>Game gives you barely any time to do anything
>Survivor AI is shit, they constantly get stuck on things, get swarmed after pushing a zombie that wasn't in the way and don't even try to defend themselves otherwise, some are also slow so I have to pause and wait for them which gets us swarmed
>Can't give them weapons since I need them to fight Steven, there's no time to find any more
>Always have to escort them from the opposite side of the mall which takes forever
>Can't even take a shortcut through the courtyard because the exits seem too far away
>Would probably just get stun locked by the convicts and have to do everything again after they die, or I die trying to pick up the limping guy whilst getting shot, have to hope they get stuck on a tree
>Even after reaching Paradise Plaza I have to hope nothing goes wrong in the warehouse
>Saving is precarious since it can hard lock the game, but if I don't I have to do even more over again after one of them does something unpredictably stupid
This game feels really brutal and I'm not even that far in. Should I even bother trying to save everyone on my first playthrough?
Dead Rising
Store
>first playthrough
dont bother. a level one playthrough requires extensive planning and knowledge of the games events.
just start over when you die, you get to keep whatever level you were at when you died.
i didnt even attempt to finish until i was level 20
>Should I even bother trying to save everyone on my first playthrough?
Fuck no. You basically play through the game, hopefully get up to level 30+, then play it again. You shouldn't be shooting for heavy completion categories until max level 50. It makes a fuckhuge difference in terms of getting around, carrying important shit, and helping survives make it. Plus you get those beast ass chainsaws and just run up and slash WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
WEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Dead Rising is a litmus test.
Is you can't cope with a stressful timer or the idea that you can't save everyone you most certainly have autism.
HE AINT MY BOY BUT THE BROTHER IS HEAVY GAVE AWAY MY POSESSIONS AND MOVED INTO A CHEVY VAN YEAH THATS THE MASTER PLAN DRIVE OUT TO THE WOODS AND EAT CORN FROM THE CAN
Just enjoy it the first time round and don't worry about survivors or the side quests. Just follow the main quest line. If you can save any survivors then that's good but don't go out of your way to save them if you'll miss a main quest.
YEAH HE GAVE IT ALL AWAY
THE HARD ROCK BANDS
THE GROUPIES, THE BOOZE, THE ALL NIGHT JAMS
NOW ALL THESE FANS
ASKIN WHERE DID HE GO?
MEDITATIN ON A ROCK
LETTIN GO OF THE EGO
Just do whatever you want until you get Frank’s speed upgrades. It’s a whole different ballgame at that point.
>tfw get the call for when Jo's boss fight
Well shit, guess I have to drop everything I'm doing. I was having such a nice playthrough too...
Frank is fast!!
But need another game like dead rising that's not shit like their recent ones
I'm praying that Dead Rising gets the redemption that Hitman did. The way we all thought Hitman was dead after Absolution.
Yeah, I played by focusing on small objectives like getting 5 levels or beating a specific boss, realistic goals. By the time I went for my all survivors run I knew the game inside out, where all weapons, books, healing items, bosses, events, etc. all spawned. Getting the skills and upgrades helps, the game knowledge is what you really gain.
DR2 while not as good as the original in some aspects is still a fun game worth a playthrough, assuming you can deal with some canuck jank. Even DR3 isn't that bad when compared to the 4th game, just way too easy.
Where/when do I get the maintenance key? Do you get it towards the end?
I never beat the game because that dipshit with the radio kept whispering the whole time and i couldn't read the tiny ass text at the bottom of the screen. Fuck that guy.
get good retard
I felt 2 was a bit too big, put you on an even tighter schedule than in 1. And most of the crafted weapons were shit apart from a couple that were too good not to use.
>kept whispering
uhh otis doesnt have voice dialogue, the radio lines arent voiced
who the fuck was whispering?
>playing dead rising on a crt
Bro, a lot of people had CRTs back in 2006
I just assumed he was whispering because the text was too tiny to read, wish i could either just kill Ottis ir. Get rid of the radio
> game gives you plenty enough time if you plan ahead
> survivor AI is dumb but predictable. they only initiate in fights if they get come to a complete stop. if they do start fighting clear out their current target and get them to go to the way point again
Most people did, really, HD had not caught on at all when Dead Rising 1 released, lord knows why they decided to ship with text like that.
So I've been playing dead rising on steam and I've gotten the achievement for zombie genocide. Where does the mega buster show up, I cant seem to find it anywhere in the safe room
I played it with the HD switch flipped on so it was super tiny letterbox. Later I figured how to toggle on the 480p mode.
against the wall opposite the door in the vent room
I played it on a CRT in my dorm room when the game came out.
>accidentally give survivor a katana
>as soon as I turn around get cut in half
that was when I learned not to give survivors good weapons, just weapons that can keep zombies away if they need to.
Don't give them powerful weapons, give them weapons that can knock zombies away. Blunt stuff like bats. You cna always finish the zombies off.
It needs so e of the janky controls, but the resource/time management aspect made it a fun challenge that games haven't replicated well.
A dead rising with more options to protect the shelter/upgrade it would be nice throughout
>Save technician
>He fixes elevator
>Unlock shortcut
Etc type stuff alongside more importance of developing survivor relationship
>Couple of survivors are important and come with voiced dialogue
>Can talk to them back at safehouse
>Unlock more story options
Sorry for the phone pic, I'm on vacation and dont have internet, but I cant seem to find it in here
I played dead rising when it came on steam, I never had a 360 so my first exposure to the series was DR2 on ps3.
how's off the record? I just want some more Frank West
You have to find it, Otis mentions losing it somewhere down there I think. It's not needed to do practically anything as I recall.
try behind the vent, im pretty sure its against that far wall
I searched online and found out that apparently I need to get an ending in that save before the items will show up, good thing I kept my genocide save otherwise I'd have to do that grind again
