I was born in 1994 and got my first PS1 in 2000 Christmas and my first PS2 in 2004 Christmas. I basically played PS1 (or PSOne because it was the small version) for 4 years without even knowing about PS2. Was this normal for anyone else back then?
I was born in 1994 and got my first PS1 in 2000 Christmas and my first PS2 in 2004 Christmas...
Well I got my first PS2 in 2004 myself but I was born in '86.
i guess? 1997 here but my first set of games were Doom95 and a bunch of SNES titles.
What was your first console you bought new?
this bad boy right here
take 2. wtf i have this image saved on my computer, the phone data should be erased by now
Ah, i had old grey Nintendo DS too
>he didn't play DOS and Windows 95/98 games in the earaly 2000s
Got my PSone around late 2000. Got my PC around 2005. Got my PS2 around 2010.
PS1 is still my favorite console of all time. PS2 was a blast because I never played anything off it so I spent solid two years going through all the library, enjoying every minute of it. I still have both systems hooked to a CRT in my living room.
i always was jealous of you silver DS owners
I think blue looks nicer, but still DS was one of my favorite consoles of all time, i played the shit out of Animal Crossing, Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros
You were 6. It is normal when you're 6. Parents control what info you have up to that age. Dumb question
I got my first and last S*ny console in '98. A PS1.
Christmas 2004 seems late even for most poorfags. I started with a ps1 since my brother who is 3 years older than me and also born in 94 had one. Then one day in like mid 2003 we got a ps2
No, we had something called television.
No. I was born in 93 and still remember the news reporting on what I assume was E3 and Viewtiful Joe being the first next gen title I saw.
Im from 97 and my first ever game was Super Mario Land for the gameboy, I experienced the classic, based stuff first
Born in 92 and had a similar situation. I practically skipped that generation besides the few opportunities I had to play gamecube at some friend's house (and one friend who owned an xbox) and dreamcast in some random store, but for some reason I lived in a bubble where no one I knew until 2006-7 had a ps2 even though it was the most popular at the time.
Getting a PS2 late was weird as fuck. You were exposed to magazines and early internet and you saw all these awesome screenshots. Getting to actually play the damn thing and seeing that most of the games run at sub-30fps was a real disappointment.
2000 here. Played spyro and ctr on my old hand me down Ps1 until like 2006-2007
'93 here. Got my PS1 in '96, PS2 in '00.
i remember trying out Animal Crossing and it just didn’t grip me the first time around. what’s its appeal?
