Can any fellow drawfags describe the change you made to your art style that helped elevate your anatomy the most? I've been drawing a while and know the basics, but it's still a massive weakness for me. I'm good enough at it, just not perfect and the rest of my skills are such that my imperfect anatomy/proportions stand out now. Does anyone here recommend using 3D modeling for poses, or is it possible to find really specific reference photos easily without Google?

Your face and hair are great but those limbs are stiff. Seems like you're using a reference photo which is good, but you're weak with 3D space and proportion. Best advice would be to do quicksketches for a period of time everyday. Consistent 30 to 60 second gesture drawings of the human form, there's a website for it. With enough time you'll start to naturally understand way the human body is proportioned and how it twists/bends from different angles. Keep doing whatever you were doing before, but take time to study each limb in detail and do multiple studies of each of them. When you feel weak with aspect of the body, take time that day to study it.
Most of all, don't get discouraged. Anatomy is a bitch and people who don't get annoyed by it are trying to impress you. You're going to redraw most of the things you do in your life if you're smart. It's more important to try something and understand why it failed than to start ten projects and scrap them all. Not to mention you get a usable picture out of it. I'm about to collapse but try to get a redline of that picture from one of the drawfags here or somewhere else. Redraw it until you get it correct, and if you don't know how to do that then go back to the basics.

I would justs like to say something. I've been watching these threads for ages and some of you are really good at drawing. I hope you are able to land a well paid job to put your skills to use in a professional setting. You deserve the recognition and reward.
Then focus on redrawing your pictures. Absolutely nothing I've drawn this month was perfect on my first attempt and that rarely happens even with more experienced artists. Find some circlejerk for art to post in and focus on quality. Those quick sketches are pretty decent, problem might just be you're impatient. That's not an insult, it's hard to maintain consistent energy on a picture you already spent hours on and are hating more by the minute. But, if you don't identify mistakes you can't learn. Hell, don't even be embarrassed if you take a week or more on something. Speed and all that comes later, but only after you learn how to take as much time as you need to get something right.

He is also known to ask for paid comissions from growing artists who deliver previews before asking for payment, never paying, and simply asking someone here to finish the sketch.

Can I ask what the appeal of getting requests completed is? On a surface level it's obvious, but as an artist I've always wondered about the psychology of people who frequently request works and commission stuff. For example, I sometimes get commissions completely unrelated to the type of stuff I normally draw, that confuses me. Not autistic fetish shit, just weird crossover requests or slightly cringe concepts. Stuff I don't want to publish on my blogs. It's these commissioners though who consistently commission me. There's also the pyscho people who will constantly DM you and ask for requests/shoot you ideas constantly. I was friends with this dude once who begged for a request which I did, then the next day he asked another artist to do it and I couldn't believe I wasted my time. Why do people get so desperate for these specific pictures that they waste time hounding F-list artists for them?

Hey everyone! Summer is nearly upon us, and the Summer Collab is underway! The chosen theme was characters at the the Public Pool! Jacinth is working on background.
To keep it interesting, instead of one group shot at the pool, he's doing different pictures in a Summer Scrapbook, to show off different scenes. He's already worked out a few ideas, but please include suggestions! Other ideas not drawn include a sprinkler scene in the kiddie-pool and characters waiting in line for ice cream.
Any specific character interactions are up to the artists, but if you draw your character(s) a certain way and want them in the water or in a certain scene when things are more concrete, please specify in your submission. Jacinth is more than willing to help as well; if you draw your character sitting but don't want to a draw a chair, he'll place them in a chair or raft upon request, for example - but feel free to add your own props!
