How come there aren't any open world games are pic related?

How come there aren't any open world games are pic related?

10/10 graphics
10/10 fighting mechanics
9/10 driving mechanics
9/10 story

Literally no downsides. Only downside is that there aren't enough weapons

Another downside is that it's boring as fuck

why is there so much SD shilling lately? is there going to be a new one? i know it's good, but you guys have been hammering it to death recently

it's pretty great
wei shen is a gigachad

>t. Yakuza fan

No it's not. I've had more fun playing it than gta 5

I don't see any shilling

I liked this game until they brought out the guns. I feel that it ruined the experience.

SOUL

It's cause it's based in Hong Kong. And, weapons laws are very restrictive in HK.

Name a better soundtrack.

the guns are what completely sold me on it desu
jump over a barrier, tackle a dude and grab his pistol, shoot him in the head and then shoot his friends. ditch the gun and do a running spin kick on the last guy before picking him up and mashing his head into an industrial fan. feels like im in a good kung fu movie.
it just becomes a better GTA at that point

Too bad the sequel got cancelled.

Night city, home

If you like the graphics and the fighting and the story, you might enjoy the Yakuza series.
Possible downsides are there's no driving around and combat is encounter based, not sandbox. No third person shooter combat either, but that's Sleeping Dog's weakest point.

so much better than any other open world game from this gen or last

>J Dilla
>Squarepusher
>whole H-Klub Radio
>motherfucking Shawn Lee
GTA dropped the bar so fucking hard after SA.

Open world is dead. There aren't many devs around. The only AAA title we got is Watch dogs, GTA and upcoming cyberpunk

Is this the actual good yakuza game?
I'm tired of weeb shit.

Underrated

My main complaint is how much was obviously cut out. The story seems very much like a highlight reel. The maon beats are there, but it just screams that things inbetween were hacked away. You're an untrustworthy random street thug, and then you're Winstons best bro ever within the space of 20 minutes.

And the dating. Fucking hell.

>10/10 fighting mechanics
It somehow manages to be more boring than the Assassin's Creed 1 combat, you can get away with just standing and hitting Y for most fights
>9/10 driving mechanics
If you don't try to turn your car I guess, and
>press X to ram
is just stupid

>9/10 driving mechanics
Are you sure about that?

>is there going to be a new one?
We were supposed to get a sleeping dogs 2, but the publisher released some really really shitty multiplayer game that crashed and burned and decided that no one cared about the franchise.
Or something like that, its been a while.

Because it's for sale at 2€

this piece of shit was legitimately one of the worst games ive ever played.

This game is less than $3 on steam right now by the way

It's a better cyberpunk game that CP2077 will ever be. Fact.

Was any of the DLC worthwhile?

Only ever played the base game on PS3.

You should play more than one game, then.

Another is that the graphics are 6/10, fighting is 5/10, driving is 2/10 and story is 4/10. Literally no downsides except all that.

Why is there always a shill for this terrible game that's always on sale for like $2?

t.ranny

It's Yakuza if it wasn't boring

you should blow me, homo.

t. a man who never eats a pork bun

Based. Was my favourite vehicle.

I think the idea is that you do side missions in-between. That's what I did and everything felt fine until the last third where Wei suddenly had a meteoric rise because I was doing main missions back-to-back.

>10/10 graphics
Man those console tier graphics really sucked though.
>10/10 fighting mechanics
They were ok but nothing amazing.
>9/10 driving mechanics
Cars that can nudge sideways by some magical force, with terrible drifting, you call that good?
>9/10 story
Just another Hong Kong cop/triad flick. It has its moments for sure, but it isn't that amazing.

Also the low number of weapons is because the game is centered around the aforementioned fighting mechanics, it's Hong Kong where guns are hard to come by.

> Man those console tier graphics really sucked though.
Huh? I played SD recently and was blown away how good night Hong Kong looks in 2k19. It was 10/10 back then, yes

Nightmare in North Point is kinda fun, the rest isn't really worth it.

I don't agree with any of your scores and I like SD a lot. It's a game that does nothing super well but is carried on the strenght of SOUL alone.
If it was set in USA it would be instantly forgotten

The story ones are just a few missions which are completely inconsequential to the main story. The item DLCs are all pretty mediocre aside from the one that gives you a self-driving supercar with manned turrets and an EMP burst.

It's controls are a little clunky, but overall good game with plenty of soul.

>If it was set in USA it would be instantly forgotten
Doubtful. The martial arts and fighting system of this game carry it more than anything else. The Hong Kong backdrop is nice, but its not the main selling point

US-based games of this genre are too common, most GTA clones suck or turn into wacky shit like Saint's Row.

LMFAO that's good stuff.

It's really nothing that hasn't been done by many other games. Maybe one of the smoother bamham clones, but a clone nonetheless

(x) Doubt

it's $2
