Is emulating justifiable?
Is emulating justifiable?

Yes
If the games you want to play are not offered with reasonable convenience and price then you're morally obliged to pirate and/or emulate.
why wouldnt it be faggot
Of course
I don't really replay games. I bought one of those snes classic things and got bored after an hour. I liked those games when I was younger but not anymore. I need constant new things to not get bored and suicidal.
Thread over in seconds.
Yes, especially when there's literally no other way how too, like most Nintendo games.
Yes, if the game is abandonware and can't be easily played on modern hardware. Or if it's a Playstation game. That makes it justifiable no matter what.
>like most Nintendo games.
Except since they wii they've put most if not all of their games on their various stores.
I'm too lazy to set them up. I want someone else to do all the work for me of making the emulators all nice and tidy.
Would this person be upset if I "copied" and monetized this video?
They always are.
Then just download standalone emulators.
Alright well what about AAA titles?
Like new Nintendo games or games released this year?
Why wouldn't I want the entire library of videogames on a single non-proprietary device for centuries of archiving?
Morality is a social construct. Theft and Piracy are both human inventions. The soil doesn't call the grass a thief for taking it's water, nor the grass the cow for eating it. Do whatever you want, everyone has their own social contract.
Tool lazy. I want it all to be organised in a easy to use UI like the snes mini had
Uploaded it to my channel. Even copied the description. Gonna try sending a takedown request on the original for copyright in a few months.
yes, THEIR games, nintendo published-games. That isn't true for most nintendo console exclusives not published by nintendo.
If companies won't preserve their legacy games, then leave it to the fans.
Playing on an emulator just doesn't feel the same as playing on the actual hardware
Yup. Plenty of these systems/games should be public domain by now, in my opinion. They aren't because of corporate bias in copyright, but c'est la vie.
>zen and the art of piracy
no
I think yes so long as the game in question is unavailable on any current platforms/not a new game.
I want this but am not willing to do any work to do it. I just want easy download
Yeah, it usually feels better.
same here, I tried setting it up and holy fucking nigger cocks, no one just has a giant fucking file I can download? Having to rip shit off sites to get descriptions of games? Why the fuck doesn't someone just drop a 1TB file and call it a day.
I still have the thing sitting in a box somewhere unused
tripnigger
based
Yeah. Just try to find a functioning Atari 2600 in this day and age that isn't a vintage antique.
If you really want to, I suppose you can find some ingenious aftermarket shit cooked up by space wizards.
Look up "retropie images" on Google.
Will do friend, as long as they are fully setup
Thanks very much. I'll give that a look so.
No, but who cares. If you try to justify it, you're a bigger cuck than moralfags.
Is there a universal controller to use for multiple emulators? I try to use the WiiU’s GameCube adaptor on project Dolphin and then when I try to use it on Project 64 it stops. Fixing it then reverses the problem
99% of companies are never going to re release their games and those that currently do only release a handful. There's no reason not to preserve these games via emulation when nobody is making money off them. There will never be an easier way of checking out some old vidya with your friends unless someone creates a monthly subscription service which is cross platform and incudes third parties from the past 40 years. This is never going to happen and if it does the only people interested in it will be neckbeards who already emulate
If companies aren't going to rerelease their games on their digital stores, then of course I'm going to emulate them instead of giving some fat fuck cash for hording games
Launchbox is a pretty good and brainlet friendly emulator frontend for those that are too lazy/dumb for Hyperspin, RetroFE, and the other more advanced ones.
It's what I use because it takes 5 minutes to just import full romsets and download all the images/descriptions from their linked database.
