The fact that the game got delayed by like a year despite just being a remaster tells me they either put a lot more time into making it look/play better or they scrapped the original team on it entirely and gave it to a better one. The delay came right after the trailer that showed how bad the textures were.

The most important question is still this: is the game actually worth playing for its gameplay, or is it just memes? I’ve never really seen a good answer on that here.

It's a good game for sure, but without the ludicrous story and over-the-top mecha designs it'd be much less notable. It's kind of like Metal Gear Rising in that way. Probably worth it if the price is $20 or less.

If you want 6th gen FromSoft games that are underrated, talk the Otogi games. There's nothing like them in action games, and honestly the combat system is how a single-player DBZ game should be (3D floaty air-based melee combat with destructible environments)
