Did you turn him in Yea Forums or help him out?

Yea Forums will shit on Fallout 3 but this quest alone is better than any quest in Jew Vegas

First time I helped him out. A3-21 is a more beneficial reward than the perk.

Agree to help him, get the rifle, then turn him in, get the perk. No reason to do this any other way.

So uhh why did the commonwealth make blade runner replicants anyways?
Like seriously the Fallout 3 writer just stole an idea from Blade Runner and put it in with 0 thought.

Nobody knows, not even the Institute itself knows why they made them.

Harkness was a Courser, designed to catch runaway synths. Institute made synths to do menial tasks and because they are just a bunch of scientists who's main goal is to make sciencey shit. And yes, completely copied from Blade Runner.

The Institute is full of weak-bodied nerds, so they made robots to do things they couldn't.

OK but why make them look exactly like a human? Especially in a post-apocalyptic world which would value function over form.

>Harkness was a Blade Runner, designed to catch runaway replicants
>Tyrell Corp made synths to do menial tasks and because they are just a bunch of scientists who's main goal is to make sciencey shit
Oh fuck.

>haha what if we could make robots that looked exactly like humans and then replace all the humans with these robots
>Why? what do you mean why?

I can't decide from a screenshot, zoomer.

I need to see how he acts, what he sounds like, what he thinks of other things, how he responds to other things.

>t stole an idea from Blade Runner
>copied from Blade Runner.

I have literally no problem with this. Borrowing on great ideas from famous and popular stories is how new experiences get made, especially when it's from separate mediums like from film to video games.

>So uhh why did the commonwealth make blade runner replicants anyways?

You know what the stupid part about this is?
They're not even Robots.

The "3rd Gen Synthetics" made by the Institute aren't mechanical: they're gestated, genetically engineered, groomed, and grown in a vat- they're just fucking drones or to be more specific; clones. The 1st and 2nd gen Synths were robots, but the 3rd Gens are just clones they make at the lab and then surgically install a cybernetic switch in their brain that's responsible for commands, false memories, kill switch, programs, etc..

Like, they're not a "sophisticated robot" they're just fucking clones.
It feels like a massive cop-out, what was even the point?

When they innovate on them sure. Fallout never innovated on them. It's just a direct copy with nothing new or interesting. Even more so its completely out of place.

Turned him in. It's just a machine and I was hired to do a job.

Never said it was a negative thing, even if the tone of the post seemed to imply that.

Go back to bed emil

I don't get it, the only real option was to just leave him the fuck alone since the other guy was a corporate monster, while the other was a gal who was begging you randomly out of the blue to not do it. Like seriously, I was fighting super mutants and she just surprises the hell out of me.

>OK but why make them look exactly like a human?

You see what happened was that a bunch of nerds got trapped in the basement ruins of CIT, and in their infinite wisdom their best idea was build an army of robot waifus, but then after a couple decades of crushing mad robot pussy they turned to cuck porn and build robot men to fuck their robot waifus while they watched.

Then in their ultimate degenerated form they released their creations on the unsuspecting Commonwealth by replacing their loved ones with a literal robot double, the ultimate form of cuckholdry, where they don't even know their being cucked. Only the Institute scientists get the sick satisfaction of retrieving the data every time a synth has a sex with a human.

See if this was canon FO4 would be in my top 10

>Blade Runner
This is Yea Forums in 2019, they don't even know the actual original source for the Blade Runner movies. Does Yea Forums dream of electric electric sheep?

>"Is there a problem?"

Nice try, Blade Runner took a shitload of liberties with it, probably the one and only time where it actually worked out. FO3 is clearly referencing Blade Runner and not Electric Sheep.

More like The Caves of Steel, Robots looking like Humans is not a Bladerunner invention. And R Daneel Olivaw hiding as a human is very Bladerunneresque. So if anything, it's an Asimov reference.

Look you can try to pretend FO3 was referencing very broad concepts all you like but we all know thats bullshit and you just trying to feel smart on a Tibetan Quiltstitching forum
Don't @ me nerd

Actually believable enough to be a vault experiment.

Fuck Bladerunners
Fuck Deckard the replicant

OP is asking what you DID when you PLAYED THE GAME, not what you would do.

I kept accidentally running into tapes without any context until a random woman came up to me talking about an android even though I hadn't even listened to the tape so I had no fucking idea what she was on about. If you find Pinkerton by accident (which isn't exactly hard to do) I'm pretty sure you can also make him spill the beans even if you don't have a single clue about him being the one who wiped Harkness' memory. This quest is a disjointed fucking mess.

Wait what? This guy is the android? He's just right there though. How does Zimmer not notice?

>playing 3d Fallout games

robots and androids are tools made by man, I don't get why it's such an issue, this isn't enslaving other humans it's a fucking mech butler built to serve mankind

How about you don't give your toaster emotions then.
>they're not emotions they're simply programmed to think they are
It's still fucking retarded. We as human beings attach to shit that shows any kind of emotion towards us. People love pets and treat them like members of their own family, creating slave ovens and giving them the ability to feel they're slaves is autistic.

>get permission from Harkness to kill Zimmer
>get fancy plasma gun
>tell Zimmer who the android is for the reflex perk
>kill him as he's leaving the the room
>keep fancy plasma gun
>get thanked by Harkness

>How about you don't give your toaster emotions then.
exactly, giving them a semblance of emotion and will is fucked up, there's no reason for it other then to act like god and create "life"

I feel like the purpose is for having spies throughout the Commonwealth, but what are they spying on? The mayor of Diamond City is a sensible one to have, as is Danse , but so many others are weird.

Shaun isn't the brightest guy. He shut down the implant program, which allowed Kellogg to live for over a hundred years, because he felt it made humans "less natural".

>It feels like a massive cop-out, what was even the point?
To blurr the lines between human and machine, so that you would fall for Betheseda's ham-fisted slavery metaphor instead of seeing Synths as toaster with guns.

Nick is alright though.

So basically the Institute are jews who survived the nuclear holocaust and switched from pedophilia to robophilia while maintaining their pornographic tendencies and their goal to destroy the family unit.
