Any tips for Zangetsu second fight? I get trashed by the electric phase. I could probably just spam health pots but I wanna get good.

I just kept jumping behind him and slashing as much as I could. What is your loadout / level?

the bosses in this game have random patterns, wonky hitboxes and not telegraphed movies

your only option is to cheese them

So, is this game good or not?
Should I pirate it?

Level 27
Only spell I really use is Riiga Storma. Also throwing spears sometimes. I usually use Rhava Bural, but I feel like Flying Edge is a lot safer because I don't have to deal with his backstep attack which I have trouble dodging.

>mfw just discovered spears have a gotta go fast technique

>IGA
>stopping reashing the same idea over and over

if you are into autism collection, yes
if you are into gameplay and challenge, no

It's doing well, Curse of the Moon already did well, Iga wants to make more, they're gonna make more. Even with the bad press the Switch version is getting this is gonna get milked.

>combo moves

I’m pretty sure nobody uses them, right? I mean why would you when you have a familiar and magic.

The gameplay is good, I agree about no challenge though.

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 2.56M)

Flying kick is excellent for movement and sequence breaking. Combat-wise only the katana and sword moves are useful.

Who is the best familiar?

Imagine being a vampire but have to be reduced to a lonely librarian.

Book for buff. Dullaheads for no-nonsense ramming into anything on screen.

>mfw getting all my yellow shards to 9 and watching all numbers rise
I'm becoming a fucking MONSTER

Attached: 1543307317951.jpg (893x769, 432K)

I’d say bookbro but I like to use the fairy because she’s cute and thick.

gameplay is grinding and spamming the strongest shards you have

there's no reason to go melee besides Rhava Velar

I don't consider this gameplay since it's just robotic repetition

You make your own challenge in this game.

No shards/healing on Nightmare is incredibly difficult, but you need the discipline to not give in and use the game's many easy modes.

It's like how in Dark Souls you can just summon phantoms and spam magic if you want; the game can be made incredibly easy if you don't restrict yourself a bit.

Most of these metroidvania games are pretty much the same you grind until you start steamrolling everything. I guess some of the bosses put up a fight but if you grind enough you tame em easy.

intentionally gimping yourself only happens because of bad game design

The DS games had decent Hard Modes so what happened to IGA?

>there's no reason to go melee besides Rhava Velar

If you want to beat the game as fast and easily as possible, then no there isn't.

If you want to actually enjoy the game, then there are heaps of different weapons to experiment with that can all be fun to use. Just don't craft Rhava V or use the OP shards and build your own difficulty.

Encrypted Orchid locks him down pretty hard with it's slow effect it has. You could also use the directional shield shard from that knight with the big shield. It's overpowered as fuck and blocks everything.

Bloodstained was a great game i really hope konami ask iga to make his own castlevania game

>intentionally gimping yourself only happens because of bad game design

There are challenge runs for every Souls game out there. Are you saying that all of those games are badly designed?

Yes, Bloodstained has lots of ways to become overpowered. That's part of the fun for a lot of people. It's still up to you whether you use them or not.

>no lewd grab mods

Attached: 1561706849807.png (249x298, 174K)

konami means nothing to me now, they were dead to me once kojumbo skedaddled

Attached: kingpin pathetic.jpg (3840x1608, 409K)

fuck konami

Nah they're alright i'd like to see another castlevania game by iga preferably with richter as the main character

>There are challenge runs for every Souls game out there.

and?

Are you saying that all of those games are badly designed?

Souls games are built on being challenging so every game mechanic is balanced around this, gimping yourself in them is just looking for extra masochism.

>Yes, Bloodstained has lots of ways to become overpowered.

The game is built on autism collecting not skill.

> That's part of the fun for a lot of people

Yeah these games are made for no-skill/lazy balding boomers

>It's still up to you whether you use them or not.

Not using every gameplay mechanic to have some challenge is the definition of bad game design, if the mechanic makes the game too easy then it shouldn't even had been developed

The 'autism collecting' is only for people who want to become overpowered. There's no need to do it at all. If you felt an intense need to farm every shard and complete every quest then I hate to break it to you but you might be the autistic one buddy.

If you don't farm items, then the game remains challenging, especially on the higher difficulty levels. Even shards like Welcome Company and weapons like Rhava Bural get out paced by the bosses by mid game, and they are both low drop chances anyway.

If you just play the game and don't be autistic about it, then the game is moderately difficult and gets fairly tough in the late game.

Hopefully not. I really hope this game does well so we get more content.

wats the celeste room for

No idea. Nothing I assume? Maybe a kickstarter reward tier?

lol, there's no difficulty in any mode after the 1st Zangetsu

what a tool

to sit down in and look at the picture

I like the game but the production values are fucking awful. It's like a janky Castlevania indie fangame from 2008 that you'd find on the Xbox 360 indie store.

Arise! My Self and my Shadow!

Attached: Voice Changer.jpg (1920x1080, 478K)

Even if that satement was correct (it's not), bosses are not the sole source of difficulty in the game.

the only thing wrong with it is the visuals the gameplay is 100% solid

I agree on the gameplay but those animations are horrendous. Every cutscene so far I've had an overwhelming urge to skip because it's so bad.

not like the story matters at all

if story doesn't matter then don't interrupt my gameplay, faggot

I really want to use them but controls are unresponsive and they only work like 50% of the time.

>Got 2 Rhava Burals on consecutive kills of the same Barber
I mean, I'm glad I have it, but everything is way too easy now

i agree unless the cutscenes have cool fight scenes in them i don't want story in my games

oh shit, you mustn't have heard but the game was datamined and it was discovered that there's a hidden mechanic allowing you to skip cutscenes. You push the 'Skip' button during a cutscene.

Can I do anything to the portrait?

True. Part of why I wish it was 2d. Oh well.

For its budget the production value and amount of content is actually really high.
Hard to see how you could do much more with slightly above 2 million to pay an actual studio, multiple VAs in two languages, create hundreds of assets, do a soundtrack with real instruments, do multiple ports, etc.

Well it also makes the Bloodless fight easier. If you poison yourself before she absorbs your blood, she'll take massive damage instead of healing.

>over designed
>each incarnation of Beck has different proportions
>he has a viser that he never, ever, ever uses
>blue theme like mega man making him even more of a chinese mobile rip off

Beck's design is a total mess.

The spear one where you go fast is great for getting the running fast soul.

>both vampires can be tricked with poison
Neat shit, I havent eat the Dark Matter because I fear the thing got some dick stat reduce move

worth a pirate. buy if you feel like he deserves it.

the running fast soul is trivial if you use the ray beam

They're not alright, Contra looks bad, Metal Gear Survive was awful, their hyped up E3 reveal was a fucking TurboGrafx Mini, and they've fired pretty much everyone of note at this point. They actively DO NOT WANT to be involved in the video game industry at this point and only do so now to cash in.

you can see them thinking "so long suckers. We'll make more money from gambling than we ever did on these costly games". Then MGSV sells above their expectations, so they scramble to make some asset flip game and now trying to make a few games to cash in.

It's odd that the second to last area in the game is a shrunk down version of the garden. I wonder if they planned to do that for the whole castle at one point, making it their version of the inverted castle. If so, I'm glad it got pared down, that area was pretty tedious to navigate.

the visuals aren't that bad but the animations are foul

Iga doesn't really need Konami as long as he's given a decent working environment. With his own little universe he doesn't have to be beholden to set in stone events or deciding what's canon or not and trying to wedge new games into a timeline that's supposed to have the resident bad guy only resurrecting once a century.
Seeing the actual Demon Castle War of 1999 would have been nice though.

Imagine being a lonely librarian and then some little girl bullies you into becoming her slave.

I used silver chariot he saved my ass a couple times deflecting shit that would have killed me

Is Welcome Company the most OP shard?

I like the crafting system in the game, but by the time you get all that shit, there aren't any hard enemies to use them on.

I just wish there was a high level arena

Iga makes video games. Inafune is a hackfraud.

I'm sure he'll change his mind once he realizes she killed his innocent niece when she was taking a bath.

sasuga

Attached: demiurge.jpg (210x240, 18K)

living the dream

It's the only useful normal shard, but not even close to the most OP one. Like half the directional shards are OP as fuck.

>See that I can craft a shard that requires a plume or something
>See that the flying pig has an unknown item below the 1% cutlet drop
>Genocide all plume porks I can find while wearing luck equipment
>43 pork pork ingredients, some shards and cutlets later, there's nothing
I'm killing the wrong enemy, am I not?

Attached: 1537255733676.gif (332x263, 2M)

I like the basic design, but the fact that every fucking bit of artwork for him and the in-game destroys the proportions and gives him weird cone arms or rubber hose legs really ruins it.

Also I could have sworn the visor came down during the bosses absorption animation but I may be remembering wrong.

Attached: Beck.jpg (1280x720, 94K)

They are both westaboos, but Inafune took the söypill while Iga swallowed the chadpill.

IGA had a reputation at konami for being able to push out a solid product on a low budget. It's not surprising a man with that reputation would handle his funds better than Inafune who had been very cavalier with spending for years. Inafune would fund prototypes he was personally interested in under the assumption that once enough money had been spent on a project, other authorities at the company would just let him finish it rather than kill the project. That does not sound fiscally responsible to me.

There's another variation near the end of the game.

That was what happened with Mega Man 2 wasn't it? The team just started work on it without Capcom's actual approval and showed to them when it was near completion and basically forced their hand in approving it.

He actually gave a shit

And he's the better game architect

>randomly a japanese section
>ending is just big area with big reskinned enemies followed by [ice textured caves] instead of [brown textured caves] or [lava textured caves]

these are huge issues, also the game is just generally ugly as fuck and yes i turned down the brightness

>that area was pretty tedious to navigate.
thats probably why you can get the accelerator shard in the area

No, Capcom had already approved a sequel after Kitamura went to the higher ups wanting a second chance, but it was given a lower budget and the team were made to work on it during their free time from other, more important projects. It also recycled some unused content from the first game to fill in the gaps.

Yes. Check the demon list, shows you what drops, same with the item list: shows you what demons drop said item

Yea that felt out of place, but it's not a deal breaker

I thought the game looked inconsistent. There were some decent looking areas, but others weren't good

Overall though, I'd say it's a pretty solid game that could've used more refining

Not sure on Mega Man 2 and I don't think Inafune would have been the instigator at that point. That's what happened with Dead Rising though. The board turned it down but Inafune didn't tell the team working on it. A few months later they now had a much more advanced prototype and had spent enough money to make it harder to just throw away.

Fuck you, I like parrying with the katanas

The series producer at the time said no to Mega Man 2, so Kitamura literally went ovver his head and appealed to one of the Capcom VP's at the time to get approval for the project.

I think they had to work on some baseball game in addition to MM2 at the time.

Because of the friction between the two, this resulted in Kitamura leaving Capcom.

>these are huge issues
Not really. They're issues, sure, though I liked the Japanese and Desert areas, but they're not that important. It's just visuals, and if they want to make this a Castlevania style series then the next game will have tons of asset work already done which will free up more budget for better looking environments and more enemy variety. That's what they did with Castlevania after all, Asset Reuse: the series.

>Mortes and Dullaheads for years

Oh well, we put up with it before.

Attached: 1557812096040.jpg (986x1502, 1.58M)

GIT FUCKING GUD SCRUB

Almost done platinuming the game myself.

>85% item completion
>100% map completion
>100% shard completion
>9.8% technique completion

Also no fairies in the Den of Behemoths makes my penis very sad.

Attached: 1553931201901.png (600x700, 206K)

I would hope that they would replace mortes since they're kind of a bland design but unfortunately we're never gonna get skeletons because it would be 2spooky4chinamen

Den of Behemoths would have been cooler if it had giant versions of some of the more advanced enemies instead of just basic bitch bats and toads.

I'm almost at endgame and have 0 technique progression.

>Mortes and Giant Mortes don't drop shards
>Bomber Mortes do drop shards
why

Could someone help me out here? Currently sitting on 99.66% Item Completion but I'm stuck on seemingly two final accessories that I either haven't thought to craft or simply haven't found. (1/2)

I think the second one is the curse ring that drops from those banshee looking enemies.

From a lore standpoint it's because basic Morte, and Giant Morte by extention, are basic, lesser demons with no magic or crystal growth of their own. The other variants are Morte that have all absorbed other creatures and used them to develop abilities. Bone Morte are literally just throwing the bits and pieces of the humans they consumed at you.

The ship theme is a banger, imo

Do you mean the Cursed Ring from the screaming Cyhyraeth screaming curse witches that drop Witch's Tears? Because I have a few of those already if so, actually.

Yes because is a mix of Ruined Castle Corridor, Dracula's Castle and Iron Blue Intention

Where's the porn tho

The bullet system is retarded.
Why does it needs two fucking bullet slots despite the fact how samey all of them are?
There was no reason not to make all bullets directional and give something more interesting for other slots. Not to mention that guardian type souls are laughable here compared to DoS with barely any interesting stuff going on for them.
The only good thing about whole system is that they brought summons back i guess.

Right here

img2.gelbooru.com//images/f5/66/f566303da266fcfb6879a52a1eb0ed47.jpeg

Paintings are useful for keeping trash mobs away, but there's better options for killing enemies without having to hug up to them. Better shards kill enemies before they can get close to you.

lewd

The second half of the game is fucking awful. Everything that needs to unlock the true ending is genuinely poorly designed. It feels that they've only designed the game up to Gebel. Everything, from the boss design to level and enemy design just pummels down in quality extremely hard.

Bloodstained and Hollow Knight look interesting, how do I know if these kinds of games are for me?

>no Final Guard
>no Ruler Sword
>no Alura Une
>no joke enemies like Skeleton Curry, Farmer, Kicker, Bartender, Zacchino, Chronomage, Dodo and Mothman aside Niggly Wiggly in the train
>TINY ASS SELECTION OF ARMOR ENEMY TYPES
>no rocket, sword, gunner, weapon master, hammer, double hammer
>no Chupacabras
>no Creature/Franken

What piss me off the most is CoM got some enemies they didnt add into Ritual and they looked cool.

anyone

When the demo came out I pointed out that it sounds very similar to Blue Iron Intention. Now the full game is out and soundtrack might as well be called SoTN:Remixes.

How is this allowed?

Attached: 1550084599692.jpg (1920x1080, 398K)

The only thing I disliked was the water section.

First one is thick glasses sold in the shop.
Second is black belt, chest is somewhere in garden of silence I think.

Compare your map with this

By that point you should have several items and shards to crank up item drop rate. And once you cook something with the meat, you can always buy it from the shop and uncook it.

The rare drop on the beef? I mean, it's used in some of the most potent crafting recipes in the games in terms of First Time Bonus buffs, so it's fair if you ask me. You only need like four of them or so to craft the dishes that use it, which is easy as fuck to do if you have at least 60 Luck and one or two Plunder Rings, and then you just make the items and rebuy them from the shop without the need to farm more beef if you need the food item again for yourself or Susie.

>dark skin miriam
based

Attached: 1556405093257.png (350x466, 227K)

I did and it still took forever to get the beef

Where is gold shard? The one used for farming? I am slowly going though shards and currently in 40s but it would be nice to have while I farm the rest.

Craft it

You need to get Augment LCK from the high level mimics first, then have Johannes craft it.

no they aren't, only archaic nostalgia shit like this are

youtu.be/7NFwhd0zsHU

you might be retarded

And now I've got 100% Item Completion. Thanks a bunch, user. Only thing I have left before I do NG+ is technique completion now.

seeth

Farm the Deathtraps right near hallways in either the Lava area or that one side room in the Oriental Lab. After you get Augment Luck from them you can craft Augment Gold with it at Johannes in exchange for a bunch of gold (the crafting item, not the currency.) To help with that you can go the ghetto route and farm Ayamur in the Waterway from water horses and alkahest that for 1 gold a piece (which is very slow), or you can just craft 1 gold yourself then buy it from Dominique over and over for like 11k gold (currency) a piece. I think that requires Fell Leaves or something to make though, due to the Dark Matter component, and that's pretty late game in terms of crafting mats, so yeah.

Alternatively, farm one Ayamur, alkahest it, then recombine the alkahested materials into one crafted Gold, unlocking that item in the vendor shop menu. If you have Alchemical Bounty at a good rank then you can disassemble one Gold over and over, reassembling it continuously while praying for procs of multiples getting made through the shard's duplication chance.

>Alternatively, farm one Ayamur, alkahest it, then recombine the alkahested materials into one crafted Gold, unlocking that item in the vendor shop menu.
this is more efficient with the Gold Breastplate once you have two gold to make it

Which difficulty for a first playthrough? Hard? Nightmare?

What you can do is farm one Ayamur, dismantle that into gold, dismantle the gold into mercury and dark matter, and then dismantle the dark matter. Then you can put them all back together and all of the items will appear in the shop.

I hope someone makes a good randomizer out of this.

Hard

>Get Kalasiris
>It's not actually see-through
Disappointed.

What's the max grade for shards before it stops making a difference?

So, seeing that most here enjoy both games, anyone has a Night of Revenge save with all the animations unlocked? I've remember hearing something about nuns and consensual sex with heart pupils, bit I'm only level 35

Isn't a procedural generated castle mode one of the kickstarter bonuses that will be coming in the future?

metal gear survive was a better game than V

Grade stops at 9. If you get another shard after that it's discarded.

Sadly true in all likelihood, but still, we can try to get at least kind of close like they did with the Revenant. Even if they went with something along these lines for a generic enemy it'd have way more personality than Morte blob men.

Rhava Velar doesn't seem that good to me on Nightmare. There's a very long portion of the game, arguably the hardest portion, where you don't have the stats to get decent damage out of it.

Curse of the moon is too kino. Enjoyed it more then Miriam's game. Why the fuck were there no remixes of these?

Do you have brain damage or just down syndrome?

>might

Is the Classic Mode already in the game? have mixed feelings for Metroidvanias but I love Classicvanias

What, no way. That's fucking genius. Although I guess it doesn't help you if you're going for medals.

Not in yet. You could always play Curse of the moon, its just straight up classicvania spinoff.

It's fucking insane how fucking broken some of these shards they give you even on Nightmare
>Welcome Company
>Teps Ocus
>Lethargy to slow the fuck out of almost everything
>upgraded summon chair to restore all your MP
>Stacking up on passive shards
Is this IGA's most broken game yet?

I already did
on release date

why restore your MP why you can just sue gebel's glasses

that is endgame stuff and at that point i'm done with the game.

That's just how he seems to enjoy making games. Half the fun is being rewarded for experimenting with all the tools at your disposal for where you are in the game and finding out which ones are broken as fuck, like how Heretical Grinder and not-Vorpal Blade are amazing when you first get them, but by mid-game they're kind of forgotten about because you have so much overpowered shit like auto-aim Teps Oceus and screen-clear Riga Stormaera and you can murder shit with melee from across the entire goddamn screen with Flying Edge the second you get to the Towers.

when i was at the end game i didn't max out a single shard dunno why you'd waste so much time maxing your shit until after endgame

>Wii U port
kek

>>upgraded summon chair to restore all your MP
wait what I thought that was just a joke skill used for taking screenshots of Miriam

I wish I could be one of those chairs

I didn't realize Lethargy worked on stuff, every enemy I tried using it on resists it.

I never used it once because I assume it either doesn't work on bosses or it would make them into unfun cake-walks, and standard enemies die way too quickly and easily to justify debuffing them instead of just hitting them 2-4 times within the span of a second or three.

Attached: BloodstainedRotN-Win64-Shipping_2019_07_02_07_32_26_898.webm (800x450, 2.97M)

This is why Curse, Poison, and Slow all kind of suck, but Petrify is cool because sometimes it means only needing to swing at an enemy once instead of four or so times. Sculptor's Chisel early game is stupid good.

Attached: sculptors-chisel-bloodstained-wiki-guide.png (128x128, 4K)

I don't have any sympathy for the bosses. It never gets easy if you're going for the medals because some of their attacks are an absolute bitch to avoid.

>2-4 times within the span of a second or three.
Learn to evade cancel and make that 8-24 hits per second.

I thought it was just dumb meme shit too, but then I saw a webm of someone's MP skyrocketing and I immediately farmed that shit.
I like to sit on it while using healing for a slow but completely free refresher.

Is it based on grade or rank?

I'm really not sure how the MP recovery works exactly. Sometimes you sit down and you recover for just a couple seconds, other times it fills up most of the bar. Whenever it stops you can just stand and sit back down to restart it.

I think it's grade since rank just says "gives you more chair types".

>poison sucks
>several of the bosses can be poisoned

Attached: succ it.webm (1662x658, 2.35M)

Poison's good if you're making heavy use of Blood Steal, yeah, that's fair. If not then it's mediocre at best and you're better off just going with flat damage.

Poison ticks for 204 on Master Carpenter. That's in addition to all of the other damage you'll be doing, that's crazy.

>all that chip damage and pomp and flourish
>or do an 800+ damage swing with a greatsword and instakill it

Attached: 1524538844486.webm (831x465, 1.33M)

Anyone else hoping for a mod for Zangetsu that turns him into Snake and his sword into a huge fucking combat knife?

Some of my Shortcut slots are just empty bullshit save for changing out a Passive shard to things like Alchemic Bounty or Money is Power (depending on the NPC I'm interacting with). I think I might make one into a Chair quickslot now, to swap off of things like Riga Stormaera easily without missing a beat. I like the idea of actually using that spell for a practical reason, it sound fun for repeat playthroughs before you get the MP per second upgrade drinks.

Pretty sure that particular animation was kinda old.

I crafted a Stinger just before the double jump boss and was surprised to see it actually proc. Not that it did a lot between all the arrows and dullaheads getting thrown at it.

Attached: Andrea ND.webm (540x304, 2.77M)

Master Carpenter is so fucking quick and easy that I'm genuinely baffled you're even using him as a defense. It takes seconds to kill him at most, regardless of weapon as long as you're using endgame-tier shit.

I finished it other than IGA and OD yesterday.

I don't think I'll bother with them. Enjoyed the exploration a lot more than the bosses. Only one or two decent ones in the whole game.

Not on Nightmare since he's harder to gun to death. Not to mention I'm always fighting him as soon as I get to the Oriental Sorcery Lab so none of the endgame stuff is available because there's no orichalcum or imbrued fang at that point.

This boss was weirdly easy if you ask me. I beat it with no issues at all within like twenty seconds by just following it around with a spear. Seemed anticlimactic considering I had been looking forward to finding the flying library boss Zangetsu's letter arrow mentioned early on.

>Not on Nightmare since he's harder to gun to death.
I don't like guns in this game so this is going over my head to some extent but that's fine. I assume you're just saying he hates range and that's where spells and spears and Flying Edge come into play.
>Not to mention I'm always fighting him as soon as I get to the Oriental Sorcery Lab so none of the endgame stuff is available
You're able to go to the fire are first, aren't you? Or am I misremembering that? If not, go there, get Dimension Shift, go to the Towers, get the Valkyrie Sword, bam, endgame weapon without needing to craft jack shit.

Its weird because it was the hardest boss to me in Curse of the moon. In Ritual its pathetic.

Sure you can. Carpenter Key only requires invert. Also Dimension Shift is way the fuck after OSL. By the time you've gotten Dimension Shift, you've basically beaten the game.

>fire are
Fire area, I meant. My bad
Either way, just remembered that the fire area gives Invert, not Dimension Shift. That comes from Gremory. My bad. So, yeah, disregard.

Try doing it without taking damage.

>Beat Normal and Hard
>Want to play Nightmare and get all the medals but dunno if I want to grind another saveslot and level 1 while I'm at it
Is there any big difference on Nightmare compared to hard other then permanently being Level 1?

It has a lot more moves in Curse, too, like that huge light explosion it does like the demon thinks he's a fucking Belmont.

Attached: Rondo_of_Blood_-_Grand_Cross_-_02.png (1200x872, 22K)

Riga dohin is much better against him since it will hit him like 4 times at least before he moves again

No, it's just being permanently level 1. It does change your tactics a bit, particularly in the early game, where you just don't have the damage to brute force through some rooms.

You know, Beck looks rather familiar...

Attached: 01-Kazu.png (320x240, 18K)

god this is terrible, might have to uninstall

Thanks, I guess I'll just replay it later then. I got too burned out by this game.

Why would I bother now that Teps Oceus and that one light-chaser spell seem like the obvious answers to fighting this thing? When I was fighting that boss blind with a spear I didn't know those tools existed, but now I do.

>someone saved that garbage collage I made after watching a video that showed off Curse of the Moon and all I saw was that fucking Scissorman from Clock Tower
Somehow I'm flattered

I'm not certain, but I feel like your ATK value is also permanently halved. So far my melee damage has been atrocious.

Given how wide its mouth is, I wonder if it's also a reference to pic related Japanese urban legend, sort of like how the train's curse Morte is also based on one.

Oh, alright, that sounds perfectly fine. I'll miss Double Jump but it should take less than an hour to get it back if I don't die. Will High Jump be stricken from me as well, since it's an extension of Double Jump (crafted through it if I remember correctly), or will it be retained as a separate skill in the system's eyes? If I have High Jump AKA Fucking lol infinite jump then I don't care about Double Jump to begin with.

Anyhow, so it's only story-related weapons, progression-blocker skills (maybe even including Aqua Jet and Deep Sinker for all I know), and key items things like Silver Bromide and the Train Pass and all that?

Reminder that Koshimizu is already 33 years old expired christmas cake!

Yeah, High Jump, Aqua Jet, Deep Sinker, Silver Bromide and the Train Pass are all gone.
You'll keep Gebel's glasses though so you can do the flying kick trick for infinite jumps

Explain. Also does it even work on the current version of the game

What's the track name that plays in 8 bit nightmare?

As fuck, didn't remove the post number.

You need to use the flying kick move in the air, press the backstep button, use your directional shard and jump.
It can be chained multiple times as long as you have MP.

how long will it take to watch the end game credits?

Like 30 seconds, you can speed it up.

I'll take that cake with pleasure. And after I eat it I'll even say OISHIII~

I literally do not think my fingers can do this without tool assists. Thanks, neuropathic disorder in my hands.

Will I keep my crafting mats? I'd like to know if it'd be smart to farm a tiny bit of everything before hitting NG+.

You don't need to do it that fast, as long as you're still in the air after doing a flying kick, the trick will still work.

How does New Game+ work in this game? Do you keep everything?

Attached: 1392680353065.jpg (261x287, 44K)

There's a sequence of bosses in the middle of the game that they're all effortless. I think the only one that started giving me a little trouble again was Alfred, because I decided to not equip the poison res shard.

Igarashi had the advantage of actually making games before.

You lose items, weapons and shards which could be used to skip intented content (Boss door keys, double jump, high jump, books etc) but everything else you keep, including stats and crafted equipment.

All the main bosses in the game seem really easy in normal mode at least, only one I had to try twice was Zangetsu rerun.
Out of side bosses Millionaire was kicking my ass for a while but then he offed himself so eh

Where are the Vepar lewds?

Is there a version of the Minotaur soul from Dawn of Sorrow? The one that swings a huge fuckoff axe that covers almost the whole screen and does ridiculous damage? That was my favorite in the DS Vanias.

I thought Doppleganger was one of the hardest bosses in the game, at least for trying to get the medal.

You are getting the medals, right?

>You are getting the medals, right?

getting the what now

The closest thing is probably the hellhound summon which just explodes the whole screen.

Zangetsu has an annoying shoryuken thing.

Apparently there are medals for each boss if you kill them without taking a hit. I also only found out about it from this thread.

>OG

There was a ton of good Kickstarter games released prior to these games getting announced.

There’s a giant axe swing shard but it’s not a summon. There’s also Vepa’s tentacles.

Parry is fucking great, and so is the 3 hit combo for katana. Even helmsplitter can be good in the right situation.
Basically you're fucking stupid.

Is this game beter than SotN?

Attached: 1560929238106.jpg (234x207, 25K)

No.

I've been replaying SotN because of it getting put free on Xbox.
No, it's not better than SotN.

Depends on what you want out of it.
I'd say it's at least as good as SotN if not better, but it's certainly uglier and that matters because SotN is beautiful. I'm gay for the Soul system though, so that's a big reason I think Aria /Dawn and RotN are better than SotN.

Name three that are not Shovel Knight.

No, but it's in the same ballpark. The thing it most closely resembles is the various GBA/DS Castlevanias, it feels like an amalgam of them all with the serial numbers filed off.

It only makes her stronger.

No. I'd say it's also worse than Aria. Around the level of DoS, really.

Did they say there would be a roguelike randomized dungeon DLC for this in the future? Because that sounds it could be super fun if done right.

Valdis Story, environmental station alpha, Darkwood, Hollow Knight, Dusk, Amid Evil, Sir you are being hunted, Grip, Redout, Skullgirls.

That’s just off the top of my head, only a casual hates kickstarted games.

Aria is underrated. Shits god damn amazing.

The first 65% of this game was fantastic the remainder was upside down castle sotn-tier autism.
I just want another circle of the moon game, with maybe a few more bells whistles secrets and exploration.

I want chadvania not soivania

>I just want another circle of the moon game
>double tapping to sprint
No thank you.

What's a way to obtain multiple onions sauces fast? Dismantling food doesn't guarantee that the shop will sell it.

Yes, it's probably being worked on right now.

Right now, all they're working on is getting the Switch version to run right.

Circle of the Moon is near universally agreed to be the worst of the 2D Metroidvanias.

Weeb land(Oriental Sorcery Lab) blue chest has it.Teleport in and teleport out to farm it.

If anything, it was the only Metroidvania that actually used the original Gothic horror aesthetic and not shitty anime tropes.

How the fuck does Redbeast's Edge work? The rapier seems to change sizes randomly

What I want is to start with nothing and get a random dungeon with random crafting components and drops, so that I actually have a reason to USE the whole equipment list and think what I have access to instead of just making a beeline for Rhava Bural/Velar since it's obviously better than 99% of the list. I think that sort of thing is exactly what this game needs the most. It would probably fix the bosses too because you'd be forced to use suboptimal equipment.

Why is CotM considered bad? I remember liking it but that was a long time ago by now.

Not sure of the date, but for me stuff like Pillars of Eternity 1, Pathfinder Kingmaker, Divinity Original Sin, Wasteland 2, FTL, Darkest Dungeon, Battle Chef Brigade and more.

The only dud I backed was Pillars of Eternity 2 and even then the gameplay part of the game itself is great, it's just plagued by fucking terrible writing by Californians that turned a magical land of shark people and elves into California with magic.

SHUT UP SHUT UP IT’S A BAD GAME OK SO JUST SHUT UP SWEETIE MIRIAM IS OBJECTIFIED AND THERE ARE TOO MANY BOOBS I HATE IT

>GRRRRR IM MAD THAT MY DAD LIKES YOU THE BEST, I SHOULD BE THE TOP TIER WARRIOR NOT YOU!

Never buy multiplat games on Nintendo products

About the only thing that remotely feels anime-esque, and even then having a jealous rival is not a strictly-anime thing.

But really, Nathan isn't a backdashing DBZ fighter who wipes out everything in a blink, then just chugs easily-purchased potions to heal a few scratches. The castle isn't a technicolor eyesore, and the character designs look reasonably horror-themed.

luckily there isn't an achievement for techniques because they knew nobody gave a shit about them.

>tfw grinded every shard to 9 including resist curse and 8 bit flame

Not at all, no.

It has some flaws but it’s not a terrible game. Double tapping to run sucks, and the card system isn’t ideal, but the castle design is top notch.

Yeah instead he uses cards to summon monsters to help him out, nothing anime about that.

You know the rest

The techniques in this game are so fun, even if they aren't necessary. I also love that one of the late game quests gives you a weapon that basically unlocks the Alucard Sword move for straight swords.

Still, Katanas have my heart. The three hit combo, Eclipse strike, Nothing Personnel dash, slam attack, it's all too fun to chain together.

That didn't seem like a ton of gold to me. Are you using Augment Gold as well?

And is there a way to make 777 happen?

>Still on top sellers
What the fuck? This must be selling pretty well then right?

Yes, Aradia lewds.

Hopefully the sequel has some better boss fights. Outside of a handful of bosses like Gremory and Dom I think that COTM had the more exciting encounters.

Electricity has the effect of slowing enemies. Use the single shot teps shard, and wail on him from behind

Agreed. I love Bloodstained and most of the experience is top tier but the bosses largely aren't great.

The main one that kills me is the twin dragons since their CotM version was so great and they don't even use the "combining into one creature" gimmick they're clearly designed around, with teeth on their top and bottom.

The gameplay is also good, but yeah not that much challenge

That's really very little money, double augment gold and running through a short hallway a few times can make that amount in a few seconds.

I'm hoping Zangetsu's mode actually tells the story from his perspective, him meeting up with Dominique and Alfred behind the scenes and all. I don't expect anything too extreme like new bosses.

I could see Dominique, if she's the third character, kind of being the Julius Mode in that it presents am alternate ending where you fight the protagonist in the final battle.

Silver knight. Giving him laser spears makes it a no brainier

Book or Dullahammer objectively speaking.

Subjectively, Book, Sword and Fairy are all on par for me and I switch them out semi regularly. I like Familiars with personality and the Knight, Buer and Dulla don't have any.

By the way, is there a good way to quickly level Familiars?

just running around the castle with accelerator give you hundreds of thousands and is fun as hell.

How do you fight IGA in the game?

Is Teps Oceus the lightning attack?

pay $10 USD

Two things make a Tis Rozaïn standout first is the fact that it activates almost instantly and you only need on frame of collusion to do full damage which is like 3mp a tick making it and void ray by far the most mp efficient shard but also incredibly useful for clearing a screen without having to stop and cast a spell. The second is it's holy damage, which very few enemies have any holy resist, while most enemies have holy vulnerability.

Its fun for a beam spamming addict like myself.

If you have the DLC, he's in the same room as Gebel after your second fight with him.

And he's a goddamn bitch too. Not sure what the best way to handle him is honestly.

Did backers get codes emailed to them?

It's the only directional holy shard I believe.

Yes, it's one time use and is more suited when you have multiple enemies on a screen.

Nice blinds.

The shield is too fucking good.

This is why guns suck, you can kill shit fast but no notable skills to make it stylish

What level should I be for Dominque? Does it really matter?

Teps hits large targets multiple times though. If you're focusing on single target damage on a small target, sure, Tiz may perform better but then wouldn't something like Heretical Grinder be a better choice?

If it's a large enemy though, one strike of Teps will often hit them three or four times, sometimes more if you're lucky.

Grinding for Dragon Eggs is hell.

>Heretical Grinder be a better choice?
Doesn't have the reach or the instant activation.

ZANGETSU WHEN?!?!

Also important is that Teps hits through fucking walls for those obnoxious enemies that just hover between them.

It's so long.

Attached: laserdick.jpg (1920x1080, 432K)

Yes but if you're on console, the DLC isn't out yet so I don't think they've put out codes.

Grind for Gold (the money,) instead. Craft 1 Gold (the item) so you can buy Gold in the shop, then fully Rank/Level Alchemic Bounty and double stack it.

Prepare an item that uses a Dragon Egg (I think Crepe Dough will appear in the store and uses it, could be wrong) and either just buy it and use Alkahest to break it down and/or duplicate the item by breaking down one and savescummimg when crafting it to create 5. Repeat as needed.

What a silly thing for that shard to 'improve'. What possible benefit is there except how fun it is to bounce around at the speed of light?

I imagine this is how an Alzheimer person would shoot with a gun

Its for those who dont realize that you can get High Jump and want to reach places.

Wow, I feel dumb for not thinking of crafting gold just to add it to the shop. I remember seeing the recipe early on and thinking I would never make that

You can't oooooooo unless someone eeeeeeeeeeeees first.

Attached: 1540343717530.jpg (714x1000, 356K)

Huh, I guess. As soon as I saw High Jump in the Crafting menu I wanted nothing but to find then enemy that dropped it and to murder it repeatedly until I got what I wanted.

The High Jump I'm this game is so good too. Feels extremely satisfying.

Are there any equipments that increase the amount of exp you get?

What's the point of seeds and farming?

After I got Alchemic Bounty I stopped farming for a lot of stuff and just craft. So with like Ombrued Fangs, I can just get one, craft Rheva Velar x5, break down the duplicates and use one of the duplicates to make another 5. If I fuck up or am feeling lazy, I can also just buy one in the shop.

But yeah, to get to that point you need a lot of Gold so you want to craft one then buy the rest since anything but double stacked maxed Bounty has shit odds for crafting multiple.

food bonus and some late game accessories

There is atleast one, though I dont remember what it was, maybe an accessory.

Getting ingredients to cook, you have a limit for how many potions you can carry but there is no limit for food, they're pretty good for healing.

Oh, and you can proc Alchemic Bounty when crafting Shards as well. Makes maxing out any crafted shards' Grade super quick.

There's a book you can borrow, if not now then later in the game.

All you have to get is one then you can abuse money mechanics to buy whatever dish you made from the shop and dismantle it.

yes, it's better then SotN. It depends on what you want from it though, so if you say gameplay then Bloodstained is better, some environments and music are better in SotN but that's largely it tbqh

>Go around with a weak ass piddly knife
>Still kill most enemies before they can even start an attack animation

I love IGA's games but he could really stand to make some basic enemies more aggressive.

FUCK ME
4 bosses left

Attached: Zangetsu.jpg (1920x1080, 1.15M)

The "reverse crafting" with Alkahest is so fucking weird to wrap my head around.

>no medal
load and do it again

>enemy ahead and standing still
>fire homing lasers
>hit nothing
That shard is trying way too hard to look cool.

u blind

If you didn't get the medal in the screenshot we'll never know if you got it, might have healed after taking a hit.

Load and do it again, this time get the medal in the screenshot.

based Knightbro is best. He's always blocking things for me to show he cares.

You'd be waiting what, another 5 years?

The big rose is right there, that only pops up if you get the medal

If it takes 5 years to make, so be it. Had Bloodstained been rushed out without IGA taking time to make sure stuff got polished, it would have suffered. Even now the game is fairly janky at times.

I don't buy it, load and do it again.

...

Probably not considering they can now go full asset recycling and without needing to switch devs two times.

I'm expecting them both to be essentially post-game storylines. Zangetsu is about how he escapes Gremory's trap and Dominique is about how she essentially conquers Hell and becomes Not!Dracula after Miriam banishes her, both naturally being set-ups for the inevitable sequel.

Also, between this and the image, there's no denying it's going to be Dom.

This, cranking new Stains out yearly is quite doable if they reuse assets as much as they used with the GBA vanias.

With how broken it gets with Alchemic Bounty, I understand why they patched it to make it a largely endgame feature.

NOOOOOOOOO, THIS IS SO DISRESPECTFUL TO THE $500 I PAID! STOP IT!

How will OD fags recover?

Are the backer pics in an easy location in the game files somewhere? I kind of want to just replace all of them with Miriam lewds.

>Farming Imbrued Fang

>Zangetsu: Take this sword, Gremory knows it's dangerous. Because of that, if she senses my presence, she will evade me, but you can get a jump on her when you fight the boss.
(One Anna of the Green Gebels novel later)
>Zangetsu: So I have had my suspicions about Dom, since she told me to pursue the old man. Instead, she could have told us to work together and it would have been a wiser choice. That tipped me off.

The demon with a guitar is the best youtube.com/watch?v=Pyr9i_J7N0k

8bit fireball bro

>She doesn't drop a guitar g.sword

Attached: NargacugaRage.jpg (720x960, 31K)

Read above my dude . Get one Imbrued Fang, craft Rheva Velar or something that requires it using Alchemic Bounty, bam, infinite fangs.

Does less damage than my sword and is super expensive to upgrade?

...shit, that's a real missed opportunity.

rank 9 fires 5 projectiles at a time.

Why are sword fags always so dumb?

ugly game. shit design. this is probably the most dumb thing i have seen from it.

>Curse of Darkness had a guitar weapon
>Bloodstained doesn't.

FUCK

How is farming imbrued fang even hard? Literally sit at the door and hit him while he does nothing.

Is that from the slot machine? Just equip a sword and Hadoken it until you get 777's.

damn, I haven't had someone try to low-tier bait me in a long while. take this reply, hope it helps keep your gay away user

Attached: 1555956974553.webm (640x640, 2.81M)

Okay, even then it would do less damage than hellhound at rank 7 or so

Jesus christ thanks user, fuck all these other fags

you're pretty dumb

Just keep going in and out of that room and around the mid section is where they usually spawn. They should show up eventually. Had the same problem myself.

What are your favorite non Rhava Velar weapons, Yea Forums? I want to take advantage of all these shortcuts I have. Is it possible to have more than 5 by going into NG+, by the way?

okay, where are you Jews getting augment gold and augment luck? I'm tired of being a poorfag.

Augment Luck comes from the Mimics in the Oriental Lab, Augment Gold has to be made at the village.

>Valkyrie Dress overwrites the bikini mod

Attached: outrage.jpg (752x701, 60K)

Good
Cute >>>>>>> sexy

Deathtraps drop Augment Luck. Easiest place is a room to the right of the Warp point in Oriental Lab. Once you have that, you can craft Augment Gold using it (it doesn't consume your Shards, just material.)

What's the best way to dodge time stop? Directional shield and dimension shift pretty much randomly decide if they want to work

Crouch in the corner when you see OD beginning to pose.

blood

Attached: farming fangs for dummies.webm (1600x656, 2.36M)

At the very end see find a hat that makes it so you never use any rounds when shooting

Which enemy drops the luck shard?

gib link for bikini

Build?

bless you, you angels

Attached: 1542841955921.jpg (800x450, 104K)

just stack int and luck it's not rocket science the directional shard tome helps too
