>Is supposed to be the main character >his battle theme is promoted as the main theme >shilled through the entire promotions >center character on the box art >only playable character in the demo >still gets completely overshadowed by Dante and Vergil
Itsuno wants to retire soon and DD2 will likely be his last game. Do you think once they get the franchise away from him they'll stop trying to make Nero happen?
>vergilcucks still can't cope that their boy will never be playable again and jobbed again
Dylan Davis
Nero is Itsuno's baby. He's trying really hard to make Nero the face of the franchise, but the trouble is Dante is just a better character, far more fun to play as and watch in cutscenes. It's just not DMC without Dante and Itsuno has to learn that.
>overshadowed by Dante and Vergil Nah,Nero still gets his time in the spotlight, it just feels that way because the story is more about Dante and Vergil than Nero.
>he thinks capcom isn't going to jew us with playable vergil
Tyler Harris
>Deadweights still can't cope that Nero will never be as cool as Dante and he'll forever be stuck in Vergil's shadow.
I like Nero but I just love Vergil and Dante more, their playstyle and their coolness just speaks to me more.
Caleb Torres
The only reason Vergil isn't playable right now is so they can use him to resell DMC5 next gen as a Special Edition feature. Nero could never have that power.
This. Fuck capcom. How many times does it need to be stated that it doesn't matter how strong he is, he's still not as cool or fun as Dante and Vergil?
Liam Foster
>implying he could've done that had they not just got done kicking each others ass
Fuck I hate capcom. Im still holding out for an expansion instead.
>seperate vergil and v >ones not even playable For what reason
Adam Jenkins
>Nero is obviously capcoms baby
I don't hate him, but it's like he only exists so we can see a cool Dante vs Vergil story through his eyes
Nathaniel Harris
I feel like they wanted people to play dante a lot in his half, and switch to nero and back to dante so people don't lose their momentum with dante.
Caleb James
Idk about that, but at least can all agree its
Griffon > Shadow > Nightmare
right?
Anthony Long
>You clearly did not finish the game
I've beaten the game all the way up to DMD. We're not talking about screen time if that's what you're getting to. We're talking about overall reception.
Henry Thompson
I based it on personality and how much I like them. V is a loveable dork though.
I just got the PC version of V. Has anyone else had the issue where the controls would completely shit themselves if the kb+m is moved at all? Is there a fix to that?
Brody Cruz
I'm a far more casual player than most fans of the series but I really do love Nero's abilities and it would suck a lot if he was missing in the next game. Is there only room for one protag to you guys? Can't they share the spotlight? Definitely don't want him to replace Dante but don't want him erased or forgotten.
Christian James
Do you think next gen RE faces will look less bloated? Will they actually look like their face models?
Nero can be a playable character for the rest of the series no problem, no one really minds that, what OP is saying is taht Itsuno and Bingo really want to push that Nero is cooler, stronger an better, but no one really is taking it, and always would look at him as a second fiddle, even when he is the main focus
Not unless they have the voice actor and face model be the same person. The faces we got are weird merges between the two.
Nicholas Bell
>Dante is going to be the same no matter who is writing. Yeah ninja theory proved that wrong.
Tyler Cooper
>Itsuno and Bingo really want to push that Nero is cooler, stronger an better, but no one really is taking it, Yeah because he isn't, and can't be without coming off as a massive gary stu which he's really close to being even in DMC5.
Chase Walker
V is cringe bro. His power side actually makes him look less autistic.
>The faces we got are weird merges between the two.
I think that could be a thing of the past eventually. Right now they have to fit a face models mask over the actors capture, but the tech is always changing and improving. They may be able to figure out how to make them fit together better.
Gabriel Murphy
Honestly, only Vergil's face is kinda bloated and only in like one shot from a low angle. Doesn't seem like a problem with the model itself desu
Vergil's in game model looks more like Maxim than in cutscenes. He also looks inconsistent and different in almost every screencap from a cutscene. I think that Dan's gigajaw is too powerful and it's great for him but not so much for the capture. They just need to learn how to refine it so he looks consistently like Maxim but still has Dan's expressions. The DMC team is still pretty new to RE so they might improve with the next installment.
I get that, but even then I feel like cutscene Vergil looks a lot closer to Maxim than it gets credit for. It's certainly not 100% close like you said but I feel it's just funky shit due to expressions and all that.
I love Vergil, and I still think he's hot. He does however look weird in some scenes. When he looks good he looks really good but when he doesn't he barely looks like the same character.
I do agree that he does look like Maxim in many scenes. This tech is new to the series so I'm confident that things will improve.
Itsuno flat out said he has over 5 projects he wanted to work on after DMC5 before he retired. We know two are DD2 and Rival Schools 3 (He is dead set on those kids graduating), and he's kept quiet about the last three projects. He's not going anywhere.
She's a good artist but the sameface is really terrible.
Aiden Taylor
where do I learn to draw like a chingity chong
Easton Peterson
I'm trying to find the 5 projects quote, but basically he said he has five he could get started on at "any time." Here's an explicit quote about Rival Schools 3, however. >“By all means, if anyone has any interest in Rival Schools 3, bombard Capcom Europe for a new Rival Schools. I would love to do that. One of my life goals, before I retire, I want to give Batsu and all those characters a proper graduation.” -Eurogamer Interview from September of 2018 archive.is/IWh93
Her(?) faces are kind of boring imo. Would be cool if she took a class on the subject.
Brody Morales
>Itsuno wants to retire soon He has said nothing to that effect and even said he wanted to do DMC6 >and DD2 will likely be his last game Kek no. Stop pulling things out of your ass and actually watch one of his interviews.
Jeremiah Anderson
She's a Fate/ artist so if she dares draw anything but that one face she'll be blacklisted from the industry and have her family murdered by gachafags
Ian Morgan
/ic/ is garbage but thank you
Cooper Mitchell
They way she draws is souless, she obviously rips the wings off birds for fun.
Grayson Long
you're mistaken if you think those are the reasons people like him.
Parker Powell
Nice I hope he gets a chance to do those projects and that one of them might be dmc 6.
Luis Mitchell
>>still gets completely overshadowed by Dante and Vergil wow it's almost like DMC5 was meant to a finale of sorts to Sons of Sparda or something.
I'd recc all the old-school communities, but a lot of the trad forums are long dead and monetized by now. If its any consolation, /ic/ has a buttload of pirated books and resources, which is their main virtue. I go their for that, not necessarily for the company.
I don't think you understand how DMC's world works. Every character--male or female--dances around and over the line of traits that a GS/MS are known for. It's a setting where there's so much crazy shit that is treated as an every day sort of thing for the cast.
Elijah Turner
Any clown can slap Dante and Vergil after they tire each other
Angel Diaz
How do I learn how to draw?
Cooper Martinez
I kinda don't want any to be DMC6. I enjoy the Itsuno DMC games, don't get me wrong, but I do think in the time he spent working on DMC, he could've used his talents elsewhere. The fucker's creative potential is insane and just trying to work on his dream project (Dragon's Dogma) led to the creation of several other Capcom projects including Monster Hunter. Letting him exercise it for less saturated singleplayer IPs would be great, or alternatively it'd be great to have him take the helm for a few fighting games so that Capcom can finally fix its shit up in the fighting games division.
Camden Richardson
How do you think the story would have unfolded had V gotten the Yamato instead of Urizen?
Keep in mind there would be no Qliphoth growing as Urizen wouldn't be able to cut open a portal to bring it over.
>wow it's almost like DMC5 was meant to a finale of sorts to Sons of Sparda It wasn't. The only reason it existed was so Itsuno could not only bring back Vergil but put him into a protagonist role even going as far as having that scene with Nero and the book to tell everyone "I'll be back" then of course we have Itsuno outright saying he's going to do DMC6 in the future so it's anything but done.
>taking the autism thing seriously its a joke man, it's like you going aww at the retarded kid when he does something stupid
>his personality and he's a pretty cool antagonist >relationship with dante and their past > his character development from 3 to 5 >his playstyle includes a weeb katana and yeah him suffering is nice to see because it humanizes him and he kinda deserves it after being such a cunt
Fuck that division. Capcom has had more than enough time to make money off of fighting games. If they're going to make games, there's a lot of neglected genres that the industry has sitting in an outdoor storage with no A/C.
Brody Adams
Capcops and Reuben will be there to stop Dan from saying anything.
Chase Mitchell
Here's a little tidbit I'm sure none of you know.
You get different dialogue lines when calling Nico depending on how much health you have left. Go find them all.
Griffon looks like an extra designed by Tim Burton. Those scissor fingers are wayyy too long
Wyatt Campbell
Is that still considered selfcest? griffon did spawn from vergil's mind
Nolan Peterson
Whats this move called?
Jaxon Davis
Kyrie will be playable in the next DMC! Nero, wouldnt leave her defenseless and without some semblance of training. He aint home all the time ya know.
Luke Campbell
El pollo GRANDE
Jonathan Thomas
what the fuck let go of the ice shit it is completely unrelated to ice Vergil is clinically depressed and suffering and you're here thinking its because of god damn mother fucking ice go dunk your head in a bucket of ice and die you big inconsiderate caveman foreheaded buffoon your dad never wanted you and your mom left you in a garbage can and she filled your mouth with afterbirth in hopes you'd suffocate and die so rats could feed off of your infantile corpse
I don't mind Nero, really. But I would appreciate it if they would actually flesh out his character and make him interesting to play in a way that doesn't just hurt my hand by making me constantly hit triggers on every swing to exceed. Give him his own game, where you don't fucking change characters halfway through. Just give him an entire game's worth of development and weapons and moves etc.
Stop just slamming Dante in there as an excuse for only giving Nero like two fucking gameplay features.
Nero's also it implies that Vergil's pants are his underpants
Logan Cox
Nero is my favorite character. Imo Dante isn't really that cool, he's just wacky woohoo pizza dickhead in almost every appearance, and I think DMC5 severely cheapened Vergil's presence (where he was my previous favorite). I've wanted to like Nero ever since playing DMC4 and it turns out when you completely remove fucking Kyrie from the picture he's a cool and relatable guy with an actual personality.
>we have Itsuno outright saying he's going to do DMC6 in the future so it's anything but done. user, Itsuno was moved to a different team from the DMC team, he's most likely working in DD2 now
I can't tell which twin is this Also stop posting weird fanarts please.
Nicholas Cruz
it was a pic of what I thought was child Vergil pissing blood onto child Dante but I translated the post and I think it was just two generic anime children still what the fuck
I had assumed there was a gusset in the center of his pants because leather does not breathe for shit. But I never thought he would go this far. I guess Vergil and Dante really are twins, after all.
The thing that made me fall in love with Vergil in DMC3 was how reserved he was. He wasn't constantly on screen but his presence is the background radiation of the game. He didn't really say a whole lot but every time he spoke he said something memorable and cool. He was a great Dante mirror and a player analogue that you measured yourself against on a slow burn throughout the entire game until kicking his ass at the end. Vergil was presented with such great pacing and restraint that you vividly remembered everything he said and every time he was on screen
In DMC5 however the entire game is about Vergil's mommy issues and how he nuked another city even worse than the one in DMC3 because he hates big mean Dante and all of Vergil's complexes literally manifest as three separate characters. The pacing is all over the place, the portrayal of Vergil and his motivations is kind of unfocused, Urizen doesn't really fill the original rival character role very well, and any sense of climax you should have felt at finally seeing/fighting Vergil is completely deflated by having to do it twice in a row during what feels like a completely no-stakes battle in a boring arena with worse music than anything in 3 while Vergil quips like Dante and Nero. I'm not sure if I'm articulating well enough why it disappointed me, and I know the whole point of the game is Vergil's redemption, but man it just made him come off really weak
Robert Russell
You know, I always thought we'd progress to sfm side of things before barreling straight on into gore. DMC threads really do move at a rapid pace.
What could even stand a chance against a team up between Vergil, Dante and Nero now? Vergil and Dante are probably way past Sparda now and Nero is probably at DMC1 Dante tier or above. Mundus would be such a joke to them it would humiliating.
Liam Martinez
>Nero is probably at DMC1 Dante tier or above Nero had already surpassed the level Dante was at during the beginning of DMC5, without even obtaining his DT. He was the first one to hurt Urizen in the game. The gap is has to be pretty small by now
Jose Butler
A non-centralised entity that isn't just a powerhouse that they can tackle head on.
Jaxson Ross
the manga really brought out the guro artists and shotacons also sfm porn is a thing of the past, blender is the new hip medium with subsurface scattering up the ass among other things
I found a pic of V deepthroating his own cock while he vomits like a waterfall, where would that fit?
Chase Ramirez
link
Juan Price
I was trying to be conservative in the estimate. While Urizen had more time to absorb blood since then, the bosses killed were linked to the tree so I was unsure how much Urizen's power fluctuated through the story. If it was constantly trending upwards then yeah. Nero breaking that barrier via pure power was a high feat. Still think it might have been a compatibility thing as the barrier was linked to Yamato in some way.
thank you so much my friend is going to kill me however I think that's just an excessive amount of cum, common in a lot of hentais and not vomit so this was sort of false advertisement but it's still horrible
Nah it's part of a vomit play doujin they're making.
Aaron Gomez
God, thats hot
You see, I always felt like Vergil's scenes in DMC3 felt ancillary to Dante's. Even after Vergil raises the Temen ni Gru, and does his odd dance with Arkham, Dante always feels like the instigator of all the narrative action in the story, especially since the player starts the game from his point of view. Vergil provided a nice character foil for Dante, but he didnt really grow on me until the second half of the game, when we get a substantial part of the larger plot pieces back out in front. And the fights with Vergil get progressively more difficult, too, so that ludo-narrative game mechanic helped cement him as a stronger presence in my mind. Dante still stole the show for me, though.
I do agree with you that Vergil's function in the story and the game was weakened substantially in 5. DMC5 doesnt have quite enough time to flesh out Vergil's neurosis about his past, and Urizen and Vergil's boss fight arent terribly difficult, which diminishes things a little bit.
I liked what they tried to do with V, however. Even if it didnt work out too well.
>with subsurface scattering up the ass among other things
You know I started laughing when the first thing that bothered me about this pic was the messed up luminosity coming from underneath the characters skin.
I'm surprised about the shota resurgence, I only saw that in drips and drabs in the past. Weird times.
Michael Young
Did you miss the controversy that came from Visions of V? V stole his clothes from some guy, took every article of clothing and all the accessories, but left his underwear on him. V was going commando that whole game. It's canon.
Adrian Miller
Original commenter here. This was a lot tamer than I expected.
Austin Russell
I remember there being some mild disgust on these threads and some humor, but not a whole lot else. I think of V as Vergils alternate-ego of sorts, so its funny to me that suppressed part of his character carries over to his Public/Real World persona. Both V and Vergil are degenerates and I love it.
>v has his tiddies out but vergil is covered head to toe why itsuno
John James
Vergil is like the top-billed personnel at the Host Bar of DMC- once the customers see his nipples, they know you will lose interest in him, so they keep him burkha'd to inspire mystery and sales.
Come on, Capcom. Give me a dakimakura or something. I'm begging ya. Please.
Degenerates? Let me tell you something. Why would Vergil want to wear some dudes underwear? It was late at night and he had likely been sweating all day in those. Why would I want to mix some dudes ball sweat with mine? THAT would be degenerate. Would you wear some dudes underwear?
best part of that scene is that Vergil pretended he didn't like the outfit kek
Daniel Bennett
A little puke isn't so scary.
Carson Rogers
Vergil could have stopped at any time and stolen some fresh pantaloons from a local gas station. He chooses to go without! Can you imagine, leaving such valuable merchandise swinging freely within the cache of loose pants while fighting incredible strong monsters who live to rip and tear? Its not just negligence on his part. I'm convinced he enjoys the thrill. Its pure hedonism, what he's doing. Thoroughly degenerate! And I couldnt be happier
Matthew Robinson
Just scrolled further down and found Titty Monster Vergil. I lied. There may be a little fear left in me.
they should have just had vergil shirtless under that coat
Zachary Robinson
I had a dream catto kept following me around my house and I was scared so I kept trying to hide but it'd always find me so I gave up and went to bed but then it jumped up and laid on top of me and I just hesitantly pet it while struggling to breathe under all the fatto
No joke, panthers are actually easy to domesticate on the spectrum of wild cats. Their weight and power tends to become troublesome when they grow up, so people tend to release them after theyre past the baby-kitten-ish age.
I think the idea is the series is now being handed off to him. I didnt like how he beat vergil and dante at the end, but i guess they were both exhausted by that point. I wish those two had a better finale than just sitting at the bottom of a tree, fighting for ages
Luis Hernandez
Yeah I think it was. I found V and Nero ones but it's weird I haven't found any Dante.
Caleb Nguyen
I found it as a lone illustration on pixiv, so I guess they havent made the back yet. Yeah, the pants are super-low rise- like the bumsters McQueen made back in the 90's. kek Vergil would be really exposed if those were 3-dimensional.
Jacob Green
Dante really needs more love. I wonder if its his age thats scaring the younger audience off? They should do some timey-wimey crap ingame that keeps the Sparda bros from aging any further or we'll never see any new cheesecake art of them at this rate.
Underwear are essential in fighting the denizens of the Underworld! Sparda must have girded his loins fairly well- he didnt lose a fight in over 2000 years.
I just wanna press the soft pads on its giant paws. They look really cool.
Ayden Cooper
Thank you! I've been trying to find a good one for Vergil.
Noah Parker
>scaring the younger audience off? I think Nero and V appeals to them more, while the older fan base likes Dante and Vergil? He's not even that old, early 40's isn't a bad age. He's daddy as hell.
Anthony Rogers
>They also have an interactive live wallpaper >He reacts differently to you depending on you relations
IIRC the Qliphoth was going to sprout anyways; Urizen just used and fed it to absorb more power. I don't think V can even wield Devil Arms considering he has no demonic power and he's physically very weak, even by human standards. Since he was trying to stop Urizen, he'd probably give it to Dante, who'd keep it for fighting especially after realizing how strong Urizen really is.
someone post that one concept art of Vergil punching Dante while making a really stupid face
Carter Murphy
Oh I'm definitely in that older camp since I grew up with the series But then, I liked older characters back then, too. And I love Dante's look. I just fear that DMC's not getting that new blood that it needs to continue. Nero and V are excellent, but I cant help but feel that theyre missing a little extra something to give them that staying power that Dante and Vergil have.
You remember wrong. The Qliphoth hadn't grown once in the past 2000 since Sparda sealed off the demon realm. The only reason it was able to sprout and prosper was because Urizen cut open a portal and allowed it into the human world to feed on human blood.
On the point of V, he still has at least the tiniest bit of demonic energy left in him, he even says to Trish that he uses what little he has left to keep his body from falling apart completely. Trying to use Yamato would probably go the same way as him trying to use Sparda though
Alright. I always wanted to know what it would be like to be Mundus.
Blake Miller
That was actually a theory of mine.
Liam Flores
>Nero and V are excellent, but I cant help but feel that theyre missing a little extra something to give them that staying power that Dante and Vergil have I've seen people mention giving Nero a rival, so that might work. Maybe have the rival take V's gameplay?
Adam Jones
Funny enough, looks like someone in the game (probably in Dante's office) there's a texture for a pawn slip, which I'm guessing is to Enzo's store. Gives us a name for it too
A rival might be just what he needs, youre right. Hopefully as a new character to keep him from mirroring Dante and Vergil too much.
Jacob Robinson
I think I remember Griffon saying it had some residual magic powers, like some leftover pieces from another demonic item. They find the cane in an antique shop and V says the place looks "tacky". kek
I'm saying he didn't seem as cute in the game when I played but he was still handsome.
Gavin Young
He really is beautiful. Though its hard for me to find any of his older modeling profiles. He must not have been in the industry tthat much before DMC5
