You have no idea how many concessions are made in art - especially something like a video game that's made by a massive corporation staffed by literally thousands of people. Video games are not made by one guy who has his vision derailed by some angry feminist who got into a position of authority.
You want artists to have full freedom and make whatever they want, but we're talking about a company that is remaking a game because it's legendary status will have so much recognition that there's no way this game can't be a hit. It's not because some artist with a dream wanted to make this.
