Did anyone really like the warden of lighjt part? I really loved how our characters were in actual pain and legitimate danger.

Because Hydaelyn was designed specifically TO sunder the world and make into the shards. So all of her followers went with the flow and were sundered. Only followers of Zodiark were able to find a way to keep from being split as well, else Hydaelyn's victory would have been complete and nobody would have remembered the old world even existed.

It would have made more sense if they bothered to talk about his backstory. We just know he has spent basically his entire life collecting Minfilias and helping her fight sin eaters until Vauthry took over. Even if they had just explained his super snake it would have helped a lot.

Zodiark is the only one of Darkness to enjoy its duty as pariah and Ultima/Altima is the only one of Light who turned against the Occuria for sacrificing those of Darkness.

Had there been someone to lead similar to Gaius, it would've made good sense why the Skulls existed and not having them be obviously misguided by the idea of citizenship, because Gaius was the type to allow that sort of thing, even promoting a Roegadyn to a command position despite him not being Garlean. It would've been highly believable that he could've actually ran a province well enough to have at least a chunk of the original inhabitants throw their lot in with the empire.

ShB spoilers, but now that Zenos is in control of the empire, there's literally no redeeming thing to be said about it anymore. Theoretically, you could've agreed with Varis on some accounts, but Zenos is literally going to tear the world apart like a rabid beast. Pretty much all pretense of "could be good" is gone now, Ascians and Zodiark have a higher potential to be decent people by comparison.

What little we've gleaned about him was that he had been Eulmore's general for decades, he's probably old enough to have been born not too long after the flood started. His entire life, he's collected Minfilias and trained them, sending them to their death countless times, until eventually Vauthry rolled around and he snapped from the despair of sending so many young girls to their death in a war that by all definition at the time had no possible way to end.

His entire thing was that he wanted to stop fighting and instead let the current Minfilia live out her days in peace. In his dying breath, his "girls" were the Minfilias of old that he's going to see.

Of course, due to time constraints, we only really have that line and a few insinuations here and there without any explicit explanation for what motivates him. His solo duty was also kind of anti-climatic, it was a nice fight, but it didn't quite feel like enough against him, although a trial would've been too much. I would've liked it better had we beat the shit out of him so hard that he finally saw we could make good on ending the everlasting light or have him go all the way and become a sin eater during Mt Gulg.

Dancer can be fun if you play it optimally.
Every burst phase after the first it's basically a game of "how fast can you press these buttons within 20 seconds" while trying not to overcap during downtime.
They need potency buffs on single target though.

The echo only appears before a calamity. It's possible that the echo is granted upon merging with one of your sundered forms, which happens most often when a shard comes crashing back to the source. As shards face near-destruction as well, the echo starts to appear there too, possible because of its aether starting to flow to the source.

Just prior to the First facing its flood, their Warriors of Light were born and had the echo, possibly because the looming disaster made a connection to the source possible and souls of their split incarnations on the source's lifestream were able to pass back to the First and merge with them. For us on the source, the rejoining makes the echo easier to grant since we're already sitting on the combined aether and by extension souls of six other planets.

This the current gearsets are ass but people also forget drg also had shit starting gear in SB along with some fine tuning. It's the opposite.

I've done DRK one because is the only job I have at 80 and I guess that if every other job does the same it is not disappointing at all, but maybe not what you are expecting either.
It is not a story itself and more of an epilogue for your whole job story.

It feels like all the tanks are essentially simple DPS at this point. Never do I need to worry about aggro anymore even if the DPS aren't using aggro dumps or provoke+shirk from the other tank, I just do my tiny rotation all fight and doge mechanics. If it wasn't for tankbusters, I wouldn't even realize I'm playing a tank and not a boring version of a melee DPS.

With that being said, how should tanks continue to evolve? Is this what they should become, tougher versions of DPS classes that function almost identical beyond turning on an aggro buff, or should we go back to having more tank specific mechanics built around mitigation? Part of me screams out for losing utility and defensive cooldowns, but the other part says lets take this to its logical conclusion and fully make them blue DPS.

A tank's primary responsibilities in this game have always been positioning, mitigating incoming damage, and then shitting out as much blue DPS as you can. Aggro hasn't been an issue for years unless you're a complete braindead shitter. Things haven't really changed as much as you might think.

Losing the skill speed from blood weapon is really fucking gay. I wish they had made the new dark arts buff last for an extremely short amount of time, maybe just for 5 seconds after using one of your new MP spenders, but it also applied the skill speed that BW used to have. Then you could have the clone mimmic your attacks instead of doing its own shitty, random rotation and every time you use an MP spender, it uses one a second later that adds half the amount of time to the dark arts clock, to add up to 7.5 seconds per spender while clone is active instead of 5. That would be how I would uncuck the job in its current state and make it more fun.

Ive had most busters hit me for near 0 because i pop blackest and another cooldown. If TBN is 25% of your HP thats not terribly functionally different from the WAR raw intuition which is 20% damage on a 25sec cooldown, at least on current gear levels. I understand TBN gets bigger the more health you get. WAR also has more healing and a party shield for a % of your health.

You don't need to, and I never said you did. However there are times when killing off a character is a good idea and fits the narrative. Thancred's fake out was one of those times. His scene right after where he gives Ryne her name was nice but that was all he did until the end of the game. His arc was over right when his fakeout occurred and considering that it would've been more impactful to end it with his death rather than to just shove him to the sidelines.

Killing off characters isn't always a good idea, but neither is keeping them alive indefinitely.
