10~$15 was night and day.
Modern CPUs being caught offguard by my still relevent overclocked Sandy Cougar CPU
>intelcel still uses the same far cry benchmark
Just use a cheap audio player. If you say that you have a badass audio card on your PC, you don't care about audio quality when you are sleeping. If you say that you have some sort of algorithm that depends on your pulse, then use an Android phone and a python script.
the only time my computer is off is when the power goes out. should i not do this?
nah,it's fine I do that with my laptop and it still runs well 5 years later
You aren't going to break your computer but, depending on where you live, you are probably adding quite a bit to your utilities bill.
not really.
>The existential dread of actually having to upgrade your 2600k at some point
ugh
There's definitely more at stake when leaving a laptop on due to the structure/heat dissipation. An ordinary PC is much safer in that regard, especially considering it is trivial to replace something in a stationary PC.
then he has even less to worry about,I guess
OC'd Sandy Bridge today, OC'd Sandy Bridge tomorrow, OC'd Sandy Bridge forever
>i'm so glad that corporation X wins over corporation Y because I like monopolies also I suck cocks
>t. OP
Don't buy RBG parts then you dumb retard. That shit is more expensive anyway
Why wouldn't you compare to as many CPUs as possible?
>mfw I bought my 2600X from fucking Aliexpress for $70 and it still works
I wouldn't be so sure it's 2600x
I've been using the same AMD CPU since 2014 and only now thinking of replacing it.
So, a $200 AMD CPU beats a $300 Intel CPU? Sounds great to me.
Yep.
Sign me the fuck up.
so basically,
AMD ghz = 0.5 * Intel ghz
>compares lowest mid-range ryzen to the most expensive incel consumer cpu
have a (you)
The fact that it's compareable is the point. After 7/7 there'll be no reason to get intel.
That's actually a good comparison because it shows that an AMD CPU that's 40% of the price of Intel's flagship gives 80% of the performance.
This comparison is ok when it shows amd scoring higher though.
I'm waiting for the price drop for a 1070
>another security exploit gets found
>intel CPUs take another 20% performance hit
I just wanted to play FC4 and help Pagan
I want to upgrade my i5 4670k since it really bottlenecks me in open world games nowadays, it's annoying.
Maybe it's time to go amd.
you can also still use hyperthreading and not have to worry about patchs lowering performance
>in open world games
You mean ubistrash games, which are triple protected by drm which eats 90% of the cpu performance.
I don't know if you're just plain retarded or what, but unless you're purposely trying to fry your CPU, it'll last a lot longer than that.
i'm still ok with the i5 3470,but if I was building a new computer it would definitely be ryzen
Outside of ubishit I was also cpu limited in Deus EX Mankind Divided. Not really open world but my 4670k was doing ass and often made my GTX 1070 drop to 40fps.
My i5-2500K has been going strong since 2012 and I almost never turn this PC off.
As long as you aren't pushing the damn thing to 90° temperatures at all times, any CPU should theoretically last for fucking ever.
>Thinking anything is future proof
>Brand loyalty
>Caring that much if other people paid extra for a high end CPU eight months ago
When it's time to shop for new components just do you research and buy what's best for your budget. I went with a 9700K in November and I'm delighted with it. If I was shopping today I might look at the newest Ryzens. Stop bringing such console war-like faggotry to this.
>gaming PC
>when you can game on your laptop
>inb4 muh top grafixs™
Be a nice goy and buy a big case for an unmovable machine.
have fun buying a new mobo lmao
>Brand loyalty
>says the guy who still buy overpriced vulnerability ridden intel cpus
hope you are enjoying your mitigations, faggot
>$350
Yeah, 4 years ago, retard.
Ok Incel
>Things that don't happen to anyone with a brain
>Ever
but 9700k has no hyperthreading?
Wow, pic related is a beast. So that's notebook power..
>inb4 500kg, clunkier than pc, gaming "notebook" rant
they are still affected, 9700k has hardware mitigation
haven't owned an intel CPU since Pentium 4
what am i missing
vulnerabilities, their related mitigations and ass raping prices
IPC
>People actually waited to build their gaming PCs for this
Just wait for PS5. It will have better graphics, games and will only cost you a fraction of what you will need to cough up for PC.
sounds like a...super charged PC
Acceptable temps.
I already have a Blu-Ray Player.
This is PC footage, they didn't have PS5 devkits in mid 2018
how's my nigga i7 8700k doing?
>This is PC footage
Nah. It's a ps4 title. Imagine the graphical disparity between PS5 and PC will only get bigger since PC can't even catch up to ps4.
Because it was known/disclosed when it came out. Sometimes this shit happens. If I could see months into the future I'd be a billionaire so why bother stressing myself out over little shit like this?
>$200 locked 6-core cpu performs worse than a $500 unlocked 8-core cpu
wow, color me shocked
too obvious, faggot
>9900k
>needs a water cooler to not melt down because of heat
literally this
i bought a ryzen when it first came out and it was good then i bought a 9700k because i wanted better gaming performance. also i run 2 PC's at the same time
>trusting LATAM with competency
let me know when someone who knows what they're doing benchmarks.
Name (2) things you actually need (or will actually use) the most current new $$$$$ graphics card for to the point it is actually worth gloating over.
2 things
I don't care about CPUs, I just want 1080 TI's to be cheaper.
Super 2070 is a 1080 Ti
Is there any point in getting a 3800x, isn't that just an overclocked 3700x
Also 3900x sure looks mighty appealing but that's 550 yurocurrency and I don't know when the twelve cores will be relevant
>water cooling units
how lazy you are to get air cooling but feel too hassle with water cooling at the same time ?
Is the joke that it takes Intel's most expensive top of the line to beat a much cheaper, and more power efficient cpu while everything else of theirs loses? Lmao
has a much better base and boost clock, plus it's a higher quality bin so on average should OC better. Just depends if you want to spare $70 for better performance out of the box
Of you are fanboying about intel at this time and gen, you are literally retarded. AMD buttfucked Intel to death with up and coming CPUs. Still waiting for new Threadripper
That's the thing, I'm going to overclock either way so I'm wondering if the better binning will make that much of a difference
Guess I'll wait for OC benches
>all these americans quoting cheap ass prices for processors
fuck you guys they charge you out the ass for these in the UK
don't cheap out on processors
i got the i5 750 over the i7 920
still regret it 10 years later
I heard they're even worse in Germany and Auscunt land, so you're actually quite lucky.
>9900k $500
>Oh wait it makes the heat of the sun, requires $100+ Aftermarket Cooler
>Ryzen 3600 $200 comes with cooler and uses less power than an i3
*Also beats 9900k in single threaded perf at stock probably first time ever for amd
>bad as a laptop as it's heavy, huge and dogshit battery life
>bad as a desktop as it's underpowered and expensive
Gaming laptops, not even once.
>using stock coolers
>ever
Enjoy your noise and shorter lifespan.
This is Spain so its worse.
AMD stock coolers are actually good unlike Intel.
AMD's are actually bretty gud though, Intels have always been cheap trash.
that being said.
AIO 4 lyfe unless i ever get the money to try a nice open loop
>4 years ago
HAHAHAHAHHA
5 years of using stock cooler on 4770k, no issues whatsoever
I’ll stick with my i7-4790K
>unlocked CPU
>using the stock cooler
For what purpose.
seething, cope
>200$ medium level cpu is trading blows with a Core I7 that costs 100$ more
>Only on Yea Forums it is a bad thing
5 days until the zen 2 release and the Intel shills are going into overdrive.
The meltdown will be glorious.
sure but you can cool any amd cpu with a 20 dollar cooler, good luck with a 9900k unless you disable HT
>AMD beats Intel in single thread performance
>AMD beats Intel in multi-thread performance
>AMD beats Intel on every price point
>Intel has zero potential benefits over AMD for new builds this generation
>Maximum Intel shill overdrive engaged for the goyim
really fired my neurons
also the fact that both next gen consoles are going AMD so PC ports will probably run better on Ryzen.
as an owner of an AMD fx chip i can say that is a lie
You're running an FX APU?
nice.
I am always shocked at how fast people on this board claim to burn shit out or "need" upgrades. It's like they just gobble up whatever shit intel and AMD puts out next without a 2nd thought then come here to make up reasons to justify their purchase.
2 Years ? im still using my 1700x no problem if you wanna swap every 2 years thats on you buddy .
FX holy shit dude get on ryzen asap those XF chips are utter garbage
its sufficient enough, not living in a desert is a plus
I know but I need to buy mb/ram/cpu to upgrade and don't have 600 bucks (canadian)
>It will have games
That'd be a first.
