Something like this happened in Ace Attorney, right?

>final boss theme is the games main theme motif given lyrics, sang by the worlds last living 8 octave range singer in a made up language that has an english translation in existence and the song is about how you are either the savior or the bringer of doom, the language itself crafted by master linguists is a combination of japanese pronunciation, russian, ancient greek and latin verbalization and syllables

WHAT A THRILL

>as soon as you defeat her, the protagonist from the first game comes out to fight you and the remix of the first game's theme starts playing

Yup. One of my favorite moments from the series, too.

Suguri and Sora are underrated games, a little typical anime writing but amazingly fun and great OST

It's a shame we'll never get SUGURI III

Is that his hitbox?

>Rival boss theme is memorable, intense and hype as fuck

but is it the final boss music that uses the main theme as a motif or is it the main theme that is a remix of the final boss music?

FF6 is a little known example of this
youtube.com/watch?v=RbeXHTDVX8c
The ominous notes that plays during the title screen are the same ominous notes that lead into the final boss music. It's an interesting take on this trope because normally the main theme is happy and is repurposed as a fast-paced combat music. This time the music is slow and dark even in the first version, also the repeated motif is at the start instead of being a surprise in the middle.

I hate the final boss music of Terranigma and Chrono Trigger specifically for this reason. It stops just when it gets good and it immediately goes back to repetitive and uninspired.

>level entries in the hub world have their own variations on the hub's theme that increase in volume the closer you get

>Major point of the game’s setting is the fact that magic is done through song, normally via songstresses that also act as priestesses for the people
>The music in the opening to the game is sung by four women, each taking turns in the beginning and then singing in unison at the end
>Up to that point in the game’s history there have been four great songstresses including the original one who have saved humanity in times of calamity and then achieved enlightenment passing on to a new plane of existence said to be made entirely of song.
>Final boss is you and your songstress waifu versus the lingering anger and hatred of a dead god made manifest in the body of a mad knight who has become it’s avatar and has been playing everyone like a fiddle up until this point.
>You get your ass kicked and the perspective shifts to the songstress for the rest of the fight
>Though she puts up a good effort she’s losing ground and is almost defeated when she utters one final prayer to the songstresses of old for aid
>The avatar starts laughingly mocking her as he approaches saying she may as well pray to him for protection for all the good it will do
>Suddenly the song from the intro begins with each ancient songstress singing a line
>pic related
>They heard her prayer and came down from Nirvana to kick his ass.
>It’s the same song as the opening but with the current songstresses lines now overlaid
>She casts her stongest spell and it gets bounced between all of the songstresses who bless it and buff the shit out of it until it’s basically a tonal spirit bomb all in tune to the intro song
>The avatar realizes the fucking smackdown he’s about to recieve will be lethal so for all the turns spent charging he stops attacking, casts every defensive spell in the game, and then rips chunks of stone out of the ground to barricade himself finishing off by using his tendrils to create a final desperate barrier between him and this magical nuke.
>It doesn’t help at all.

The music during The Boss fight gave me kino chill first time I played it. She gave that epic speech, then a fight in that flower field right before it gets blowed up, that music, then dramatic execution shot.

>All the bosses have their own unique themes, but they all share the same opening notes.
>The final boss instead shares the opening of the first area in the game, which only played the very first time you entered it.

That is called an ostinato. They are pretty common in games and movies

Halo 3 if you can count the ending sequence as the final boss

FF14 fairly reliably reuses motifs throughout the expansions. Heavensward most notably in the final story battle.

name one (1) game

>Final boss theme is the theme from one of the big trailers years before the game was released

Or

>Game has a majorly recurring leitmotif that appears in 20+ tracks but it's not referenced in the final boss theme

> Final boss theme has a leitmotif shared with a song you hear in 5 minutes of the game's opening.

>>Final boss theme is the theme from one of the big trailers years before the game was released

Xenoblade X. Is the second one Atelier Ayesha?

>true final boss theme can only be heard if you don't swap out party members
>If you do it keeps the same initial loop

Attached: images.jpg (321x157, 14K)

>Start final boss battle
>Game's main theme starts playing
>Once the final boss gets down to half health it gets swapped out for the game's generic "crisis scene" music

What the FUCK

> Final boss theme has 2 phases/forms
> First part is instrumental. After like half health, he powers up and the lyrics kick in

Kino song too

Yeah, I don't get that massive fuck up. Didn't they repeat it for the Generations version of the fight too?

FFX

Although Otherworld is memorable for being cringy.
