doing it

Making in a place where $80 is equivalent to $500M.

Smart europeans instead of dumb amerifats, thats how

copying other games like skyrim, marketing their game as better than skyrim, then basically just making skyrim with somehow worse game play in an engine built of 90% licensed middle ware, 9% contracted code and 1% original code.

Thye idd when POLEs left it

eastern european magic powers

To be fair, Witcher 3 hasmore mountains

do what? make a mediocre game?

I feel like I'm missing something in this game, not memeing.

- Exploration is supposed to be the crux of the open world game, but loot is tied to your level. So it doesn't matter whether you plunder a hidden treasure here and there, you always get gears that is inferior to witcher gear
- the sidequest don't make sense considering the urgency of the main quest. Your daughteru is missing, mages are getting slaughtered in novigrad, so let's play this Gwent tournament and help Dandelion's gay play by becoming an extra.

??? I heard the DLC is better, but it is a chore to play (I'm mid-late game)

DLC is x2 x3 than the base game.

Nah, DLC is just a fuck ton of cutscenes. Actual gameplay with both DLC is maybe 30% more

And it still sucks

You're retarded if you're posting this image unironically.

No need to get so mad, why would you defend such a half baked game?

Not him, but you're retarded.
youtube.com/watch?v=V962NMUXp6A

I'm more angry at your lack of understanding of video game graphics but please enlighten me.

Why does a PS2 game look better than a game that has microstuttering on an i9 and 1080ti?

Please tell me you're pretending to be retarded.

Make it so awful? By not trying hard enough I guess

Answer the question shill

Why should I? You're too retarded to understand how shaders work.

Well they sure aren't meant to make games look worse.

buahahahaha holy shit you are retarded
console gamers dont know about graphics at all

almost everything is pre-rendered in silent hill games, you absolute nigger.

Remember when CDPR deleted all the ps4 PC comparison videos because it revealed that they literally looked the same?

That model isn't pre-rendered, you ever play the game?

Because everybody knows that you don't know the answer when you refuse to give it, talking like "dude trust me I sure know the answer but I won't tell you because you're stupid, stupid" only makes it worse for you

it literally, doesnt look the same, and in consoles, it even run like shit
literally consoles are shit, people defending console performance are retarded

y-you just don't know what a shader is...heh! I-ignore the downgrade please goyim!

>Get witcher because it was on sale
>Do all the side quest and map markers
>Finally get to skeliga
>Lose all interest

Attached: HGNNN.jpg (1534x2048, 295K)

>Gut the soul from character dialogue, the storytelling, the alchemy, make the combat piss fucking easy.
>Throw in open-world filler including a million side quests that have nothing to do at all to the events of the main plot
>Collect the GOTY award because you just made a casualized product.

Pretty easily.

Yeah the game is extremely boring.

Why should I waste my time with a troll?

sometimes things just become popular arbitrarily, OP. It doesn't always have to be something they did and so doesn't always require an explanation. People pick random shit to pretend to like

>it was luck h-haha
nah brah

>anything that makes me look stupid is a troll
you gotta go back.

Attached: tw3-3.jpg (5380x1348, 850K)

Anything seems arbitrary and without explanation if you're ignorant enough

You're only making yourself look retarded in front of people who actually work with textures and 3D models m8, me included. Congrats on being the smartest village idiot I suppose.

What's the optimal way of playing this game? I started on the hardest difficulty

Why does the witcher 3 have worse image composition and models than a ps2 game? You still haven't answered this simple question and have now began to convince yourself that you're a developer of any kind.

Attached: cdprlies.gif (1280x714, 1.09M)

it's true that it be that way sometimes but it dont always do. Sometimes it that it happens arbitrarily and people look for reasons after the fact and once looking for them it's easy to see

PC low looks the exact same as pc ultra, the only thing that changes is shadows and draw distance. So that means the game is gimped so much that the Switch can run it.
youtube.com/watch?v=GB_6lw_dh8A

>image composition
Oh so we've moved from textures and shaders to something completely different? Why did you use a cherry picked image in which Geralt is standing in a shaded area without a light source nearby? Do you not understand how hard it is to optimize an open-world game? Do you not understand the previous generations had to bake in all the details into their models because consoles weren't powerful enough to use basic normal maps and specular maps, which ultimately resulted in incorrect lighting on their models in certain conditions? Are you not aware that Silent Hill's artstyle is completely different from Witcher 3's?

hmm no... no, if cdpr needs to downgrade the game so the awful hardware of consoles can run it, blame consoles not the game
on pc it looks and run a lot better than consoles
i dont know what's your point in all this

consoles are shit? true

Same. Game peaked with the witches quest tbqh

They did it by having interesting characters and stories. The choices made in the game can have a big impact on the ending, while at the same time, all still seem like plausible choices for a person like Geralt. I also love his dry humor at times. They don't overdo it, but when he does make a sarcastic quip, I always find myself smiling.

I'm still playing through and I just found this quest. I have to wonder how many people who play this quest will catch the joke. I appreciated it though. CDPR respects gamers.

>Oh so we've moved from textures and shaders to something completely different?
Did we ever even start there? That is what you're obsessed with despite me never remarking on them.
>Why did you use a cherry picked image in which Geralt is standing in a shaded area without a light source nearby
Is the sun not a light source?
>Do you not understand how hard it is to optimize an open-world game
This actually isn't the case any more and hasn't been since the 7th generation. Developers just use it as a meme to excuse their poor optimization. Optimization also has nothing to do with image quality. You aren't very smart, are you? Optimization may fix their micro stuttering problem on PC but that's due to all the middleware they use to tie everything together. Unlikely they even have access to that code. Since data streaming became so widespread open world game design has gotten so easy even Nintendo can do it.
>Do you not understand the previous generations had to bake in all the details into their models
You mean the diffuse texture? Yeah, no shit. Even the PS2 made use of normals however. This doesn't excuse the hideous texture work in the skyrimmer 3.
>consoles weren't powerful enough to use basic normal maps
been doing this since the dreamcast
>specular maps
even the fucking n64 does this
>Are you not aware that Silent Hill's artstyle is completely different from Witcher 3's?
are you aware this doesn't explain how silent hill 3 looks better than the witcher 3?

So what's next Mr. texture artist & modeler? Gonna try to spew more PC cuckold buzzwords like the underage faggot you are? This still isn't making the witcher 3 any less shit. What are you gonna do?

Attached: tw3-2.jpg (3790x1072, 1013K)

>Is the sun not a light source?
He's standing under shade. Read.

>This actually isn't the case any more and hasn't been since the 7th generation.
The game was released in 2015. It's been four years.

>You mean the diffuse texture? Yeah, no shit. Even the PS2 made use of normals however. This doesn't excuse the hideous texture work in the skyrimmer 3.
The only game I know of that made use of normal maps in the PS2 is a Matrix game. Feel free to post the others that do. Witcher 3's textures were fine. The skin material depended on the lighting, as most modern games do. Find any modern game, put their model in a room without a light source, and you'll notice how bland their skin looks.

>even the fucking n64 does this
Post examples.

>are you aware this doesn't explain how silent hill 3 looks better than the witcher 3?
The Witcher 3 technically looks better. Your use of a cherrypicked cutscene screenshot doesn't prove your point.

Is there a more technically impressive game than the witcher?

As a non-biased Witcher 3 fan, there's Red Dead 2 and by the looks of it, Death Stranding.

>He's standing under shade. Read.
Where's the AO to accentuate intersecting faces?
>The game was released in 2015. It's been four years.
Yes, you can count. That's surprising. It's been 15 years since the 7th gen started.
> Feel free to post the others that do.
silent hill 2, 3, 4 to start with
>Witcher 3's textures were fine
looks pretty shit to me
>The skin material depended on the lighting
no, the material is consistent. It's just a bad texture.
>as most modern games do
other games like uncharted 4 do a much better job of handling materials.
>Post examples.
conker, banjo tooie, perfect dark
>The Witcher 3 technically looks better
and all the technical advantage in the world, several orders of magnitude better hardware and all they could do is make it look worse, the final result, the composition, is shit.

How cornered do you feel right now Mr. "developer?" Give up that schtick yet now that you've significantly embarrassed yourself?

>Red Dead 2
d y n a m i c
h o r s e
t e s t i c l e s

why does hairworks turn his hair so grey? it looks white normally and is described as white in the books.

Attached: hairworks.jpg (1920x1080, 83K)

Incompetent developers slapping on any piece of technology they can put in a marketing blurb with no concept of how to correctly use it.

They didn't do anything. It's just a slightly above average product in a shit industry.

Cornered? I have actual experience with developing 3D models and textures. I know you're still talking straight out of your ass. You're comparing small environments with Witcher 3's open world which takes up way more resources. "B-but Uncharted 4!" yeah no shit it looks better since it doesn't have to render as many resources as the Witcher 3, so it can save all the extra horse power for the shaders and materials. Also, a 1 kilobyte 8x8 pure white specular texture is not the same as a detailed 2048 x 2048 specular texture.

It's shit

The graphics, game mechanics and to an extent the writing I can understand, but I can't understand how they managed to localize it into a 'British feeling type' medieval fantasy so well.

They had already done this by TW2, but nailing all the appropriate English accents and vocabulary (plough em all, arse, etc) must have taken someone with a very clear vision of how they wanted the (at least English edition) of the game to turn out and did so amazingly.

amazing game, one of the best of all time
needed better combat

>steal everything in a house, leaving them with zero food or items.
>not a word of protest
they didn't even try
game is a 6/10 dressed up in nice graphics and a decent story.

I remember a time when kids' first games wasn't skyrim. A time before people like you existed.

It was a good time.

why is this game so boring, Yea Forumsros?
it's pretty, but it's a pretty snoozefest.
