I'm confused and wondering where the catch is. If the BFG edition is 3 games in 1, why is it the same original price as just Doom? And why is it on a bigger sale?

The "Doom" included in bfg is Doom, not Doom.
Duh.

This sort of shit is why releasing games with the same exact name as another game should be illegal.

Doom is the original game. DOOM is the sequel from 2016.

You can't be this retarded user.

Not hard to figure out.
One with cool ass logo.
Click on it 3 games.

One is a bought for triple A game that in no way stacks up to the original with a uninteresting logo and rip off of shooting in other games. With no exploration in doom 2016 the game is go a line go to a room go to a linear line follow path shoot in a room just like every single god damn fps out there now

The Doom 3 in Doom 3 BFG seemingly is a console port

Don't get the BFG version of Doom 3. Get the original.

You can't be this retarded user.

bfg edition is a worse port of doom 3 and the originals with censorship, removed content and worse visuals and sounds
get the actual doom 3 + resurrection of evil
get the older games on /vr/ doom generals

now hold up, i think doom 3 multiplayer is fun but its fucking dead so why recommend he buy doom 3 at all? the singleplayer is downright boring, though ive never played the addons and i recall the game crashing reliably on xbox as soon as i got to the hell portion of the game so i never got to experience that either

Bfg removes the flashlight mechanic from 3, and the .wads for Doom 1 and 2 had several things removed but you get a second episode of doom 2 or some shit.

yeah but why should he buy doom 3 original either
and whats so bad about removing the flashlight mechanic? it fucking sucked, now bfg edition sounds BETTER

Having perma flashlight was never the original intent of the game. It loses something with it always on, and it was never unmanageable to begin with. Also fairly sure the difficulty took a huge hit with a ton more ammo and health available and the visuals are a tad bit worse outside of the cutscene models.

also cutscenes in BFG edition are unskippable

plenty of people has nostalgia for Doom 3, because it was their first Doom. It's bad game though, slow and cluncky, shitty weapon, linear levels, I could go on

Oh yeah mechanics where cut on RoE. Notable example that comes to mind is the toxic sewer area no longer requiring a hazmat suit and managing air supply, you can just run in with BFG.

>Bfg removes the flashlight mechanic from 3
and that's a good thing, it was shitty mechanic

>and the .wads for Doom 1 and 2 had several things removed but you get a second episode of doom 2 or some shit
they changed sprites for medkits, because some snowflakes got offended by red cross on them (not kidding), also Doom 2 doesn't have secret levels because it had swastikas. Which is predictable, since it's recreation of E1M1 and E1M9 from Wolfenstein 3D

No Rest for Living has really nice levels, only few though. Frankly, if you want to play it, instead of buying BFG you should just download wad from somewhere and run it in source port.

>snowflakes got offended
Are you sure it wasn't the actual Red Cross organization that got the symbol removed? I know they throw a shitfit when anything resembling their logo is used in vidya. Fucking retard since a red cross is a universal symbol for healing/medicine.

exactly what I meant. It's not trademarked, or even trademarkable, they should be outright told to fuck off

DOOM is the original, DOOM II is the sequel, DOOM3 is the prequel, DOOM is a spin off reboot of DOOM.

>DOOM3 is the prequel
Unlikely, at one point you find shrine/temple with tomb of Doom Marine, which means it happens after Doom 64, where Doom Marine stays behind in Hell.

>DOOM is a spin off reboot of DOOM
Not at all. While connection between Doom 3 and 90's Doom games is barely suggested, here there's plenty of evidence that Doom Slayer IS Doom Marine, who after events of Doom 64 wandered worlds devoured by Hell, killing demons until eventually sealed in tomb where Hayden found him.
