Okay, i can see why you would like Goomba more.
I prefer the Plants with Green lips and far more spots, it looked more like a plant, but i can see why someone might like the clown lips.
But HOW for the love of god can you defend the new Koopa design? it went from turtle to yellow Yoshi, even being bipedal nowadays.

Really it's more like Super Mario 64 just altered a lot of designs to make them fit on the N64.

Once the technology got more sophisticated with the Gamecube/DS/GBA, you see the designs go back to evoking their incarnations in 2D art.

That's what koopas look like. They look like turtles with a protruding "beak"
If anything, the bipedal look is just some weird holdover from the shellcreepers from Mario Bros. They've been defacto bipedal since the SNES.
It's not like that's even rare, considering Hammer Bros variants and indeed Bowser himself walk around on two legs.

For sure? i can picture flowers with colors like that, and i still think the green lips looked better.
The eyes were cleary changed to look like Yoshi's and i'm very sure they walked on all fours in SMW as well.
Bowser it fits for as he's always been depicted as the more viscous and smart kind of Koopa, like a Grizzly, and he's never been depicted on all fours.
