Think of a combination of Chain of Memories and the Command Deck games but with touch controls and is actually fun.

I actually like both TWEWY and KH, tbqh.

They’re tied for me when it comes to best ARPG experiences.

TWEWY has the same thing going for it as 2FM where by the time you get to the endgame it just feels so good to play you keep playing it forever.

It also has the best story of any Nomura game.

In CoM’s case, the game is insanely repetitive, even by KH standards. Combine that with the dull ass room structures, the Card Break mechanic, and the game being insanely easy to break and it can get dull very quickly.
In BBS and DDD, melee combos feel like shit compared to just spamming command and you can’t even combo into them, not to mention enemies can randomly break out of your attacks. In TWEWY, while Neku can only use pins to attack, this ironically opens up his options more as the customization truly allows you to fight in whatever way you want, with the touch command adding an extra layer of strategy towards how you want to position and launch your attacks.

Also, personal tangent, but BBS and DDD feel too goddamn slow and floaty compared to KH2FM and TWEWY. I honestly feel like Recoded handheld the Command Deck the best out of the three due to how much faster and slightly more grounded it feels, plus you can actually combo into your commands.

At multiple points in the story when there is even the tiniest bit of tension the story will suddenly jump forward 5 mintues and then for some reason flashback to what just happened for no god damn reason. It repeatedly drained all the tension out of scenes including the fucking ending which the game doesn't show you, it makes you read about it in a text file you have to play the post game to unlock, which is admittedly fun but not how I wanted to experience the climax

You already see that during Week 2, though. Joshua even notes how Neku changes throughout the game and all that.

I wanna see his final thoughts on the matter not just the steps leading up to it. I wanna see the main character's reactions when they realize they finally won. I want to see the climax of the story, not infer it no matter how obvious it is. Sometimes just seeing things is most of the satisfaction rather than just knowing it's gonna happen

Considering his smile before Neku gets revived back to life and how Joshua is a naturally secretive person, I’m pretty sure we’ve already seen it.
As for the characters, we can already infer that everyone is happy that they’re alive again due to them meeting up at Hachiko and that Neku doesn’t forgive Joshua but he still trusts him.

TWEWY is one of those games that really doesnt need a sequel or is helped by one. It's a self contained story that has a VERY clear beginning, middle and end. It executes on the vision of not only its characters but its world so clearly that there's not anywhere to go with it in terms of improvement, in my book.
The only reason I would think I'd want a sequel or a new entry in that franchise is if the director or a similar visionary had something comparable holistic to create again. Until then, I'd be happy if they just included TWEWY stuff in other Square games

The game's core theme is about learning to open up to and trust other people. This theme is reinforced by the way that the gameplay requires you to understand and execute two different play styles simultaneously. Removing that severely hampers the game's overall message.

This game was full of heavy scenes. Beat’s backstory in particular got to me the most.

It's definitely inferior, but still fun as long as you do solo co-op. It will take you about an hour to master the motion controls, but it's so satisfying once you get good at it.

This is 100% accurate.
Week 1 can be tedious and boring because you can't see where the fuck the game is going, but the moment it end and week 2 start, the whole game explode and you start shit briks from that moment up to all the post game content.
