Guess I'll have to post again. Would really love to see a few more clears on the Sawblade Trio, but I understand it's only for the patient and willing. Most fun one imo is the Airship stage, but Bounce-a-Rama is fun too in a "GOD FUCK STOP BOUNCING ME!" way.

Really fun course where you enter a fleet of airships and use their own cannonball salvos to traverse the skies and make it to the next airship. Medium to hard in the last segment.

Gimmicky snow stage where you use the superball flower to do geometrical shots and have your balls bounce off of things to reach places you otherwise couldn't. Not very long. Easy to medium in the last segment.

A long maze/puzzle course in SMB3 style.
Our heroes vacationed to a snowy resort, but to their dismay it seems to be haunted by ghosts! These spirits have turned the buildings innards into mazes.

There are 4 featured rooms:
1) Basic Bitch/Weenie Hut Jr's room
2) Stack 5 trampolines up
3) Obligatory escort mission( P-Switch and Key)
4) Find 5 Pink Coins and escape

Watch out most of the rooms are haunted by Seeking Spirits that will kill you. (If you move far enough away they will respawn)
The background of the course is useful to guide your way. Mushrooms point you in the general direction you should go. Lampposts indicate a useful item that should be used. Clocks are locations where Trampolines should be used. Fences indicate pits that have ledges on both sides.

It's long, don't complain, I put in 2 checkpoints in case that you die.

there are some interesting levels in the "story" mode and you can always make levels offline but if you want to play online levels or upload any you need Online

I’d say some are fantastic while a few are pretty disappointing, honestly I’m a bigger fan of the new editing tracks.

Can you even really call yourself a maker if you haven't built at least ONE (1) kino AESTHETIC thematic level for each level theme in each game style including nighttime variants?

I just speed ran the holocaust. The only issue I have is the unskippable cutscenes where they kill themselves or get bombed. I would prefer it if it were possible to kill them myself.

I saw some levels with backgrounds that look different than just putting platform to make a background. If I were to make a SM1 pyramid level with platform background, it would come out as light brown bricks, but I some some level with dark brown dirt-like background. Does the game change the background once you complete the conditions of what it considers to be an interior? I tried to make a closed off room with solid blocks then pasting platforms in the background, but it didn't change anything.

Some themes have different backgrounds for horizontal and vertical levels. SMB1 Desert and Forest are some of them. That's probably what it is.

You could always unlock the amiibo ones through 100 Mario Challenge.

It just feels like such a waste of assets to not have them back. I've seen some argue that their existence pushed a bias for SMB1 levels in the first game, but they were only included in the first place because SMB1 doesn't stand out to the other themes oherwise. As a matter of fact, data showed SMW (or NSMBU? It's been a while but I know it wasn't SMB1) was the most popular theme of the first game anyways so that theory's flat out wrong.

i enjoyed this very much. fun level with a solid concept but you never try and go full try hard with the difficulty. we need more levels like this desu

90's like 40-50 coins in 15 seconds. I'm sure there's something more efficient but it's also piss easy so if you just mindlessly grind while listening to a podcast or whatever you can get it 1000 out in like 15 minutes (considering load times etc.)

Not the best at puzzle stuff though.

I didnt had them in the 3DS version, stil was fun. The 3DS was the better mario maker.
The costumes levels were mostly shit. Only uncreative person used it.
And didnt knew you could get one by the 100 challenge, but stil it was a dorce to buy and use amiboo.

Was it difficult or just frustrating? I think someone left a boo on it too.

I'm not certain about what booing does for the level itself but I'm pretty sure it takes away maker points at least. I think earlier I had just over 200 maker points and then after having my newest level played by a couple of players my maker score dropped about 10 points.

As I mentioned in my previous post I think my maker score was over 200 earlier and now it's at 191. I can't think of any other reason why it would go down.

are you pissed that few people are playing your levels/leaving comments/likes? Consider whether your level has any of the following AIDS features:

>autoscroller
>ice physics
>relies heavily on kaizo blocks
>is heavily cycle based
>has a tricky section far into the level with no check point

If your level has any of these it's likely people will be turned off immediately. There are 1000s of levels for people to choose from, they don't really want to spend five minutes grinding attempts on your crappy level. Shoot for levels that have interesting mechanics or feels fun to play/have good flow rather than trying to make the hardest panga-tier shit.

I built a level in MM1 that was meant to be relaxing with minimal obstacles that were also easy too avoid if you paid just the tiniest bit of attention
A decently trained chimpanzee could have beaten that level I'm not even joking
I was expecting a >90% clear rate but instead got somewhere around 35%

Thanks, user! I've thought about taking out the firebar to make it less chaotic and then re-uploading it.

When you think you're done, add some polish. There are lots of background and foreground elements that make things look nice. "semisolid platform" is a great option instead of normal blocks. Add enemies that aren't hard, add some coin blocks that don't matter, pipes that don't go anywhere, you get the idea.

Completing the crane section and then falling back down to it higher up really was no fun because there was no leeway for most of the jumps. I timed out a few times. Invisible blocks that screw with vital jumps and have no forewarning as to where they are.

Pretty sure it's referring to hidden blocks placed in spots where you're almost definitely going to hit them mid-jump and die

A level that involves multiple use rooms. I missed a possible softlock spot towards the end so just keep still after you press the P Switch and let the contraption do its thing. You get a "true ending" for keeping your fire flower til the end and destroying the crown.

Nice, but a bit too short and too easy. Easy stages are fine, but there's not really anything to do in the stage other than go kill Boom Boom. Needs some more fun jumps and stuff. But a decent first try. Expand on it maybe

How do I consistently make walls that prevent the camera from scrolling? It seems like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Great level, love your use of the clear pipes. It was similar to how they were implemented in 3D World but done in a 2D environment. It was also neat to go back on the clear pipes to get the coins that were on top of them after passing them the first time. Challenge level was fair as well.

Come up with a location in mind and build around that. Think about what kind of enemy types would naturally inhabit said area and what kind of structures could be used in conjunction with the tools you have. There you have the ground work, now all you gotta do is string it together into something playable

I'd say its closer to Expert than Normal - that's the nature of doing many precision spin jumps in a row. It was fun though. I did get the one up at the start but I didnt see what was on the donut block path.

Eh. I'll add a spawner for it later. Or a block with one in too. Or just spam feathers all in the start.

You should give players a mushroom for the first segment. It's very difficult to focus on the snake blocks and the janky fish movement at same time, and as a result the level is mostly about memorizing fish movement.
The second part has an opposite problem. You give too many powerups and the challenge becomes redundant.
The block movement and obstacles where laid out quite well, just alter the powerups a little and you'll have a great level.

I would appreciate if you gave this level a try:

Room1: Put the shell on your head, break the middle part of the 4, jump into the now broken 0. A flying spring should open up a door.
Room 2: kick the POW block between the first two cannons. Leave and re-enter and you should get a spring. Use the POW block to get through the pipe, bring the spring with you.
Room 4: Use the spring to get into the pipe
Room 5: Start the moving platform, and place the POW block on the very center. When it falls out the bottom it'll move the cannon opening up the next door.
Room 6: Go through the orange pipe and grab the POW block then return. Place the POW block under the door, and do a running jump. There's a semisolid platform halfway up the door you can land on. Once you're up, climb to the top and jump on the blue platform dropping the cannon. You can now get through the red pipe below.

you can also lose it later on despite being able to retry at certain points, also its not about a matter of 'how could you miss it' its about the fact that if you miss it for whatever reason its not coming back.

small precision bouncing is really fucking hard, I'd aim for more large precision leaps like in the first part.

First death was me getting stuck in the bob-omb section. If you accidentally jump without a bob-bomb you can get stuck between the semi-solid and the blocks, I'd change that personally.

Iirc I only found one. But I'll go looking for them later anyway, since I have it downloaded and all. Difficulty was pretty normal.

But Last of Us 2 isn't out yet

Beat it. Liked the theme. Only complains were getting stuck in the bomb section, the double springs being kind of annoying, and that I managed to fuck up and run through the red pipe right away right before the end. When I came back into the room I only got ~160 coins and had to restart.

Does anyone have a link to that Mario Maker roulette some user made recently? I found it quite handy but my computer died yesterday so I lost all my bookmarks.

My problem with it still is that game has such a boring art style that if there's no clear pipes or trees I never can tell when I'm playing in a NSMB U level or 3D World one until I die trying to do something exclusive to the other style

all the "SMB1.5" courses I made have 3 big coins each (a 10, 30,and a 50), the last one is meant to be the most difficult. If you get it I'd appreciate if you put a comment there as it's kind of impossible for me to judge how many players are able to obtain them.

My internet is unstable. If I lose connection in the middle of playing a level is it going to kick me out or pause the game or some shit?

Honestly just way too much going on. There are a lot of cool ideas, too many actually (tracks for coin boxes, monsters on tracks, ON/Off block use, dropping ice blocks, giant enemies, falling icicles, thwomps breaking paths, a yoshi I didnt even get to, and more) but you IMO you need to cut some of it out and create some breathing space for better pacing and allow a clearer theme by just focusing on the track stuff which was all really well done except for the screaming giant caterpillar at end I could have done without.

Also the fact the red coins are unneeded is confusing as the other user said.

Enjoyed it overall though, Followed you so I can see what final product looks like. By the way how did you get the ice blocks to fall in that underground section? I wanna do that!

Small Mario in 3D world has no hat. NSMB does. Also you can see the ground in front of and behind Mario in 3D world, with NSMB it's just 2D.
