I'm not asking for Shadow of Duty or Shadow May Cry, user, I was expecting an artistic game with an interesting world and mysterious bosses. When they gave you the climbing tutorial at the beginning I was expecting to use it in more places than just the colossi themselves. I was expecting to explore ruins in search for anything, or to roam the world finding its secrets.
Instead I literally got nothing, and can't even fight the bosses in any order, I have to follow a literal arrow using the light of my sword. It's dissapointing and your analogy is fucking shit.

SOTN is pure kino! I played Ocarina of Time on the N64 when I was 17. Sure it was good, but nostalgiafags overrate it too much. Storywise it wasn't that great since it was a "save the princess" trope, which anyone could get tired of after playing too much bing bing wahoo. A great game however is Panzer Dragoon Orta, my all time favourite game! The graphics still hold up a over a decade later.

That's true though. It was decent, and an absolute masterpiece by usual Yoko Taro standards, but it really wasn't any better than a 7/10 overall despite everyone tripping over themselves to suck it off. The OST was though, and absolutely deserved all the praise it gets.

Sunshine messed up the structure from 64 by making every extra shine sprite in the game, including the blue coins, pointless by making mission 7 the only means of unlocking the final area. In addition to all the padding when it comes to getting a shine sprite, exiting the area, reentering the area, going down the same paths 7 times. Also it reuses boss fights way too much, in addition to the boss fights sucking in general. You can only get 100 coins in specific missions, leading to many faffing about and frustration. There's way too many godamn red coin missions in Sunshine, and in general over 60% of the missions in this game are generally not fun to play. Sunshine is on the lower spectrum of Mario games, worse than 64, Odyssey, Galaxy 2, Galaxy, and 3D World.

Producing videogames, like movies, are risks and a bet. And when executives lose faith in producers and creatives, they cut their ties with them and go for the easier route, like pachinko and other more stable services like health centers (health is code for light prostitution in japan)

V and VII are better games, but that hipster opinion has been pervasive for at least like 15 years. I have never encountered a game more people have fellated but haven't played except maybe Earthbound.

There's also multiple endings, so if you're getting tired from the grind you can just end the game there.

No game is "that" amazing. The way people talk about Ocarina, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI makes it seem like these were sexdolls that could suck your dick as you play the games using their nipples as buttons.

The budgets on their games were astronomical and it wasn't paying off well enough for them recently, so they switched gears to an industry with low cost/high return. It sucks for the consumer but it makes sense for their shareholders.
