As usual, the "you need to do generic trash quests before we can trust you!!' part.
Basically every time you meet a new race/tribe/people you have to go earn their trust.
This is most annoying in my opinion during the jungle/forest section with the furries.
Also the godawful overworld battle theme. Every other soundtrack in SHB is fantastic except that garbage. Glad I turned it off in settings.

There’s a fair amount of quests in this game that have you doing morally dubious things like that if you pay attention.

I fucking speeded through that, it only got remotely interesting when you got to the giants city and even then the pacing felt fucking weird.
