Are they really that bad?
G2A
For consumers, no.
For Devs, yes.
Not at all. Unless you’re a pathetic hardcore game dev bootlicker there’s literally no reason to seethe about them.
people only hate based G2A because it takes money away from cringe tranny indie devs
i've bought shit from there for like 7 years now and the only problem i ever had was with one game getting its code revoked a few days after i bought it, and i couldve gotten a refund from g2a for it but it was a really cheap 2 dollar indie game so i didnt really care.
BASED
the virgin g2a enthusiast:
buys games from g2a and "saves money"
the chad g2a serial refunder
HAS NEVER SPENT MONEY ON GAMES IN HIS LIFE
i had a friend who bought a few keys from this shit. he died because of it. be careful
>buy Key on g2a
>Key was bought with stolen CC
>Key gets removed from steam
>no refund from g2a
Why would you risk it
i never had a problem with any of the keys i bought.
I never had a problem with it, but apperently they started to do some really scummy shit recently. Something about automatically getting subscribed without giving any notice so they just take money automatically from your card eithout saying anything.
ive bought about 12 keys from them, not a single problem. just be smart with the buyer selection.
They're shady as shit. Every time you try to buy some game they want you to silently give you some subscribtion-bases shit
there's nothing like that
they do this admittedly scummy thing where just before checkout they have you autosubscribed to their g2a shield crap so if you dont pay attention you'll be paying for it, but if you turn it off once it doesnt seem to try to automatically do it again in my experience
yeah this is my experience too even though it's been a while since i last used g2a. it's easily avoided
This happened to me once but the money it took out was like only a dollar and 35 cents, so I wasn't just seething angry when I cancelled it. People really like to make a big deal out of things.
Their marketing strategy is pretty scummy but there are other popular cd-key sites like g2play and Kinguin that steal profit from developers and you never hear anything about those.
I still use those sites from time to time. Latest example was Hitman 2's new DLC stages. Through steam I would have to pay $40 dollars more. Fuck that noise.
They revoke the codes if you do that
pretty much this
the only time you'll really find people whining about g2a they'll either be on reddit or twitter
How do they end up stealing profit from developers?
they get keys for games then sell them for a lower price
Fuck devs
I hope everyone who has ever made a video game starves to death
but doesn't this mean that they would've had to have bought those keys at some point? Even if the scoundrels used stolen credit cards to buy the games for the keys, that stolen money is still going to the devs.
All stolen money always gets collected back
Especially if you stole from a credit company, they don't fuck around
its the part where the key gets sold again for money the dev/retailer never sees that they get upset about
how do you guys feel about all of those Humble Bundle keys on G2A? I'm guilty of having sold Humble Bundle games on there myself. I bought the big Sonic bundle a few months ago and sold the games from that bundle that I had already owned
People selling codes on g2a get them through credit card fraud (before changes on steam, also gift codes from sales), its actually WORSE than pirating. Devs from pirating olny lose "potential" profit, from cc frauds they PAY money for cc transactions.
