(you)

cool story bro

Nice b8 m8. I r8 you're gay/gay

Why play it through to the end then?

I actually did play it recently and it's not really anything to write home about. There's never any challenge. If you die, you just get teleported to the beginning of the dungeon. What's the penalty? Not to say that you'll ever really die though, since you can autoaim stunning and damaging projectiles. That only leaves the puzzles, which are, frankly, not good. I never had to think about what I was doing. The solution was always obvious from the start of the room. See some unlit torches? Well, the solution is clearly to light a stick on fire and come back to light them. The fact that pushable blocks have special dedicated symbols is just patronizing.
Personally, I think that the game should have taken a Zelda II approach and just focused almost entirely on the combat (obviously tweaked a bit to be more interesting), with the dungeons being sprawling labyrinths full of tough enemies. I would have liked to see more enemies like the wolfos and stalfos; which can be z-targeted, but not trivialized by it (as long as you don't abuse stunning items, which make it way too easy), and force you into an actual duel of sorts. These enemies reminded me of Zelda II's shield-bearing knights and lizardmen, and were a welcome, if only slight, increase in difficulty.

Way too obvious.

Did you seriously just lump my 2-paragraph review, wherein I gave the game a fair critique and even praised it a bit, with OP's "lol it sucks dont play it"?

I never had this game as a kid for whatever reason so I bought the N64 version a couple years ago and gave it a go. I got to Gerudo Valley before dropping it because it just felt like a chore to play. I can see why people like it but it just did nothing for me.

Based lovelies. This game sucks, Egoraptor is right about it.

What is a lovely?

nibba didn't play the far superior enhanced 3ds version

People that don't like Ocarina of Time

I () did. I have to say that the game does look very nice for a 3DS game. The colors used are excellent, and it's one of the only 3DS games where I liked the 3D effect. My only complaint about the 3DS version in particular is that it came out before the New 3DS, because I feel that it would have benefited greatly from the camera nub.

>See some unlit torches? Well, the solution is clearly to light a stick on fire and come back to light them.
I see you played the first dungeon and only the first dungeon.

I talked about enemies that occur later on in the game, so that cannot be true. Did you want me to talk about and address every puzzle in the game? It never gets more involved than that. See a button? Push it. See a blue button? Find something to keep it pressed down, or act quickly. See one of the huge, impossible-to-miss eyes on the wall? Shoot it with an arrow or slingshot seed.
Wait, are you one of the dunces who had trouble with the Water Temple?

egoraptor is wrong about most of his complaints though. First one that comes to mind is the wolf enemies and the like that block. As both adult and kid link you have ways to stun them and fight against them but he thinks it's basically impossible. Hes dumb as shit and I guess you are too for thinking he knows anything about video games

That said, alttp is better

>just watch it on youtube
Same. I played this overrated piece of shit on an emulator recently and couldn't believe how boring it is. Zelda games in a nutshell.

>oh golly this 20 year old game that came out before I was born built on less tech than my roomba didn't blow my socks off
>where are the hour long cutscenes? Where are the epic storylines spanning over multiple games?
>this isn't The Last Uncharted of War wtf old games are shit

user, that post was clearly sarcastic.

Play russian roulette with a full chamber, seems like something more up your taste.

>>where are the hour long cutscenes? Where are the epic storylines spanning over multiple games?
>>this isn't The Last Uncharted of War wtf old games are shit
Did you read my post? I literally asked for it to be more like Adventure of Link, an older game with no cutscenes and barely any story. I seriously doubt that you read my post fully.

This. The only good 3d Zelda game is Breath of the Wild (pic related)

and no, I'm not being ironic, I really feel this way having played every zelda game

Attached: 20544.jpg (590x336, 24K)

banjo kazooie and mario 64 are still fun to play though

oot is just a fucking boring slog all the way through

Nigger your suggestion was even worse and shows that you clearly don't understand Zelda games at all.

>I actually did play it recently and it's not really anything to write home about. There's never any challenge.
Ok so it's easy. Now how about how it has a decent well connected world design with varied locations, or memorable characters. No mention of how well incorproated Z-targeting is, or how it still controls great to a point where they haven't needed to expand upon it? At the very least are you going to say it has an amazing soundtrack?

Or is the only aspect you are going to talk in consideration of is difficulty?

Hi Arin

OMG Yea Forums! Why is the very first 3D puzzle
adventure game so fucking bad in the year 20 fucking 19?!

Shit taste bro. Props a zoomer that grew up with Skyrim

It's not though. It's still one of the best after all this time.

So you think that Zelda II is bad?
> Now how about how it has a decent well connected world design with varied locations, or memorable characters.
I avoid mentioning things that aren't gameplay-related when critiquing a game.
>No mention of how well incorproated Z-targeting is,
I mentioned that it's good when fighting certain enemies. I actually find it to be a detriment for others, because it allows you to just kill them instantly with projectiles.
>or how it still controls great to a point where they haven't needed to expand upon it? At the very least are you going to say it has an amazing soundtrack?
Is this my assessment, or yours? Do you want me to mention everything that YOU like about the game? This post makes me think that you would only accept a review that you agree with.

So, tell me, is there any kind of negative opinion in regards to OoT that would not accuse of being "Arin"?

>Wait, are you one of the dunces who had trouble with the Water Temple?
Did you actually play the game or are you just regurgitating what you heard a certain self absorbed prehistoric creature say? The water temple has a central puzzle that isn't any of the things you mentioned, all of what you mentioned is in the first dungeon though.

It was a stepping stone to modern masterpieces like Dark Souls and Witcher 3, who would never have been made without OoT. Obviously it wont hold up great compared to such games that pretty much have perfected the action adventure genre. But back in the day this shit was mind-bogglingly revolutionary and amazing. Zoomers will never understand, and that's their loss.

>I avoid mentioning things that aren't gameplay-related when critiquing a game.
I can understand that with characters, but level design is an integral part of gameplay.
>Is this my assessment, or yours? Do you want me to mention everything that YOU like about the game? This post makes me think that you would only accept a review that you agree with.
I will admit that I formatted that poorly, (in my defense I haven't slept in approx 32 hours). However I do expect someone to mention more aspects of the game, even if just gameplay wise, then how difficult it is.

It's not difficult though. You just need to pay attention. If you're not playing the 3DS version, you just need to memorize what each water level-altering switch does, maybe with a paper and pencil if needed.
I'm going to be honest with you. I have a very hard time praising something like level design. I don't know what to say other than "it's good". So: It's good. There you go.

>Adventures of Link
Trying way too hard my man.

Not a bad game, not even close, but is the epitome of overrated game.
Is one of the worst Zelda's out there, 2 or 3D.
But I can see where it all came from, playing this on a console in 98 would made an imprs in me too, sadly I played in 2015.
I think the buzz around is justifiable for the legacy and the nostalgia.

>It's not difficult though
Whether or not something is difficult is subjective, the fact that the dungeon revolves around a puzzle that isn't as you described all the puzzles in the game as being is objective.

Found the casual
I bet the crocodile men at death mountain walled you, faggot

Again, I'm not going to list every kind of puzzle in the game. That's insanity. My point is that they aren't interesting to me and I never really had to think to solve them, so they were a negative in my eyes.

>My point is that they aren't interesting to me and I never really had to think to solve them, so they were a negative in my eyes.
That's not what you said before.

yeah I know you're not being ironic, I have to accept the fact that some people just have really shit taste

Next you're going to tell us how BotW is so much better and throwing out the formula was the change the series needed.

Have you got another game with puzzles that you find difficult. Puzzle adventure games are different for everybody some puzzles you'll always see and others you won't. Nintendo Guides players incredibly well to solve the puzzles thus the flow of the game isn't slowed to a stopping point.

Still too obvious.

Based

it was awesome when I was a kid

maybe we're not supposed to be playing vidya anymore..

Maybe I shouldn't say 'best', but botw is my favorite 3d zelda game. Yeah I remember being 12 and playing OOT and MM and they have a special place in my heart but BOTW is really fantastic, let's not hate it just because a generation of players who never played the N64 titles love it.

ITT: 80 year old dinosaurs don't want to admit their game is complete garbage

I wouldn't call it a piece of shit but its definitely overrated. Majora's Mask is way better, but that too is also overrated a bit. Both are still good games though.
