Thoughts on the GTA 6 leaks on Reddit? Seems pretty substantial and sites are already reporting on it.
>This GTA 6 leak is no joke. Posted on Reddit, user JackOLantern1982 has posted a lengthy bullet-point list about what is apparently included in the next Grand Theft Auto game, including the fact that it's set across multiple decades, deals with the rise of a drug cartel, and is set partly in Vice City. You can read the entire list of alleged information about GTA 6 below, but there's plenty more to this leak than just one Reddit post, as other leaks have popped up that corroborate the points in JackOLantern1982's post, like this one from Reddit user gfk53. Here's the entire suit of information, edited for clarity:
After reading through this, you are a fucking idiot if you actually believe this is real. It's yet another "autistic child writes up stupid shit and equally stupid children eat it up" episode.

Do you think V could've been a good game if they hadn't turned half the game's content into whale bait for Online?
Matthew Cook
No.

Journos report on Yea Forums rumors you retarded cunt.
A period setting again would be nice but I don't care if the missions are still ridiculously linear like GTAV and RDR2
Owen Collins
I thought the missions in 5 were really fun in their variety considering majority of missions in GTA and RDR are just "go here and shoot guys".
How would you do them?
Easton Collins
Missions will never not be linear in a GTA game. If you didn't realize, Rockstar can only do movie sequences.
John Ross
Considering how freaking huge GTA is in Brazil, I would not be surprised by Rockstar making a fictional version of Rio to catter to the brazilian fanbase, I mean, they already did that with Max Payne 3. But that goes against what Dan Houser said about GTA being very tied to american culture, so I'm calling it doubt.
Aiden Williams
Yeah, I really liked the buy three masks mission. Shit was cash.
Charles Fisher
>literally HEAT scene
I was hype.
Sebastian Hernandez
>one playable protagonist male, not female
BASED A S E D
John Williams
The idea Rockstar gave me when they talked to press was that the character switching/different roles during missions would be much more indepth. I remember them saying something about Franklin I believe shutting down a electrical facility in the country for some heist that never made it into the game with some other details I've forgot about but based on what they said would have been really cool. Instead we just get literal ripoff setpieces from movies like HEAT and other heist movies, and RDR 2 was not different. I would have liked for them to not just be you mowing down cops with families en masse basically, and with some actually decent and somewhat serious writing that's still fun, like RDR1. Them catering to the Brazilian audience with Max Payne 3 was a huge fucking mistake, though. It is literally because of them that the multiplayer died, because of how heavily netcode reliant the game is and the shit internet connections in Brazil.

Another thing: >set in the 1970's-1980's
I actually could see this happening, not only because fans are begging for a new GTA set in the 80's, but also because by doing this, Rockstar would avoid having to traggle down modern day american politics directly in their next GTA. Dan Houser already said he is glad that they are not releasing new GTA right now due to the current political landscape, so he pretty much already confessed Rockstar isn't eager to parody stuff like Trump, Antifa, etc... Of course they can still indirectly talk about the hot political topics of today indirectly (the leak itself already points to that with the whole immigration stuff) and that its much more confortable to them then a direct parody. My only doubt is how would they tie in GTA Online with the online portion of GTA 6.

>no female protagonist man, I was hoping theyd be daring and go for it. I want to see their asshole fem!protag. sucks man.
>missions from the government to introduce crack to the black community
Grayson Robinson
What? Max Payne 3's multiplayer is still alive and well, it started weak because the game itself didn't sold as much as Rockstar expected.
David Walker

I don't understand, what the fuck did MP3 have to do with Brazil besides the setting? Are all MP3 servers in Brazil or what?
Luis Smith
This would be the most based thing R* has ever done
Luis Lee
>gta leak don't believe these for a second.
Adam Butler
A game set in 1970-1980s wouldn't be bad, unless it's just the same shit as Vice City. I'm tired of that game and that city, the 80s weren't just about fucking Miami and the disco pop scene. The 70s and 80s are defined by the geopolitical landscape, not the fucking Hawaii shirts. The cold war, the small and large scale conflicts, revolutions, mercenaries, the weapons industry, etc. Not the pesudoscientific bullshit idea of "politics" we see today. With that said they're not going to do it, and they're probably not going to make you a drug pusher again either. A criminal, sure. But specifically a drug runner? Highly doubt it.
Will it have gameplay though? Or only retarded cutscenes and autoaim shooting like GTA5 and RDR2?
Ethan Lewis
>store weapons in your car I don’t know, that sounds kind of shitty to me. I don’t think they would do something like that. A big appeal of GTA is just being able to jump into any car
Ryder Martin
that's all it takes to make you like a game? you're just as bad as people who are happy about female protagonists.
William Bailey
Vice City was nothing like Scarface. It only had references to it here and there. Mainly the mansion's design.
Gabriel Anderson
sounds like the stupid shit from RDR2
William Long
Momma's little WHOWAAAA
Luis Diaz
Why is nobody talking about the most important part of a gta game, the fucking radio stations, LET ME WEAR A FUCKING WALKMAN AND LISTEN TO SWEET JAMS WHILE I SHOOT WOMEN AND MINORITIES FOR FUCK SAKES
Hunter Hall
>reddit go back

>development since 2015 >only on next-gen when did sony/microsoft ship dev units? or was it originally planned for current gen then scrapped
Oliver Ward
This just sounds like a natural extension of the system they already had in GTA V. Given how the personal horse system was well received in RDR2 and how a good portion of GTA players like to have their own vehicle, I can see this being a thing in GTA6.
Josiah Phillips
development doesnt mean full production, user. Maybe only some writers and designers sat together and figured shit like story out.
Jonathan Turner
this
rockstar are talentless hacks when it comes to actual game design. they encourage ZERO outside the box thinking. it's always scripted muh hollywoood immurshen
Parker Sanders
They won't do Vice City without having Tommy Vercetti as a side-character or villain.
This is fake AND gay.
Nathan Gonzalez
>development since 2012 >*production* from 2015
i have no idea how it really works, but i imagine that a company as big as rockstar is gonna be able to manage workflows, database conversion and propietary tools to not get trampled by the ps5 SDK not turning out exacty as they imagined.
i have no idea what it takes to develop a game for a console, but once you know ps4, you guess ps5 will be similar but twice as powerful, and you have master models you can down-polygon-count from, it can't be that bad, can it? they have enough time and money to rewrite the engine and the tools anyway.
