>Although Sony is clamping down on saucy content in PlayStation games, Nintendo appears to be quite happy to leave any censorship decisions to rating systems.
>The Japanese company recently reaffirmed this during its 79th Shareholders meeting, when president Shuntaro Furukawa was reminded about "other platforms" applying restrictions independently of CERO (Japan's rating organisation). This was his response on behalf of Nintendo (thanks, Censored Gaming):
>"Nintendo, as do 3rd-parties and their software, applies for an objective rating from 3rd-party organizations prior to release. If platform-holding companies choose arbitrarily, the diversity and fairness in game software would be significantly inhibited. We provide parental controls that can be used to apply limits."
>As noted, parental controls can also be used to restrict younger players from accessing mature-themed content.
This. Also I hope Japanese devs come together to file a class action lawsuit on Sony to put more pain on Sony.

If they have to stay in business they are going to sue Sony since their games sold best on them and just in case their games sell poorly on Switch and PC which is the reason they need to sue Sony.
i hope this means the steam ports are also uncensored, although nintendo's systems being the base is also kind of annoying since they limit what can be done due to weaker hardware
Glad I got a Switch. Never got a PS4 (but used PSNow to play Bloodborne and GR) and I definitely won't be getting a PS5. Hopefully some new releases beyond 2020 are worth upgrading my PC for.
Cameron Kelly
Nintendo was on the same censor streak during the WiiU days, most notoriously with #FE.
Xavier Mitchell
I have been disappointed with Sony recently. I love Bloodborne and will keep my ps4pro + the games I have for it but I wont get the ps5

>nothing to censor >games in OP is uncensored on Switch and censored on PS4 Based dumbass.

Didn't they censor like 3 games? Not sure if it's comparable. Also, Sony changing their headquarters to California makes it a lot more concerning imo.

That's unironically the best news i've heard in the past.... what, years now? Any time we get any news it's always >we're bending the knee to the 3 sjw's on twitter that don't play video games
Daniel James
They still censor dialogue.
Tyler Carter
I mean you kind of have to considering its not localized on the PS4

This state sucks t. lived in California for most of my life
Jackson Lewis
now we just need to go back in time and have nintendo uncensor xenoblade 2
Anthony Gutierrez
what's being from California have to do with censorship? legitimately curious.

It's the SJW capital of the world.

Silicon Valley. Also California is extremely "liberal" and "leftist" which nowadays apparently means you need to be pro-censorship since all the big corporations are pro-censorship. Basically, California is a borderline dystopian shithole full off genuinely terrible people ruled over by a handful of shitty corporations run by sycophants and sociopaths.
Jordan Jackson
So an I.T oligarchy?
Gabriel Lopez
Basically. California is always peddled as the de-facto "leftist" state, but the actual most leftist state would probably be Massachusetts since it's largely anti-corporate or at least moreso than many other states. California is just a bunch of woke corporatists doing the bidding of their corporate masters because they're retarded.

The other user mentioned that Sony moved their HQ to California. Although California is a progressive state the ethics departments of major companies that are based here are very tight fisted, thus, the wave of censorship. I find it odd that a state inhabited by people who think of themselves as progressive would censor video games. It's also a huge nanny state that wants to make all of the decisions for the populace.

Journobloggers talk about "gender diversity" in games all the time but the only time they talk about the most diverse company in the industry it's to call them horny pedophilic men. For all the talk about how they hate misgendering people they sure seem more than happy to misgender hard working women in the industry for not towing their line.

Somebody making a quick buck by having an anime girl say "I love you"
>i hope this means the steam ports are also uncensored, This. If the game does get censored, there will be mods to uncensor it.
>although nintendo's systems being the base is also kind of annoying since they limit what can be done due to weaker hardware Carts alone is literally a double edged sword because compilations(in the West mainly) are half assed by releasing 1 game on cart and the other via a voucher to download it instead of 2 separate carts or both games on one cart like the Gunvolt Striker Pack. Or the worst way they handle the game is part of it on cart and you have to download the rest which is really dumb as shit.
Jack Clark
a company whose hq is in japan is much less likely to bend over to social terrorism
Noah Lee
except they're just one nuke away from bending down to sjws
Jose Thomas
>historically conservative country >bending to rainbow colored hair people that are not anime girls.
>2019 >Still have to debate censorship. Remember when people were telling Jack thompson to fuck off? What, now we have to pretend that fiction is harmful again because some dame with hoop ear rings say we have to?
