You just lose something in the transition from sprites to 3D and I think what's lost is kind of important to DS. Yeah, you can capture the feel by putting certain effects on the models and all, but it just wouldn't be the same, and knowing current Capcom's FG division they'd still fuck it up somehow.
Also the game would be censored to shit, no question. Keep in mind that Sony helped support SFV and the PS4 is pretty much the go-to system for fighting games right now.
