NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

based

Astronaut combat, but with future tech to completely negate the one interesting aspect of space combat, the recoil

did you watch the trailer? one guy shoots a bolt action rifle and it clearly sends him back a foot

Based.

I don't know why anyone would give a shit about some chink clone of Shattered Horizon, a game that was fun for 5 minutes but very quickly died.

The gunplay in this looks like absolute ass, and weapon customisation isn't an interesting gimmick. People will work out the optimal build for any gun platform within 5 minutes, custom weapons as a concept DO NOT WORK in MP and never will because the genre is built around the min-maxing ideal.

I'm interested, not sure anything's really tried to do this style of combat since Shattered Horizon.

Fuck the sims, when do we go to space war with space china?

Attached: spengies.jpg (1600x900, 914K)

first post, cleaning post.

There are plenty of games with customizable weapons where people often make non-meta builds work.
My issue is that its an MP only game made by a literallywho studio from China for an exclusive platform (PS4). I'm certain the game will lose whatever playerbase it builds within a few months of release, unless the devs do almost continuous content updates.

I wish it had a campaign mode, because the setting and art direction are pretty cool.

The one interesting aspect of space guns is velocity inheritance, so when you fire a shot it moves with you, and velocity transfer, so when you're hit by a projectile it alters your movement path.

Unfortunately, shitters can't deal with mechanics like this. I'd love to play Tribes in space, accelerating to the speed of sanic so I can rape someone with a projectile moving twice the speed they think it should be moving at.

I like this pic

And before anyone complains about sound in space, it was all simulated.

It's coming out for pc and xbone too but at a later date
It's one of Sony's "China Hero Projects" where they bankroll chink devs in exchange for a cut of the post-launch revenue

Attached: playstation-china-hero-project-cover.jpg (600x300, 99K)

holy shit this looks amazing

Or in other words, help China takeover Sony one game at a time.

Just a dumbass question.
Is it possible for a normal gun to shoot in space, don't you need oxygen?

does it have battle royale? no? ill pass thanks

get the nosteam edition, conflict resolved

But they probably log your shit just from playing it

It's too late, Chinafornia already got em

Fucking ouch.
Also
>guns in space

Oxygen is in the bullet already.

From /k/:
>regular guns work in space
>most of the heat will be radiated away, you likely won't even need external cooling (liquid nitrogen, etc.)
>you can mitigate recoil with advanced buffer system, use some kind of balanced recoil like AK107, you can bleed gas from weapon to propel you forward to balance thrust, you can use a lightweight and high velocity projectile, you can use a muzzle brake which take out most of the recoil, and if all those don't work, you can still use your precious propellant from MMU to balance the recoil
>you can use some kind of solid lubricant, someone suggested graphite
>you can do caseless, or CT to save weight, but basically you can take a small arm with zero to little modification and it'll work fine in Spess if there's any slim chance of Spess infantry zero-g combat at all, and not just ships sniping each other from millions of miles away with rail guns and missiles

Will it have sound effects? I hope not, because there's no sound in space.

gunpowder has its own oxidizer, they work fine

>guns in space
>implying

Attached: 1561927966721.jpg (1920x1055, 579K)

Simulated sounds are best way to do it. Especially if there's a way to fuck up your HUD and sound systems.

Guns are perfectly capable of firing in space, the issue is getting rid of heat.
/k/ has a thread discussing the mechanics of firearms in space up.

What do you mean? Implants that would let the characters hear their sorroundings?

>chink game
>coming to PC as a port
D R O P P E D

Attached: echk.gif (200x270, 1.09M)

All you're going to hear is The Blue Danube and hitbeeps

Guns look dumb, COD shit

What is that supposed to mean?

Attached: 47392017_p2.jpg (1280x720, 314K)

Implants? All you need is headphones, and something as absurd as an AI system detecting all data around you and fabricating realistic audio for it.

Computers in the suit detect the various gunfire around you and replicate it as sound. Just think about all the ways that humans rely on sound where their eyes can't look, like behind them. It should ideally be imperfect, of course. You can only hear what your team's suits can see (which isn't necessarily where you can see), and any kind of EMP is going to leave you utterly deaf.

Why would they build an AI just to hear fake sounds?

Looks cool
3dmark already tried this though.

Are you implying modern guns can't fire in space?

Attached: 1559620515965.png (709x1000, 440K)

Tacticool advantage. Why you wouldn't just strap a gun to a camera platform and have the robot kill all the chinks trying to invade your space station is the real mystery, but hey, whatever.

gross and chink

Yeah, I guess it would make sense if the outer space became a war zone. Then again, I'd prefer no sound effects at all, minus HUD feedback and atmospheric soundtrack.

Because humans rely on sound to convey such information.

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Cool concept but it’s super unfinished, another typical early access scam.

Sounds boring desu

Janitors don't work for China, and neither does Hiromoot. Fuck off with your shitty meme.

BF1 had something similar in its animations too, where each weapon model had a bunch of separate elements that bounced and wiggled as needed during firing and reloading

>they admitted parts of the original banishment scroll were censored
>don't work for china
Nice try gook.

Your dumb meme doesn't even work to begin with. Nobody believes CIA lies.

I want new Space Robinson Crusoe games

>in space
>not wearing all-black/blue suits for camouflage
dropped

The more I see shit like that, the more I wonder how the Space Force will look like.

what

There will be no space force. It's just lies by the Trump-Clinton establishment. USA is reliant on Russia to get its astronauts to the ISS. It has no capability to launch a rocket on its own, and never will.

unless we beat the lift-off insane energy costs, it will keep looking like 5 kilo unmanned satellites accompanied w/ occasional low-orbit nukes
youtu.be/PgtLjj4Ka08

Wow the chinks really are in this thread

have you read/heard of Robinson Crusoe?

If chinks taking over Sony means getting rid of the "muh no sexual suggestive content" bullshit then I welcome or new ching chong overlords.

US doesn't even own those satellites anymore. Sold the GPS system to China years ago.

BRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBR

Jokes on you. The only group more puritanical than Commiefornia is the Chinese Communist Party. They're all lockstep on nearly every issue. Really makes you think as to why that would be...

Yes but I never heard of Space Robinson Crusoe and you said new which implied there was an old one

Nobody is going to publish a game where China is the fucking badguy.

China is the good guy, though.

This game seems to be space rentacops vs space pirates

Did you read the part where this is from a Chinese developer? And the United States are the bad guy?

>Chinks are a diamond dozen in California
Hmm yes, that does indeed make one ponder.

Someone didn't play Battlefield 4 I suppose.

Attached: Desktop_2013_11_06_07_56_17_333.jpg (1920x1200, 495K)

The United States cannot be the bad guy, this doesn't make any sense. Every time shit goes down all over the world they always call us for help.

Yeah but they immediately forget after the crisis is over and start complaining again so it's okay

And notice how they stopped making games set in the modern era soon afterwards. HMMMMM

>thunderfoot

no thanks

USA is the bad guy in real life, though. Funds dictatorships throughout the world and spits upon the dignity of humanity. Americans force each other to eat pigeons and dirt, then shoot each other because didn't come to school on time.

ok, imagine Robinson Crusoe, but instead of an island he's stranded on some planet (Subnautica, Solus Project)
>but I never heard of Space Robinson Crusoe
I find such complete absence of abstract thinking and, particularly, inability to connect two dots together in younger generation apocalyptically dangerous. I hope it's not the barrage of informational sludge that leaves people's brains no time to learn to think.

But if you don't come to school on time, wouldn't that make you late for the shooting too?

Nah, BF's fanbase despises anything that's modern or futuristic.

>le thundercook

Good job constantly shitting on the Americans who hate this shit because of your brainlet understanding of reality.

no, it was 100% sincere lamentation on state of things, my little dummy

I sort of feel bad for you but then again you really have nobody to blame but yourself.

Reminds me of cod ghosts.

This, my bro says he likes it because its realistic and immediatly will dismiss anything that isn't running on the ground with variations of the same gun and regen health.

>>Yes but I never heard of Space Robinson Crusoe
You've never played Robinson's Requiem?

Zoom-zooms these fucking days.

>I sort of feel bad for you
don't be - go read a book to improve your vocabulary or something, instead

infinite, more like

What a shitty looking game, gross. I hope some nigger steals your pain meds old man.

Planet? Make it a space station or collection of wrecked stations & ships. Now you have to worry about managing air along with food, water, and power as you try to salvage what you can from the wrecks. Throw in some threats from meteors/space junk, or malfunctioning machinery, to give you something else to worry about while you try and fix up one of the old stations to the point you can send some kind of distress signal

Don't get so mad nobody cares about your autistic ramblings about space robinson crusoe. You have the creativity of a Netflix writer you fart huffing boomer.

Looking at the first post in this thread and all its replies I’d be worried about the mental fortitude of anglos in a war

Attached: star shelter.jpg (460x215, 85K)

>Don't get so mad
i think you're projecting your own emotional response on others a little too much (which is an actual symptom of mild autism)

You launched into a vindictive tirade over someone asking a simple question and generated some strawman to get mad at. You sound like a fucking KIDS N THEIR POKEMON CREATURES caricature and you're acting like some wannabe intellectual over a book we all had to read in middle school. Jesus dude, consider suicide.

I'm going to space force my cock down your throat amerifat

i agree, the role of the 'shipwreck' can be assigned to anthing (abandoned station / actual wrecked spaceship or ruins of dead - or is it? - civilisation)
Any first person games like that? Besides Subnautica, Sol. Project and

Its a Chinese game

You have a good day, too, autismo *tips hat*

Girls in spacesuits is an obscure fetish of mine.

Breathedge might fit that description, I haven't played it though fuck early access.

Good luck with your social retardation friendo, maybe try not sperging out as a reflexive response and you might attract female attention someday have sex

>gray spacesuits
Enjoy absorbing more lethal radiation, I suppose.

Using modern ballistics in space is VERY doable, air is not needed for the reaction to occur.

Gotta denote the evil Americans somehow.

cheers and don't worry about my relationships - make sure you have some

Attached: Clipboard-11.png (850x296, 67K)

So it's a Chinese pretending to be american for advertising? The point about space forcing my cock still stands

Fuck off, nobody would ever want to pretend to be a fatass American.

Personally the peak of intellectual novels (a subgenre I coined myself) is 1984 by George Orwell, a book which sadly nobody ever reads these days but they should because it's almost like it's being used as an instruction manual these days...i pray for the soul of modern youth...

Attached: 1556686366632.png (300x698, 256K)

No, two types of games are gacha and autochess. Western retard.

How the fuck do people even know about Shattered Horizon when at peak it had only 31 concurrent players and it currently maxes at 2-3?

I already played this.

Attached: THIS IS GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM.webm (640x360, 2.94M)

>aeiou with guns

I was quite interested in it's development but by the time I had a system that could play it, it was dead.

Because there aren't a lot of shooter games set in Earth orbit.

I enjoyed infinite warfare's campaign. Really digged the design of the weapons, armor and ships.

i read it - it was depressing as fuck, I hate brit novelists for that (also, the ending of hitchhiker guide to the galaxy - i mean i get the point, but fuck... those are liveleak of books)

Guns can't fire in space you fucking dummy. you'd have to cast hexes on your enemies instead irl.

Why doesn't Yea Forums just organize a time to play it? Far as I can tell, it is still possible to download and play with a steam key. Steam charts imply servers still exist.

CoD has had some surprisingly excellent visual design in its future tech. I'm not a fan of Treyarch's take on it, but the other studios have done great work.

Attached: Helljumping.webm (640x360, 2.93M)

looks pretty good, but I'm sure I thought the same of Shattered Horizon

based

You'll hear everything localized to your suit.
Just heavy breathing, the thud of your weapon's recoil transmitted into your body, and the sweet sound of bullets tearing holes in your suit.

>the only future tech game coming out is Cyberpunk 2077
>barely any futuristic tacticool stuff now
I hope I can get some tactical stuff in Cyberpunk 2077 to scratch that itch.

steamcharts.com/app/18110

do yourself a favor and watch Roughnecks as well (Pluto and Tesca campaigns/seasons are the best directed ones w/ self-contained stories - the rest is a wash

I know the feel. Only thing I want from CoD is an AW2 with smoother transitions between boost movement and normal movement. Instead all I'm getting is fucking Fortnite, WWII, and MW Remastered 4th Edition.

Attached: Bail out.webm (853x480, 2.87M)

I found it at G2A. 4 or 5 Bucks seems like a lot for a dead game though.

>two ships are in opposing orbits
>shortly before they come close, some guy fires a bullet
>the first guy killed in a space drive-by is hit by a bullet traveling mach 40 relative to him

Attached: 2v5kj9.jpg (720x565, 38K)

It's peak was definitely more than 31. It's probably from before Steam started recording playercounts, by my memory it was one of the earlier games on the platform.

>what is Dragon 2

Wait, someone else actually played that game?
It was kinda shit but it was neat in how far it went with it's survival simulation. Malaria is more dangerous than dinosaurs, it turns out.

The momentum of projectiles is very small relative to an astronaut.
If a small projectile has enough momentum to alter your movement path significantly it's going to annihilate your suit/body.

Why americans knowing this shit don't do nothing?

In Starship Troopers they use a drop ship like in Aliens or Halo Pelican.

I was more talking about a theoretical game here with large projectiles and some kind of magical shield systems for the sake of being fun.

Not this chink garbage, guns in space are already stupid as fuck.

America isn't even a good launch site anyway. Geographically, Indonesia is the best place to launch rockets. Right on the equator, plenty of uninhabited flat land ripe for development into launch sites, and lots of water around to safely ditch stages in.

>Funds dictatorships throughout the world and spits upon the dignity of humanity
It's for America.

Attached: funnyval.png (500x528, 70K)

>guns in space are already stupid as fuck.
Why?

Not in the book they don't.

they also depict the orbital drop in vidya and cgi tv show

No conflict in space is going to be settled with dudes with guns, at best you'd get proxy drones.

It's up to you if it is worth it to try the game. It has two dead servers with bots and a simple player mode.

it has non-english words in the thumbnail that mean it good. yes product.

Ah that's right, we're all peasants and can do nothing. We cannot even discern truth from CIA disinformation. We can only do exactly what the CIA wants us to do, bicker and condemn anyone who does something.

If this isn't based, I don't know what it is.

Their weapon design sucks ass mostly though. Shit like vector witg dual magazines or ak47 with some randon wires slapped on it was just stupid.

energy of a single 9mm bullet ~500J
Energy of a spaceman, flying at orbital velocity ~ 2'000'000'000J

They can stack up, especially for the guy unloading mag after mag, so they'll have to compensate w/ auto-thrusters or something like that

Sadly, I kind of agree. The basic concept of this game, just like Shattered Horizon, is highly distilled combat with unique movement, ala an arena shooter. We've already seen that the arena shooter genre is no longer viable.

Is this a Robocraft satellite?

No they fucking didn't retard. They merely tested how their aircraft gun would work in space. If you need to take down a satellite in space you just put a bucket of metal balls on the right orbit.

Science you fuking dumbass

Attached: 1556490276091.png (424x444, 363K)

Space movement is hardly an arena shooter. What SH basically devolved into was just a very dull camping game, because moving got you killed very quickly and you were better off hiding because movement paths were extremely predictable and slow, and visually confirming enemies when they can be at any point around you vertically as well as horizontally is a fucking mess.

It's the epitome of "cool on paper". A game like this set in zero-G within the confines of actual corridors and stuff might be neat, but space combat is really not suited to outdoor environments.

Or you can loft an ASAT missile into orbit from a fighter jet.

Attached: F-15 launches satellite.webm (748x420, 2.2M)

Wouldn't a single shot be an installkill since it pierces the suit?

Someone post ChoDE webms with actual space combat already.

Its a videogame, and since they're space mercs or whatever, they've probably got some self sealing suits that can take a limited amount of damage

You'd want kg⋅m/s not joules.
